White girl here. I was taught this song in chorus in third grade and did a solo. Came here to find it at almost 40. It’s beautiful and I ain’t mad.
Pick me b1t
This divides us
This is a nice uplifting spiritual song for churches or even a theme for the Olympics. Could even be a patriotic song. But using it to replace the Star Spangled Banner is strange.
I became an american citizen in my teen years and every time I listen to the national anthem, my boby shivers, knowing that people sacrifices there lives for our freedom ,and I take it seriously, it is not a matter of color gender and race , what matters is the ability to live on the land of liberty (at least what's left of it) because they are desperately trying to change our lives to slavery, let stand up and maintain our freedom instead of fighting against each other, to God be the Glory
You don’t want to divide then embrace and freaking learn the real history not the bs and LIES they teach in schools
@@glenfordhynson1482you want the real history, you're f****** people sold your asses thats the facts.
🧠🧼🧽🤖
@@glenfordhynson1482 What "LIES" are those?
@@melissademidov112 There are many...but why don't you start with the main subject here. Look up the history of the man who wrote the Star-Spangled Banner, an American lawyer who descended from a wealthy plantation family who enslaved people. He was a racist who felt black people were inferior. He supported emancipation only if black people were shipped back to Africa. One of the reasons (actually two) that only the first stanza of the Star-Spangled Banner is sung is because of that 3rd stanza. The fact that it was racist and because it was anti-British at a time when Britain was already our ally and the fact that African Americans were and still are fighting for equal rights in this country. Read up on the history and learn.
Like it or not, this nation has one song to represent us. A free nation fought within itself to defy itself against a tyrant that is slavery.
Every man has the ability to do better tomorrow.
BS
@@glenfordhynson1482 go back to Africa then
1912 the black national anthem was officially recognized. So like it or not we have 2 national anthems. The 1st was made 50 years before slavery was officially. The creator of the song literally believed black slaves were animals and mentally inferior. U should take a minute to learn the history of this song
@@Ill-say-what-they-wont ...the United States of America has one national anthem.
It speaks for all.
America also has an independence day but Mexicans still celebrate theirs on Sept 16th. And why is it okay for the rest of Americans to not let go of their past events, but AAs somehow need to let ours go when ours was more recent and still unsettled? I wish y'all would gain some intelligence. Y'all are THE most ignorant people on the face of this Earth.
I came here after hearing about Black national anthem on super bowl. I thought it sound like decision playing this in a mix race Superbowl. But after listening to it it actually sounds far from racist. It sound like it's for all racist and very spiritually talking about God. Those white people at the super bowl booing don't even understand the song. It's not for black people it's just made by them. Either way we can just make this song for every race just like we turned a lot of stuff from one race to all. Schools water, fountains, I didn't realize how beautiful this song was going by what media and people said.
This Song, IS ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE IN THE USA, yet it has a MESSAGE for ALL People.
@@AudreyJones-d9g yap
@@AudreyJones-d9g it was said the other national anthem was originally some dark lyrics and they edit it. It was made for celebrating black torture or etc. Not mention masons and all kinds of stuff behind it. That's why I said if they can make the other one for people they can make this one. Because the other one was worst, actually scary how they created lyrics like that back in the day.
+@Yahshuailove
You mean you are personally so much disconnected from your own culture, that you cant emphasize with americans wanting to keep their old traditional national anthem? Or are you just hostile towards americans? You do you would like it, if some corporate goons would change your national anthem without even asking the people?
The “god” it’s singing about is Lucifer, not Jesus the King. FYI
Lift every voice and sing 💪 to God be the Glory 🙏❤️🙏
you know this is not a god's song. it is called a national anthem for a reason.
We Black people have our own NATIONAL ANTHEM. It is about peace and hope. More importantly it is about something that other people don't want us to have which is ABSOLUTE BLACK UNITY.
U stoopid
25% caribbean taino indigenous, 20% Spain, 55% west African dna. ❤❤❤
white national anthem would probably be called racist
No one cares if you have black unity
Who exactly are “other people”?
And you assume that black people are 100% united. You’re not. No race is 100% “united”. If they are, they are some small group like the Saami in Lapland maybe. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
When I hear that there is no more black on black crime, only then will I agree with black people being “united”. Whatever that means…. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
It touches the core of my soul I've never cried so hard in my life I shout !!!!
God Bless America and the rest of the world 🌎🌍🌎
😊 I love ❤️ it is so nice 😊 😊❤
... written by bahamian-haitian james weldon johnson, indeed.
I'm literally in tears right now...
Lift every voice and sing❤❤❤To GOD be the Glory.
Till Earth and Heaven ring ....Amen
“god of weary years & god of silent tears”
“god who has led us into the light”
“shadowed beneath thy hand, may we forever stand”
This is singing about Lucifer-Satan-not our Creator and Heavenly Father. He’s master of deception, through appearing friendly & approachable by hijacking’s familiar Christian themes, but intentionally tweaking them to remove Jesus-the true Light-and His Truth. “America” uses many Christian and anti-Christ themes alike... One must test the messaging against His Word to know which is being invoked. Just because something generally sounds good on the surface, doesn’t mean that it is good fruit.
Alot of yall dont know 1912 was when the black national anthem was officially recognized 🤷
It was written in 2001 buffoon…
❤ I love this song ❤
Really? Where's my child too victory is one. We have come marching the fate that the present has brought us. We have come as the President has brought us facing our mouth.❤
Nothing like dividing then screaming you want equal rights to get what you want .
STFU...... We wouldn't have to sing a different version if you low life racist f**ks hadn't made it that way, so deal with it! Scream about that devils!
And you think the racist words of the "Star Spangled Banner" promotes unity? Okay, I see you!
@HMercy you are a sad, pitiful liar. There are no racist lyrics in the Star Spangled Banner

True to our God, true to our native land. 💪🏽✨ I love all the yt ppl ln here mad but listening 🤣
You mean Mex/Native Indian land??? You’d be correct… brown land!
@@Motormouthmachine indeed
“True to OUR God”? Oh you mean the white man’s religion you appropriated…? Ironic, indeed. And white Americans DID try to take your ancestors back to your native land… It’s called Liberia and your ancestors begged to come back to America when they got there.
Why are all white Americans being grouped by African Americans into this racist category you created anyway? Don’t you know that the MAJOIRTY of white Americans either are immigrants themselves or are descendants of oppressive countries who came to America LONG after US slavery was abolished and equality was established? Therefore most white Americans and even their descendants had nothing to do with the injustices done to African Americans in the past. In fact the word slave comes from the word Slav, which you probably don’t know Slavic peoples were oppressed and enslaved for many years before and after American slavery ended. They were and still are to some people “the wrong kind of white.”
Lastly, I’m perplexed by why you find it amusing that “the white people in here mad but listening.” Yes, we’re listening. We’ve BEEN listening, to find out why YOU are the ones crying for equality when all you do is segregate. Why is that funny? We should all be united, not divided. But you’ve made it so white Americans can’t even say anything in fear of being called a racist.
I’m sure the response to this post will be full of ignorance, insults, and condescending. I just want to understand why you want to segregate us as Americans rather than come together? A seriously, thoughtful answer would be appreciated, but probably won’t be received because you just seem to want to hurt others by what you’ve previously said in just a few words.
This is ridiculous. God Bless America and everyone. There’s been slaves and oppression everywhere for almost all of time. I’ll sing a praise to ending that but don’t take away the Star Spangled Banner and the admiration for the hard fought victories. I’m proud to be an 🇺🇸 American.
I hard the star have dark meaning to them associated with Lucifer and mason founding fathers.
NO ONE IS TAKING THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER! This is simply another song that was made to uplift a specific community within America. Nobody said you had to claim it as your own. Especially if you’re not even black 😭
Not for me so divisive not sure why it is called the black national anthem. Separates people into opposing groups based on race.

You do know you were created in a lab, right? You don't belong anywhere 😂
Fuck you you are racist
Fuck you are racist
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Hopefully there's and brand new country you can go sing your brand new anthem in, racist.
What away to keep racism alive
Racism is hating someone for the color of their skin. It's definitely not singing a song uplifting the voice of black people and how they overcame oppression.
Or bringing it back
Racism is baked into America its going nowhere
You're a tone deaf idiot. We still celebrate independence day, the Alamo, and other things from the past even though the days are dead, gone, and farther back. People literally fight so that Confederate statues can still stand. Christians still fight over made up stuff in the Bible and no one bats an eye. Nobody has an issue until AAs have a tradition. Please be quiet.
Racism is alive bc of people like you. Those who just can't stand to see AAs with anything of their own. The hatred you display is more than obvious to everyone but you. I don't understand why it even matters to you if you aren't a racist. Did you even listen to the words? If y'all can bring up the death of Jesus (the death of one man) every week for centuries, why should we forget the death of millions of our ancestors?
Really this upset me I turned off the super bowl...it's the Demacrats making everything political..... TRUMP 2024
Try listening to the words. They are as American as American can get.
Lord...why? The lyrics are homage to God almighty. No hate in the lyrics whatsoever. Jesus would sing along to this.
Love it ✊🏾
By these comments you can tell we still have a was to go before real equality keep fighting the fight ✊🏾
No. You just keep trying to create segregation. And that is terrible.
Dumbass 😂
I've got an idea. You want a black anthem? Take your ass back to africa
Agreed.
Sad that they don't know that this was performed by 500 children to President Lincoln in 1900. Or that it is the song of the NAACP.
But hey, if history is not necessary..then you are doomed to fail once again
equality by further dividing us? we're potentially going into a ww3 and we fighting ourselves over skin color and making up silly songs. this song fixes racism tho, no worries
Great anthem. Used to hear this all the time at my elementary school.
Its not America's national anthem. There's only one of them.
Not my anthem either beautiful song but there's only one national anthem and you can't change it...It's never going to change for any of us...
It’s not meant to replace the national anthem 💀
I didn’t know this existed. I am Latina. I think Americans still holds the past way too close! Let it go. One athem like every one else
You don’t know shit about the past fuck that let it go it’s come back full circle and you dumb ass’s don’t have a freaking clue. You are as much as a 2nd class citizen as the rest unless you white and not a white Latin
Yep, let keeps this one then bc the other one is trash.
We have a national anthem in America . If you want your own based on color that's called racism when you don't include all . Black people invented racism so yall should understand this .
Let's keep dividing ourselves people we only took 50+ years to get here
Hundreds of years ago
"Lets take the gospel music our ancestors sang in joy and freedom as they entered this country, and make it about oppression and slavery and things that never happened. Because America is people from all over the world.
We all can respect black culture. But this is blasphemy. Taking Gods glory away from Him, making it about your skin color. Thats what racism is folks. Make believe
We don't Want a Black National Athem, WE HAVE A BLACK NATIONAL ATHEM.
Only the National Anthem - but ALL of it . . . . .
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore,
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a Country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footstep's pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand
Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation!
Blest with vict'ry and peace may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the power that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto - "In God is our trust,"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Thank you good sir.
This Star-Spangled Banner was not abd is not for black Americans. This shows why. Francis Scott Key was a wealthy Southern slaveowner. And it shows.
@@vic5015 No country or people other than white Americans has done more to free slaves .
Harmonies and Liberty - I like that line but we are busy defending our homes and business from a community that seems to target the Asian Communities, especially our elderlies and women.
Yes. We must stop the racist white supremacy community.
Black National Anthem????? Uhh.. what nation is this for?? Because United States of America already has an anthem..
Using Gospel music to promote it?
One can't want and have both integration and segregation at the same time. Being that it's seems to be so important to be segregated, let them have their own communities, with only their people as business owners, with only their same people as employees. When they destroy their own communities, let them rebuild it with only their own money. No one else will be required to bail them out.
Its not segregation to acknowledge our differences and history. Surely, you can't be this disingenuous. America is for all people.
@jeremiahchandler9842 you are correct but have ya'll forgotten that not just Black's have been slaves there have been times in history when whites yes I said it even white people were used as slaves as well... but are we still crying about it No because it was many years ago and we choose not to let it affect us, we're any of you ever slaves I don't thinks so, there for don't even affect the black people of today even...
@@richardlong4076 this is where we have to have critical thinking skills though. Because while white people have been slaves it wasn’t even close to the scale that black people were in slavery, nor for the same duration or even the same amount of slaves in total. The institution of slavery mainly within the transatlantic slave trade was global. This was a colonial and imperialist machine that was backed by governments through funding, policies and laws. All of these systems and rules which still exist today. Just because slavery was abolished doesn’t negate the structures in place that exist to keep those ideals and beliefs in place. Black people are not victims but we sure aren’t oppressing ourselves either. We all just have to be honest and move forward together. If you read the lyrics this song literally captures the heart of American freedom and perseverance.
@@OrdinaryVizionarycan you point to a specific policy that needs to be addressed? Systemic racism is a bit theoretical. There's a African American medical student on Instagram who points out medical technologies that disproportionately negatively affect black people. If you can be specific it really helps
If you are offended by a song that praises God and uplift people let's me know the devil is your god
Ok.. then i guess we as another color can pick a song like they did.
But yet if we call it the White National Anthem, we're classified as racist.
It's BS, one Nation one Anthem for our whole country. We're Americans, that's it.
The National Anthem was written for white people. It is the White National Anthem, that's the point. We wouldn't need a different one if this country supported all people of color. But they didn't so hear we are.
+@glennpitre2239
You are a kind minded american, but the final redpill for you is that racism is unironically a good thing and that the USA was build and invented as an white ethno-state.
In the beginning they were even unwilling to let eastern and southern europeans become americans, it was a pure germanic ethno-state.
And that was the time that led america thrive in the first place.
You would have never become a first world country with your "we're all Americans" attitude.
So dumb. Just dividing more everyday instead of being together like everyone’s ancestors worked so hard to get.
AAs have the right, just like every other American group, to not forget our past. Our past happened right here, and America still celebrates the 4th of July almost 250 years later. The Alamo and Thanksgiving too. Theyve sworn to never forget. So stop trying to force us to forget our ancestors. Y'all dont require that of any other group.
The only ancestors who are being erased are White ones. The US government and literally every mainstream media outlet is pushing Black pride every day of the week.
You cannot turn on the TV or stream a video and _not_ see Black people in portrayed in positive roles today. You cannot find one streaming service that doesn't have a wide selection of Black Power documentaries about the past, films with Black-majority cast members, and a plethora of other pro-Black media. Blacks are being uplifted more than ever before, meanwhile Whites are being silenced and White history is being suppressed in lieu of our Black counterparts. It's OUR history that is being erased, not yours. Instead of preaching unity, the modern cult of liberalism is pushing _actual_ racism and racial division by highlighting the worst parts of our past.
No one is keeping Black people down in 2020's America. Affirmative Action is decades old, and diversity hiring as at an all-time high. Furthermore, _ANYONE_ caught suppressing Blacks in any way - including great Black people like Thomas Sowell, Jesse Lee Peterson, and Candace Owens who point out the hypocrisy of modern Black Power movements like BLM - are immediately and publicly ridiculed and canceled, and they (often) lose their livelihoods and get banned from all social media platforms. If you can't see the truth of this, then we must be living in different dimensions.
I don't care about there being multiple anthems but I don't much care for this one. I would prefer something more secular and happier about the great country we live in. Anyone working on that?
Sorry history is what it is not looking at the world through rose colored lenses, all you can do is learn from it and change your current mindset if not you will run into resistance at every turn. Understanding history will allow you not to repeat it. Learn and grow, I love you!
