I adore how creepy and unnerving this area is. First time around playing this, it felt like I'd fallen into one of those video game creepypastas lol. Just love the sudden horror vibe basically out of nowhere.
A quick note about the gen-o-side route. Mods feel free to delete if this is out of line. No spoilers, just a general-heads up is all. All I’ll say about the next route is that it’s EXTREMELY difficult... like insanely hard. Just be aware of that if you plan on trying that route-I don’t want you getting too frustrated over it.
It's so hard that I couldn't do it, I got stuck at Undyne. Eventually I decided I really wanted to experience that ending, so I downloaded cheats so I couldn't die. I know, I know, it's cheating, but I really wanted to experience that ending and I'm terrible at avoiding taking damage.
Just wanna say real quick, if you decide to do the "kill everyone" route, there's definitely gonna be people going like "no dont do it, its not meant to be played, its evil" or something, which is nonsense You are free to play it, and take away from it whatever you will, that's why it's there But, it IS pretty gutwrenching, so I also wanna say that if you find yourself thinking "I don't wanna finish this" at any point, there is nothing wrong with quitting it either Finding your own limit is also part of your personal experience with playing a game for the first time and all
True Lab is by far my favorite area in the game. The retroactive recontextualization of "Determination" as an actual force in the world, along with the other lore bombs in the area, are the groundwork of what make Undertale's *world*, not just its characters, so interesting. It's the moment for me when just how well thought out the story is became apparent. The Genocide route is really the only other major section of the game that deals with that sort of thing, and, well, there's a lot of little hints and easter eggs, things so minor that you might not give them a second glance, in the Pacifist playthrough that become *fascinating* with the knowledge from the other routes. It's really tragic what happened to these monsters. They must have cried out for help for so long... ...but nobody came.

But it Will wreck you i can guarantee that much. i couldn't bring myself to finish it, personally.
If you're going to do the Genno... ...side run, prepare for really difficult fights. They won't just tear at your heart strings, they also require a ton of skill. Especially one of them. Don't feel bad if you don't manage to beat the whole run.
I think if you do the "kill everything" route right after this playthrough it will have more of an impact...now, an enjoyable impact? I don't know. But it is VERY different from the other routes.
So Lemon Bread was a combination of Aaron, Moldbygg, and Shyren. This, you had to flex, unhug, and hum. Reaper Bird was a combination of Final Froggit, Whimsalot, and Astigmatism, all of which are encountered in the CORE. This, you had to mystify, pray, and pick on. You probably got that by now, but y'know. Just saying.
Personally, I don’t think I could watch the geno run 😭 it would make me too sad, but I totally understand if you want to try it out. It’s a tough choice!
About how you asked if Lemon Bread was the horse from before. The amalgamates are actually combinations of different characters you've met before fused together. Lemon Bread is a mix of Aaron, Shyren and I think the third is Moldbygg. The ice one is actually Snowdrake's mother, you'll remember you met Snowdrake's father who mentioned the mother died. Can't remember the rest. Also you were confused how you got a had memory in your inventory, that's from when you fought the one in the sink and you chose item and it put a piece of itself in your items. Also fun fact, Lemon Bread wasn't exactly a fake save point, it actually works as a real save point. What I mean is, if you were to die to lemon bread, the game would put you back standing in front of her. The game doesn't want to screw over anyone who thought "oh I'm low on health, I'll heal with this save point here" and then if they died they wouldn't want to have to repeat stuff.

Lemon Bread was mostly based on Shyren, ie same kind of Monster (not the same individual). And, if you see this, fair warning, the Resets are canonical, meaning if you do a Genocide, you will be killing the same Monsters you JUST saved in True Pacifist. You will undo the happy ending to send them back to before their arcs, only to be murdered. And this WILL have an impact. It will also have irreversible effects if you go too far. And DT stands for Determination. Loving the playthrough! Since on another comment you mention having finished this playthrough, I'll just say spoilers for True Pacifist below: The "hee hee hee", Flowers and howdy were meant to indicate Flowey. Only Flowey and Asgore have used howdy in the whole game. Also, you assumed in some tapes you could hear both Mako and Asriel talking, however Mako's lines were offscreen and it was all Asriel, the sounds of the voices are important, and notice the sound cue was the same in all the lines. And yeah, the lines at a GAME OVER have the same voice sound as Asgore. Again, those are important.
If/when you do the genocide route you should do it immediately after finishing the true pacifist route, so not as a separate playthrough. It makes you feel more awful and that's what the genocide route is supposed to do haha
10:38 it's the device used to create the amalgamates it was invented by Sanses dad he called it "the DT extractor"... before Alphys figured out how to turn it on there were maybe 2 or 3 amalgamates from the original tests(one of them being its creator he tested it on himself first you can tell by his partially melted face)
As someone who has finished the **bad** route before, I honestly think you will have a very hard time playing through it. Watching you play this for the first time has made me feel incredibly guilty that I even played that route in the first place. I know people would like to see you play this but knowing how kind and may I say, sentimental, you are... it's gonna be very hard emotionally, if you decide to do it. Regardless, I've enjoyed watching this playthrough a lot! One of my favorites from you ♥
I would say that you finish Undertale, then take a break to play something else. One or two games after, you could attempt the genocide run. Also can't wait to see your reaction to what comes next! It's one of my favorite bosses ever.

The monsters in this lab are DISTURBING! And the music used for some of the Amalgamate battles give me some intense Earthbound vibes.
They freak me out but also make me sad
they are amalgamations of the monsters you've fought before

I never noticed this on my playthrough... at 20:58 the blanket sheet moves, like something climbed out of the bed before you could see it.

Its such a tough choice, i am in KNOTS thinking about it.
Please do it and do it after this, it will be better when the other lines are fresh, you’ll pick up on more details that cross the different endings
