- Welcome to Russell'sWoodShed.
Todays project: Owl - scroll saw art
Project time: 20 minutes per owl
Project Notes: This one was a request from a friend. He sent me a picture found on Pintrest. I don't know the identity of the original designer.
Materials: 3/4" pallet wood
Our original templates are designed in Inkscape on a MacBook Pro.
The videos are recorded using a GoPro Hero4 (great camera) or an iPhone. We use iMovie on a Mac to edit our videos.
The music in our videos comes from the sound library on the mac which is "royalty free".
We hope you enjoy all of our content.

I'm glad you enjoyed watching. Let me know how your owls turn out.
Awesome work. Heard the Owl hooting when you were getting it a scissor trim. :-)
There's a lot of Dewalt scroll saws on UA-cam. Can't wait to get mine next week.
That was a fun video. Nicely done!

Hi, excuse me where do you get the models from?
thank you
what kind of saw it is that, here in Brazil I am unable to find what the name of the abrasive wire?
+joca
It is called a scroll saw. It uses small 5" long (127 mm) scroll saw blades. The blade is attached to the arms above and below the table. The saw model that i use is a Dewalt DW788. I have been using it for 5 months with no issues.
+Russell'sWoodShed could not be understood, is the blade I'm talking about, bought equipment equal to that of makita, but it came with pinnate rolled, I could not find this blade (?) thin that you are using, I guess I'll have to import .. ..thanks for the feedback...excuse the English, I'm using a translator ...
Nice video But ? You don't use safety glasses?
I need to wear them more often. SAfty first
What is the number of the blade of this optical saw?

How do I get the plans for these and others from your website?
These patterns aren't uploaded yet. I will upload them soon. Go to the projects tab on my website. There are different patterns there. I will add more soon
Thank you muchly.
There are a few more patterns on the site now. I hope you enjoy them.
Thanks for your troubles. There appears to be a problem with the link for both owls. I see the word "weebly" and tried to correct that but it did not work.
Try copying the owl image on the site.
Blade info please?
I can't remember the blade that i used for this piece. Try the flying dutchman assortment pack found here mikesworkshop.com/collections/blades/products/assortment-pack
You should be looking for the spiral blades. Since they make it easier for the curves. 😊
I bought instruction from woodprix and I build it very very cheap.
What number is the sheet you used
120 grit (probably). I like to keep 120, 220 and 320 grit paper stocked in the shop.
Yes. Spray glue works well too
