Dude I've seen you'd fingerboard and guitar vids I'm a guitarist and drummer and bassist at my church and I love Fingerboards I love your channel and I subscribed to you man!!!!! And that paul reed smith and es335 is beautiful
Hey Gavin can you do an updated room tour? And since you finished grade 12, do you have any plans now, like will you go to college or just stick with your diploma?
I just bought a fender paramount pm-3 mahogany acoustic guitar my first guitar and I have always wanted to be a rock star but didn’t have enough money for the electric guitar but the guitar guy said it would be better to start off with the acoustic guitar because it’s harder on the fingers will make you tougher and stronger as a player so what I’m asking how can I train my self on my acoustic guitar to become a rockstar and yes I’ll buy a electric guitar later on down the road once I get good on the fender paramount pm-3 mahogany guitar so any tips to practice
Great Gavin! I remember stumbling across one of your earliest videos where your band were covering " Rockin in the freeworld" when you were just 3 feet tall and you showed great style and promise then! Just out of interest - are you planning on studying music for Uni? I know your busy with your band! But hobby in adulthood or getting down to it for a living? Whatever, fantastic.....
Hey Gavin I have a question for you. I'd like to know how you learned how to play guitar and how you learned all the riffs and songs you currently play. I really love blues riffs, but idk anything about blues. I've been playing more rock and alt rock stuff most of my life. I'm curious what a typical practice session looks like for you and how you acquire new songs. Thanks!
I appreciate the question man. It all comes from finding other players that you aspire to sound like and using their music as a template for your own progress (if that makes sense). For example, throwing on SRV's Texas flood album and just copying riffs. Take inspiration from every artist you can and add their riffs into your playing. A lot of the times I'll throw on a hendrix backing track or set up a loop and just play over it for hours and try to pull different playing styles from every type of music to create my own sound. Hope this helps man!
Thanks! That is helpful. I'm super into Mayer and want to sound more like him for sure. There's so much to learn from him. His stuff sounds so simple sometimes but then you try to play it and you're like whoa... 😳 haha fun challenging stuff.
Yo Gavin, i'm having one of those players blocks for like the 3rd time. i was wondering if you could recommend anything for me to learn, i'm well into blues/rock and roll and i've been playing for like a year. cheers.
Hey Gavin how long have you been playing and what electric guitar do you recommend for a beginner I've been playing for a few months and have an acoustic, thanks love the video
