Who is still listening to this amazing heartfelt song on March 3,2024
I still listen to their songs since Sing-Off😁
3/17/2024 I still comeback to listen this, especially when I'm stressed at work ll
ME
I'm listening on Juneteenth 2024.
This is by far, the best rendition of the Black National Anthem.
Years later and this is still a jam
Agreed.
Right

No matter how many years may pass, this will ALWAYS be a jam.
Bravo, men. Bravo.
I listen every year, and it’s still my favorite rendition. Amazing job! Brings me to tears😢
This is so spiritual and uplifting, this hymn has brought us a long way. No other culture can replicate this talent! #blackmagic #blacknationalanthem
belizeanalienify actually only AFRICAN Americans can sing
non alien Uh..no. My husband was Black and he couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. Besides, there are Whites and Asians who can SING.
What??????
How come I've never seen this?🔪
I'm in love!!!😍😍
"God bless this Union"
I’ve shared this with my middle school students for years now. They get kinda quiet in the presence of this perfect, skillful and passionate version of one of the most important songs in the land. What a blessed recording. Please keep sharing the great song of hope.
I been a pan africanist my entire adult life and tears come to my eyes everytime I hear this rendition
I've given it 1 year.... I'm pretty sure this is the best rendition of our anthem I have ever heard. Every time I come back I've been more persuaded, and I'm convinced at this point.
You should listen to June's Diary sing it. I really like theirs too.
The best rendition of "Lift every voice" is the one Junes diary. They didnt do the whole song but the part they did i was amazing. You should check it out. JUNES DIARY SINGING "LIFT EVERY VOICE".
Okay... I've happily listened to June's Diary, since two people said I should. I actually listened to several different videos of them singing. While I think they're really gifted singers, their arrangements of the anthem don't compare. Chords, cadence, even doing this whole song... they are not even in the same ball park. Granted, these are two totally different singing groups, with completely different objectives...I'm not at all comparing or contrasting the groups themselves. Because honestly it's apples and oranges. But as far as Lift Every Voice goes, Committed has this in THE BAG. All the way.
I agree. June's Diary's version is beautiful but this one is spine tingling! While both arrangements are amazing, I prefer the cadence and chord choices this one makes. It doesn't hurt that I'm biased because I sing 2nd tenor down to bass and this version is more in my vocal wheelhouse.

This song needs to hold a place higher than the Star Spangled Banner, it saddens me that I am only learning the history, meaning and weight of this song now. To see crowds with locked arms of all races, genders, orientations and nationalities signing this together moves my heart and soul to a whole new level.
And if you truly think about it this more American than the Star Spangled Banner, and has more meaningful of struggling times and how we can over come it
Praise God for young men who choose to use their gifts to honor God and add tribute to our heritage. They are still relevant. So proud of our sons!
I had to come back. Lord, today had been a very difficult day for me. Thank you Lord for touching my heart through these young men. Praise Your Holy Name.
You can tell they listened to Take 6 and old school Boys II Men. Great job!
a shame they don't teach this to kids in school anymore. I remember singing this in elementary and middle school
I learned it in grade school, too, and remember it even today. It's a shame that today's kids don't even know about it.
We had this awesome music teacher named Mr. Delmedico and we sung this in choir. This song is really amazing.
I know! This is our anthem
i learned this in 5th grade
Ashley Mosley They do teach it to kids
Lord Have Mercy!! This is THE BEST RENDITION I HAVE HEARD!! AMAZING!!🎙❤️
I just can't stop listening to this. I'm addicted.❤
Mrs. Davis my third grade history teacher had the entire class sing this in school every single day. She wanted us to have pride in ourselves and not forget our history.. I remember the words to this whole song because of her.. R.i.p Mrs. Davis she was a great teacher and you gentleman did a phenomenal job.

If the NFL is going to have this at the beginning of the games they need to have this group perform it. Great job guys.
amen!!!!
This will be sung for only the 1st week of the NFL season b4 each game. Would be nice to clone these guys to sing at every game, but I doubt that can be done.
@Nidstang ᛣ.ᛗ we get it nazi
Did you watch John Batitse (spelling) the US national anthem for NBA? He mixed the two songs
Really!?! I’m shocked they are going to allow it🤔
Incredible. Absolutely Incredible. The way you spoke, tears to my eyes I'm not black but still you guys are speaking for God and your doing a great job Thank you.
Anyone who gave this a thumbs down knows nothing about music composition. This is fantastically and beautifully complex.
They're the racist that want to silent their voice.
I bet most of the dislikes are from racists. Has nothing to do with them genuinely liking or disliking the music.

If there is a finer rendition of this hymn, I've not heard it. Incredible.
It's the Black National Anthem not a hymn
@@phillip2169 Do you think two things can be true at once, say, for example, that an anthem could also be a hymn?
Hymn: a type of song typically addressed to a deity.
Lift ev’ry voice and sing,
‘Til earth and HEAVEN ring,
Ring with the harmonies of Liberty;
Let our rejoicing rise
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea.
Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us,
Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us;
Facing the rising sun of our new day begun,
Let us march on ’til victory is won.
ANSWER:
GOD of our weary years,
GOD of our silent tears,
THOU who has brought us thus far on the way;
THOU who has by Thy might
Led us into the light,
Keep us forever in the path, we pray.
Lest our feet stray from the places, our GOD, where we met THEE,
Lest, our hearts drunk with the wine of the world, we forget THEE;
Shadowed beneath THY hand,
May we forever stand,
True to our GOD,
True to our native land
ANTHEM: a rousing or uplifting song identified with a particular group, body, or cause. Also, a choral composition based on a BIBLICAL passage, for singing by a choir in a CHURCH service.
@@phillip2169 High as what? "The list'ning skies". Who would be listening?

I am an elementary music teacher. I'll teach a special song then each week share exceptional recordings of that song. This is truly exceptional. I felt it right down to my bones.

Don’t know the name of this group. They are SENSATIONAL‼️‼️🎵🎵🎵🎵
I remember being in my middle school's choir class and the choir teacher played this. I was absolute blown away by the vocals (and how handsome they were). Ever since then I would come home and play this video back to back. 😍
Beautiful, just beautiful. They just stood flat footed and sang. No drama, no hand gestures (that are very distracting) no rocking and rolling. Without the drama you're able to really appreciate the WORDS of the song. I wish we would teach this Anthem to our young people each Sunday.

So much beauty in their singing, so much hope in their faces. I don't think I have ever heard a more perfect rendition of this historic and meaningful song. I love it far more than the one about "bombs bursting in air."
omg yes the faces!
Cory Lemons chill out. No need for your bigotry.
Lol yes!!
"bombs bursting in air" is talking about our country's second war for independence from Great Britain, which happens to be a pretty big deal in American history. Like it or not, this country owes it's existence to the fact that Americans literally killed our enemies to defend it. Not everything is rainbows and unicorns, lady. And I think the Star Spangled Banner is a beautiful song about the struggle that our country went through to simply exist at the beginning.
@@BryonLetterman thank you!

Spot on harmony.
Oh, my God has given you all gifts! This is the most beautiful arrangement I've ever heard of the Johnson brothers', James Weldon (words) and John Rosamond (music) "Lift Every Voice," AKA the "Black National Anthem." That's saying a lot because I've been singing it since grade school. Your intricate, moving harmony and rhythm are symbols of the miracles we can bring about when we work together. Thank you for sharing your exceptional voices. I had to stand still and listen. Many blessings to each of you ❤

2 Days who my choir teacher showed us this and I fell in love with this song
I was 6 yrs old when I first heard this song. Not realizing the song was first published in 1942. A black anthem that gave me hope, strength, an outlook to prosper.
My biblical leader taught on the lyrics of this song. Hearing this song brought me to tears 😪😪😪 because I was so alert at this age to realize my parents were separating and we (my mom, me-6, my brother4 and my sister3, youngest sister 2) were walking to our new rental home after moving out of my grandmothers house-after living with her for a year. It brought me to tears because at this age I loved my black family but more than anything- I loved our Black (Israelites) people. This song gave me a feeling if liberty, joy and love. So, never put it past your child that they don't feel- they just don't know how to put it in words (their actions are their words). Stay in the Blessed Israel. Shalom. APTTMH!
I can't stop listening! I cry every time I hear it! So grateful...

This rendition is simply splendid and I don't ever want to forget it, so I came to UA-cam to find it and save it as a favorite video. Blessings!

@@austin4688 I'm not entirely against this song being taught to children, as it has historical value to it. It was written in a time when black people were actually discriminated against. But yeah no doubt a bunch of liberals will use this song to indoctrinate and brainwash people.
