I’ve seen James live 47 times and booked up for 2 gigs in Scotland this year , they are an outstanding live band and getting away with it is quite possibly the best song ever written 💙❤️💙❤️
@ I never tire of seeing them Tim booth is an amazing singer and showman and the band are superb , I’m booked up for 3 gigs next year and am waiting on the Scottish dates coming out so possibly more 💙
Stumbled upon this reaction video. James, for me, are the best live band. They are on tour in the US with Johnny Marr soon. You should catch them if you can.
One of my favourite live bands. Off to see them backed by a full orchestra on their 40th anniversary tour next month. They never disappoint. For a real tear jerker you should check out the live Living Room Session of Moving On, Tim's lament for his late mother. Unbelievable performance.
Oh you two!, blow me away, I love you guys, and love James, I was due to see them live this month for the first time then went and booked a cruise and had to cancel, was so gutted!. Tim Booth is a complete legend, and he is such an emotional writer. He lost his mother at around the same time as I lost mine, and then wrote 'moving on', and then he lost his father-in-law through covid at the same time I lost mine then he wrote 'Recover' and it now seems our lives are mirroring, x
I don’t know this band, but the vocals brings to mind Roger Waters. This is good. I will have to look up more. Thanks! Btw, a good band for interesting word play is Jethro Tull. If you haven’t heard them, I recommend “Velvet Green,” or “Skating Away On The Thin Ice Of A New Day.”
Mike, I just had a similar experience two days ago! You probably don't know the song, it's from 1971, my hippie days. I was going through some of my CDs, and I wanted to pull out a few that I hadn't listened to in years, and I happened to pull out a CD that I bought from a tv commercial. (do you remember the days when they sold collection CDs through tv ads?) Anyway, this collection was called Freedom Rock. There was a couple songs on it that I loved, and hadn't heard in at least 25 years. You would probably know both of them, One is called 'Signs' and it was remade by Tesla, but I am talking about the original version by Five Man Electrical Band. The other was a song by a guy named Jonathan Edwards called 'Sunshine'. Well once I saw that it reminded me of the one that I doubt you know, that was on the same album of Jonathan's. It's a song called Shanty, and I probably haven't heard it since the mid-80's when I bought the CD. I absolutely loved that song, but like you, I had forgotten all about it. I pulled out that CD, that has been just sitting dormant since the 80's, and I bet I have listened to the same two songs over and over since I first remembered two days ago. I have it in the car and I probably play each song a half dozen times every time I get in the car to head somewhere. If you haven't heard it, or either of them, I recommend you go listen to them. I think you will love both. Jonathan Edwards, 'Shanty' and 'Sunshine'. 😊love you guys! This was an awesome song too by the way. 👏👏👏🌹🌹🌹By the way, I should have mentioned that I have way over a thousand CDs, and hundreds of vinyl albums. It's easy for some of them to get overlooked .
@@MikeandGinger It's a great feeling for sure! I suppose the better feeling would be always enjoying it, and not forgetting it in the first place!😂 Did you recognize any of the songs by title?
@@MikeandGinger hey buddy, here's the songs. Not for review, just for you to enjoy. Signs and Sunshine were the two on the compilation CD, and hearing Sunshine lead me to grab his CD and play Shanty, the song I had completely forgotten. They are all great but it's Shanty that I was so excited to hear again. Here's the link to all three. James are a great live band; they are best seen live and when they play live in there home town of Manchester it’s another level again…..

I love James. Thank you for a great reaction!
Have followed this band since the 80s
Love how he still dances like he don’t care
Ring the bells is outstanding also 💙❤️💙❤️

Very enjoyable ❤️🤘🎸🎻🇦🇺
Incredible band!
First album masterpiece
What a Great song ❤
Nice music 😍👍
😊❤💯👍👍👍👍👍
Who doesnt love Tim Booth ? What a front man.
That is one of the greatest intros to a pop song in my opinion. It's a bit shorter live, the studio version is longer

Their acoustic version of Laid performed in the Bing Lounge many years ago is one I would recommend checking out if you are a James fan
"We're gonna miss you when you're gone" next please

Is there a better feeling than reconnecting with something awesome that you'd forgotten? -M

He sounds different because hes considerably older than he was in the original studio version...
