More bass from the 2.1, which will happen every time. Though I do like studio monitors. I have never been a fan of JBL's sound signature in their home, studio or car audio lines. I personally think the Edifiers run away with this pretty handily.
Hi there! Today we compare well known and liked studio monitor JBL 305P MKII and multimedia 2.1 speaker system Edifier S350DB. They both cost around the same money, so let's check which one is worth it more. Starding as usual, from build quality and features, Edifier S350DB demolishes JBL in both. No only S350DB feels more premium and sturdy, it also has great set of features like Bluetooth connectivity, remote control and digital inputs that JBL can not match. Another problem for JBL is high level of hiss that is audible on idle, Edifier has almost no hiss at all in comparison. Soundwise they both are very solid speakers, but here JBL has an upper ground in terms of mid range clarity and opennes, the voices are bigger and more natural sounding while S350DB has slightly muddier and recessed presentation. Also top end is more extended and airy in JBL, but it also may be considered too hot for some in this region (and in upper mids as well). Clarity in upper ranges in JBL results in bigger and more 3D soundstage, compared with Edifier. Bass in S350DB, thanks to use of subwoofer, is deeper and punches harder when listening to bass heavy music and movies which is very enjoyable and for some may be worth sacrificing a bit of mid range clarity. Good thing about S350DB in comparison with 305P is that the way speakers and sub are crossed means that there is less upper bass buildup from the desk which is problematic with speakers like JBL. This upper bass buildup adds boominess to upper ranges when monitors are stanidng on the desk. One thig that Edifier sruggles a bit compared with JBL is the coherence between sub and satelites, they do not blend perfectly and You are always aware that there is a subwoofer in the system playing almost all the bass from under the desk. Both systems can play loud enough to fiill medium sized rooms with solid sound. If You are looking for an allround multimedia speakers to enjoy Your music in high fidelity, watch some movies and play games than Edifier is one of the best choices below 300 dollars available at the moment. JBL is even more musical thanks to superior midrange and top end, but for overall music enjoyment and ease of use it can not match S350DB What do You think? Which one sounds better in You opinion and why? Let me know in the comments below! Cheers!
please test with more bass songs to see if a 5 zoll speaker bring base drum good enough or 6 zoll need. for example DIO - Holy Diver drum cover by Ami Kim (#47) or scorpions coming home the beginning with the low bass or eye of the tiger drum cover from coop3rdrumm3r
Please S350DB vs S530D! There are a lot of us with the 10 year older set without the new technology introduced in S350DB. It would be interesting to hear the difference.
Hello! For me on this video, the difference in the sound of these systems is very small (I listened with Beyerdynamic dt 770 pro headphones). So for me, the S350 clearly benefits for the following reasons: 1. Price (at least in Russia). The Edifier S350DB on the official website now costs (with 17% discount) 182 €, and I could not find JBL 305P MKII cheaper than 138 € per piece (276 € per pair). 2. On the JBL 305P MKII there is only a balanced input, i.e. need to buy some equipment. And the s350 can be immediately connected to the TV and to the sound card of the computer and even to the phone in various ways. 3. Small speakers are less demanding when choosing a place to install. As you said, 'less upper bass buildup from the desk which is problematic with speakers like JBL'. So for my room they fit much better. Thank you very much for your work, you helped me a lot! After the purchase I will write a feedback. P.S. - Sorry for my English.
I’m looking to replace my current TV and soundbar within budget in a small living room. Currently it’s between the Edifer S350DB and the Edifer 1850 with purchased powered sub(maybe Polk). TV will be 65 inch LG.
So it's been about a year -- how do you like the Edifiers? First of all, have they held up in terms of durability and build quality, and second of all, how have you found the sound? Other buyers have reported thin-sounding lower midrange -- has that been your experience?
Hi, how are they, wanna buy a used set for half the price and link them up to my PC. Is a Creative sound car good for them or should I use an AMP or DAC, I'm a noobie in the sound department and want some quality speakers. Thanks.
I had both! JBL''s were a lot better. Because you feel the soundwaves more. I a real world scenario the subwoofer is not in your face and the edifiers does not sound like ONE sound, they sound separated. That is why JBL's give a better experience in my opinion.
Finally I bought edifier s350db. Oh boy... What a great complete package it is for my pc 👌🏻 (using in slightly mid-big room). Bought this setup just because of sub woofer and wooden speakers. Build quality is top notch 🙌🏻 whole speaker setup weighs around 19-20 kg 🙌🏻 And they are very loud (not extremely) but enough to annoy your neighbors that's why i keep it at low volume. But.... If you want more lively/Audiophile experience and you are not bass heavy just go for jbl, klipsch or edifier mklll etc. Either way you are not going to regret.
Can u disable or lower it to the max bass wheel ? I mean on my logitech z623 by turning all the way down bass wheel subwoofer shuts completelly off. Thats a good thing on Logitech, i dont know is this possible with edifier. Can Edi be good option for gaming music movies... what are your thoughts ?
@@sequayach No, you cannot shut the woofer completely because it is having all chips and power connection. But yes, you can lower the bass to the max level. Infact if you use the speaker at lower volumes (like i do on daily basis) woofer won't interpret much and gives you a feeling that it kinda off. This woofer only becomes alive when you increase the volume. Overall I will rate this Edifier S350DB [4.1/5] after 2 year of use. I hope this helps.
@@Massive-G I ordered S351DB black version few day ago, so I just want to be sure that its not too boomy. I hope its gonna be alright (fingers crossed lol)
today i picked them up from post, but i thought it was only about 7-10kg and the box wouldn't to be big so i walked out to go to the post, which is near my location and guess what i brought up the box 20kg home oh shit it was heavy af.
After listening this with my Senneheiser HD600, I conclude that the edifier is more balanced, more refined and sounds closer to the original song. Only the classical music sounded slightly better on the JBL.
I think both are pretty good and almost play the original unchanged, but I would buy the S350DB as it has bass that the JBL simply does not have. While JBL is somehow better on the high frequency, or at least louder.
Great! The Edifiers not that bad in mids compare to S305P,I have a suggestion, you could choose some music contain massive 40hz around bass to compare to 2.0 system, that could makes clearly difference between 2.1 and 2.0 system.Such as this song:Aimer - Even Heaven.
Is there 350DB faulty? in one of their tests, it sounded worse than a much cheaper edifier's own 1700BT. Here, it's barely holding against this cheapo MK II. From the reviews I have seen online, 350DB holds pretty well in its own price point. Maybe it's not better than many custom builds at this price range but it's significantly better than 1700BT according to actual user comments :|
Woow‼ Surprised... I do not really note big diferences between both, Edifier highlights in Subs a little bit, but JBL highligth in medium voice; both great sound‼ ☺♪♫ ►
Edifier s350 dB and Edifier r2000db cost the same here in India.I am not sure as to which to pick.Seeing your reviews of s350 dB I am inclined towards them.Only problem which I can't make out with these reviews, is the integration between two satellites and subwoofer. The crossover between sat and sub is 160hz...a bit high for the sub.Could you please comment on this.I plan to use it for music listening only.
I would choose S350DB. The crossover is a bit high but the sub integrates with the satellite speakers well enough, it is not as seamless as 2.0 speakers, but much better than most 2.1 speakers I heard up to this price point. Tweeter on S350D is audibly better than the tweeter in R2000DB which helps achive better midrange and treble

I have the logitech, I got them free from Dell. They are ok, but then they cost a lot less than the Edifier m3600d. They are the typical bass heavy and no midrange 2.1 set up. I'm looking to replace them with a perhaps a 2.0 Edifier set up.
I'm feeling like my Klipsch ProMedia speakers (bought used for $80 on eBay) are out muscling both of these. I would like to see the ProMedia up against the 8" Rockville HTS8B that sell for about $185 new. One 6.5" sub vs two 8" woofers...
LSR305P go for around 300, not sure where you get them for 160. Make sure that the listing talks about a pair or a single lsr305, it's impossible to buy these jbls for 160 new.
Newer technology yes, active crossovers DSP optimized sound, and verified with klippel instruments to produce correct sound. The S530 and S730 can be considered obsolete.
Yeaaah ..at last ..we can see how a 2.1 compares to a set of studio monitors. Thanks very much.
