Yup, I remember this. I also remember that the network cancelled Toonami and put Star Wars The Clone Wars on the Friday Night death slot. Fast forward to 2023, and Star Wars The Clone Wars became a cult classic, while Toonami and Adult Swim are singlehandedly keeping Cartoon Network's channel afloat. Goku and Luffy are generational icons now. Where are all the CN Real shows that replaced Toonami and Star Wars? They've been off the air for 15+ years now, and Cartoon Network is getting buried by Warner Bros. The mistakes of 2007-2008 were so bad that it took shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Steven Universe to right the ship...and then 2015 came around and the channel started the bad business practice of oversaturating the network with one show in TTG. Its been a downhill spiral ever since
100% accurate. Yeah basically to sum it up cartoon network was shit and then they fixed their attitude with good animated shows again and then after that then network made another stupid mistake and went back to shit. So yeah it was shit then it was good and then straight back to shit *sighs* when will they learn..
@@Walid-mk4jo Star Wars ALONE seems more lucrative than Cartoon Network as a whole right now. The big rigs at Cartoon Network have to be kicking themselves whenever they see how much traction it has over at Disney right now. Its not just the shows that are gone like Star Wars, One Piece, and Dragon Ball. Even the shows Cartoon Network still have are being held back by questionable creative. Imagine what Disney could do if they acquired Ben 10. They could make an entire cinematic thriller akin to MCU using Ben 10, Generator Rex, and the Secret Saturdays. But instead, Cartoon Network gave us the 2016 reboot. And don't even get me started on the atrocity that's Thundercats Roar.
true, its hard to believe regular show ended 7 years ago, adventure time ended a few years too i think, they dont have much going for them these days, TTG is the CN version of Nick's ' spongebob ' just milking the views. Summer camp island is OK, i find it descent, and i liked we bare bears, and craig of the creek is better than i anticipated having actually just started watching it for the first time some 5-6 years later i think. but, if your network is only creating 1 good show every 2-3 years, its easy to see why CN fell off a cliff
the fact TTG (teen titans go) replaced TT (teen titans) when its OBVIUS TTG was written as an EXTRA "ova" style NEVER ment to replace orig show BUT DID!
My point exactly Murray. I remember talking about this era with my friends before and they agree to how you explained it as well. I think Betty Cohen and Jim samples deserved much praise for helping the renaissance of what made CN so special after Ted Turner made it possible. From 1999-2006 Cartoon Network had legit hit home run with CN city and Cartoon Cartoon Friday’s with MUST WATCH heavy hitters that’s just hard to ignore especially great underrated classics that carried the renaissance of the network until the Fall Era completely changed it.
In my opinion, regardless to how both the yes and fall era was received by not doing fans any favors especially with used of live action programming, their is no doubt that the new lineup of shows that would premiere such as chowder, flapjack, Class of 3000 and total drama would help paved the way while the other og shows from the cartoon cartoons era would still be shown as reruns along with shows that would still be in production until being cut or finished in 2008 like Edd Edd Eddy and Ben 10. Plus lets not forget one of the best crossovers that happened in 2007 such as the grim adventures of the KND.
Most of my early Cartoon Network memories involve the Noods era or the CN City era. I do remember Out of Jimmy’s Head but nothing anything else from the Fall era, besides Chowder, Flapjack, and Ben 10.
Nah more like from 2016-2022 until now and also from the arrival of Teen Titans Go Uncle Grandpa and other crappy/rebooted cartoon shows that triggered the downfall of Cartoon Network shows low quality of the mid to late 2010s to early 2020s.
The final season of Samurai Jack was the last thing I watched from Cartoon Network. May 2017, I think it was. Yeah. I didn't bother coming back after that.
Excellent video Murray! Your series of reviewing all the CN eras have been excellent! I also wanted to point out, but around this time frame, Fridays got cancelled in place of Fried Dynamite (Friday nights) and Dynamite Action Squad (Saturday Mornings) which were awful replacements, this marked the end of the Fridays era that had been going on since 1999, and because Fridays was the only night left CN had a 24 hour day... CN no longer had a 24 hour day after Fridays cancellation. Adult Swim became 7 nights a week like it still is to this day. TOM 4 debuted on Toonami and that was the beginning of the end of the block on CN before its cancellation the following year. The block's lineup became weak and was just Naruto marathons. I started middle school when the Fall era debuted so the timing was just right! Middle school was rough times for me, and so was the Fall era of CN as well! The Powerhouse and City eras were simpler times, which were basically my time in elementary school when I didn't realize how easy I had it then!
A perfect analogy that sums up this chain-of-events is Conquest's of Napoleon Bonaparte everything was great till the "Peninsula War" which while not fatal, still gave the French a bloody noise, then the invasion of "Russia" which torn the Grand Army to shreds and left Napoleon unable to recover. the parallel is all to easy to see, everything went great for "Cartoon Network" up until the "Yes Era" which as you said came off as a "slap to the face" to us fans and finally to this the "Fall Era " Stuart Snyder wrongfully thought he could tap into "live-action" programming and tackle it just as well as Nick and Disney had only to be absolutely decimated i repeat DECIMATED!
You're comparing The Conquest of Napoleon Bonaparte, to Cartoon Networks "fall off era" which only lasted 2 years. And when they finally listened to the fans in 2010-2014 y'all kept overlapping this era with the later CN renaissance they had from 2010-2014.
Dropping Toonami in 2006 I believe was the beginning of the Fall of Cartoon Network. It was its money maker, and someone had the great idea to cancel it. That was one the dumbest moves in the network's history.
Says the elitists who think that anybody who has shows from that era like Transformers Animated,Ben 10 Alien Force,Batman: Brave & Bold, and The Secret Saturdays has no right to be a Cartoon Network fan.
I kinda remember seeing the Fall intro and that band , and thinking... Like why are they showing an 18 year old lead singer , they could have got kids to perform the song even if they decided on that song. Up until that point only like 5 ft kids were ever shown on CN. Also , live action was Disney & Nicks thing. We all loved CN because every time slot they had was KIDS cartoons.
Stu Snyder is an awful person to go lead the network given he had zero experience with the network and CN is about cartoons not live action which he tried to do because Nick and Disney was successfully doing it but that’s a completely wrong decision given that’s not what the channel is supposed to be about. Let’s jot forget that he is racist as well. But to be honest as much as I don’t like him, Christina Miller was a far worser president. CN had a huge renaissance in the early to mid 2010’s thanks to shows like Adventure Time and Gumball but it was her obsession with Teen Titans Go that ruined the network in my opinion given it lead to a lot of awful reboots which lead to CN being what it today: A shell of itself. CN will always be my favorite out of the three channels and I do hope it can make a comeback but the WBD merger is ruining it thanks to David Zaslav’s greedy ass.
It's a shame how many formerly great networks like CN, MTV, Sci-Fi, etc that were started as passion projects from people who were true fans of their respective networks. Only to later be gutted by bland corporate suits thinking they knew what people wanted. 😢
Yeah. CEO's from the 80's and 90's actually had passion for their jobs. They would spend tons of money just to create a product children and adults would love. They had so much passion, they'd create samples of passionate cartoons and let the kids vote for which one they liked the best, to further fund that cartoon.
I agree with most if this, while I can also say that cartoon network wasn't the best place to air live action shows, I will say however that not every live action show it had was bad, I remember destroy build destroy fondly, dude what would happen had some really awesome moments and hole in the wall was a good funny watch but the rest of them like inside jimmy's head and level up were horrible
The big time open CARTOON CARTOON Fridays years were also cool ages here.. Back in the Cartoon Cartoons. When you had so many weird, neat, cool, silly, funny, "cartoon Network adds shows without adding parking spaces" classic commercial.
@@marshallmcdowell1270 - Present cartoon network was truly the downfall, repeat of teen titans go over and over again just made it worse it was the show was on 90% of the time, sure amazing world of gumball, regular show, adventure time, Steven universe, total drama island, sure did help the network rise on some level until later in the series, it just shows how when times moves on things changes, but truly cartoon network will never be the same! Other mention - Craig of the creek, clearance!
@terriqdrayton1402 Clarence makes me feel so good when I watch The sort of show that reminds me why I want to be a kid again. Feels great. Even a network focusing on a good show 24 hours of the day is a bit too much (SB SP: Nicktoons)
From the years of 2006-2010 on a gap of 4 years there were many cancelled Cartoon Network original/acquired shows in the middle of 2000s mid era that more of them meet their ending during those times in a number of 25 cancelled shows: 2006: 4 shows (Teen Titans, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, Justice League Unlimited & Cramp Twins) 2007: 4 shows (The Life And Times Of Juniper Lee, Xiaolin Showdown, Squirrel Boy & The Grims Adventure Of Billy and Mandy) 2008: 8 shows (Codename Kids Next Door, Camp Lazlo, Ben 10 Classic, Class Of 3000, Skunk Fu, My Gym's Partner Is A Monkey, Robotboy & Chop Sockey Chooks) 2009: 3 shows (Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, Transformers Animated & Ed Edd N Eddy) 2010: 6 shows (Chowder, Ben 10 Alien Force, Marveleous Miss Adventure Of Flapjack, Secret Sathurdays, 6Teen & Stoked)
Oh yeah, I started watching CN in 2001 so I was there and that was definitly the golden age of CN with the Powerhouse and CN City eras. Even the Yes era wasn't too bad as it reused a decent amount of CN City asets to some degree and still had an impressive line up of shows, both old and new. That was CN's greatest streagth before the Fall era it's wide selection of shows, new shows, old shows, and even importated shows were all well intergated and balanced, thanks to the Top 5 and Cartoon Cartoon block many old shows still got screen time even long after they ended, plus many of them got to be in the CN City bumpers so it still felt they were a strong part of the network, and even the importated shows felt apart of that by the fact they had magaiznes or posters for Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Totally Spies in the CN City Bumpers, and even through Atomic Betty another importated show didn't get the same representation in CN City it was still a major part of the network given it was one of the big shows airing on Friday Nights to the point the voice actress for Betty even showed up and got interviewed during October 2005 on Fridays. Man Fridays were something great with shows like Fosters, Puffy Ami and Yumi, Ed Edd n Eddy, Billy and Mandy, Duck Dodgers, Atomic Betty, Camp Lazlo, Juniper Lee and so on. I also greatly enjoyed the summer of 2007 for CN, while it wasn't as good as the summer of 2005 I mean that was epic and when we got a lot of great shows and Frdiay Nights were at there peak, 2007 summer was still good, I enjoyed watching new Camp Lazlo's, Cody Lyoko, Pokemon(the Diamond and Pearl series started here the best series in my opinion), and reruns of Ed, Edd n Eddy, it was great. Of course, after that the Fall era came and the cracks began to form with CN getting ride of any shows not still producing new stuff gone were reruns of many great shows, so of which were only a few years old and didn't get to be in reruns for very long, which is sad compared to say how long shows like Dexter and Johnny Bravo were apart of the network even longer after they ended. We even lost Fridays and Toonaim during this time. So when the Nood era began, outside of Tom n Jerry stuff and Scooby Doo stuff(which have always been expections to the rule with how long they have been going on and being rebooted), and some surviving imported shows like Pokemon, Jhoony Test, Total Drama and so on, the only CN original shows that got to be apart of this era was Chowder, Flapjack, Ben 10 because of Alien Force, Fosters which still had a season or so left, and Ed Edd n Eddy which still had a movie left to air, everything else was gone, and all five of these shows would eventually be ditched during the CN Real era after they all ended or in the case of Ben 10 didn't get renewed(Total Drama also feel into this category it not ending but CN choosing not to keep airing it in favor of CN Real stuff like with Ben 10). Now I liked the Nood era when it first started we still had a few classics and the new stuff was pretty fun like Star Wars the Clone Wars my all time favorite show, Pokemon was still great during this time, I really liked imported shows like Johnny Test and 6Teen, but then we got CN Real and one by one we lost so many animated shows to the point that I'm pretty sure at one point the only animated stuff on the network was Pokemon, Star Wars, Scooby Doo, Tom n Jerry, and Johnny Test. CN Real was the true dark age of CN.
@@zexalbrony4799 You say that like you think it's wrong for people like me to grow up with CN's action cartoons like Transformers Animated,Ben 10 Alien Force, and The Secret Saturdays.
CN died from the uncle grandpa era and on. A bunch of similarly animated shows with the actual most brain rot humor if you can even call it that I’ve ever heard.
So what if they have "brainrot" humor? I'll probably take having brainrot humor than to listen to your guys' hypocritical and toxic elitism all day as many times as I effing need to lmfao.
That’s when I feel back. Clarence as well. Chowder was the ignition for the dumb cartoons though. If it never got popular they wouldn’t have put out brain rot shows like they do now
What you mean never heard the meme of "Not every long phrase is a Fall Out Boy song title - The Kaiser Chiefs" or in this case "Kids were not into indie sleaze you out of touch suits only teens and young adults did - Death From Above 1987"
Facts. That era also had a more mature/edgy approach to the shows. Which made it more relatable to teenagers, thus expanding the audience age significantly, so it wasn’t only kids watching CN but a good chunk of high schoolers as well.
You could say it was the "Fall era" in more than one way (You probably already made that joke in the video, I just want to get first comment without being annoying)
I don't remember watching cartoon network in the mid 2000s. I think I got into cartoon network in the 2010s,I watched a ton of Gumball and other shows.
Yeah I’m with you in the 2000s I didn’t grow up with Cartoon Network because I was born in 2004 so I was 4 at 2009 because I thought cartoon network wasn’t a pleasant program for me at that time it was when I started watching Cartoon Network at the 2010s
I mean, I was born in the 2000's but I did also watch CN until 2020's. But then again, I also wouldn't say that if I were you either, you could anger those Nostalgia-blinded savages who were born in the 90's or 2000's when you say that lol.
I remember the summer block before "the fall era" was so good. Probably one of the most memorable for me next to CN city. But I remember the day I turned on the TV, went to channel 72 for Cartoon Network and saw/heard the fall theme play. I remember feeling almost disgusted and said "ew, what is this?" I missed the CN city era, the bumpers. It was all gone. I’ll always remember this era as the fall of Cartoon Network for me.

The fact that companies chose CEOs seemingly based on nepotism and other weird and non productive qualifications is crazy to me. They hired this Stue guy to be the president of a company who didn’t even know or cared about the product of the previous company he worked at.
Honestly i watched and enjoyed... mostly CN from 2002-2012 yes some shows flopped but they were still enjoyable once TTG was added to the channel and dominated almost every time slot i gave up on it thats to me is when CN died not 2007 but 6 years later in 2013
My God, yet I still don't know what year started the downfall to Cartoon Network, and let's be honest, they should know there's a reason why some things shouldn't even be made/existed, or in Teen Titans, Looney Tunes, Powerpuff Girls, or any other shows cases, rebooted since nothing good ever actually comes from them, even some shows before the downfall happened, well some episodes, weren't so great either, no wonder they call it bad writing. Also, just like with Nickelodeon and Disney Channel, I wanted those respective channels, along with Cartoon Network to go back to the way they were.

as a Hives fan... tbh I think they only brought them onboard because of the uniforms. for those who don't know, The Hives have a strict black-and-white dress code. in every public appearance, they'll only wear those two colours. literally, the album they were promoting that year was called "The Black And White Album"!! so I kinda figure the CN executives looked at it and went "hey, these guys are basically wearing our logo already!! let's ask them for a song." considering another gimmick of theirs is that every song is credited only to an evil, shadowy figure known as Randy Fitzsimmons (RIP), that's even more amusing. also they have nicknames. the singer is Howlin' Pelle, if you wanted an easier name for him 😭 so yeah, they might not be the best fit for a cartoon channel, but you can't say they're not a bit cartoony anyway!!

it’s actually quite sad how hard cartoon network has fallen. I remember watching it a lot when I was younger because I wasn’t a big fan of nick and its live action stuff (only issue is I wasn’t able to find the channel on tv and was forced to watch nick until someone put cn on for me) once they got lazy with its scheduling I could tell that it was gonna decline extremely fast. I feel the network just assumed the newer fans wouldn’t like reruns of the older shows and just gave up on it which sucks as the shows from its prime still hold up extremely well today but rip to one of the best channels growing up.
I miss how the Cartoon network used to be. I believe i started tooning out in the yes era. I mainly watched a small selection of shows, and after they stopped producing new episodes, i was done.
I love cartoon network when i was as kid back in the day like 90s and 2004 stuff like that but i noticed sometime there just do rubbish repeating new boring ideas like example like when summer time or spring time there always put repeat same episodes and whole series of nonsense of Teen Titan's Go it rubbish that series plus i likethe amazing world of gumball series and regular shows but there hardly put it on Uk 🇬🇧 it Madness of Teen titans goes i miss old cartoon network 90s and 2004 era I wish travel back in time in that year just watch some best of my childhood memories R.I.P CN
As someone that never had access to Cartoon Network and only ever watched their classics through other channels on my third world tv, it is sad to see the state of the channel.
A bad low lvl employee can cost you hundreds. A bad low lvl boss can cost you thousands. A bad CEO or upper manager can cost you millions. Doesn't matter how many normal people they fire the people up top sink the ship.
7:02-7:14 dont forget about other shows that were acquired from the Cartoon Network studios that came from european studios in the fall era will also be included Robotboy (that show was more fitting into yes to summer era of 2006-2007; Skunk Fu and Chop Sockey Chooks of 2007-2008).
To me, CN started when all of their Cartoon Cartoons series were canceled. It got to the point where I'd only turn CN on when Adult Swim/Toonami came on. I don't even watch that anymore.
As much as everyone can look back and point out when they checked out on a broadcast channel, the problem is all the children's channels are in trouble because with us a decade or so into streaming, few kids that would be the audience for anything on these channels are watching anything on a schedule and never have. It is a fact that many are just going to have to face.
Jim Samples may have been a great president of Cartoon Network but he was the one who started the live action trend. He was the one that greenlighted Out of Jimmy's Head. His plan was supposed turn Cartoon Network into being more kid oriented as Disney and Nick likely a balance between cartoons and live action. But when Stuart Snyder came in he basically just took some of that stuff Jim left on the table and just ran with it only he prior live action over animation.
i was little 2011 in Malaysia it did use astro i did like watch is power puff girls such old memory only i know chowder also billy and Mandy eventing too

I think this era was also when comcast and Cartoon Network decided to force everyone to switch to HD and took the network off basic cable. I don’t remember this era much.
in my own opinion cartoon netwrok started its downfall as soon as they started killing all the good cartoon shows like Ben 10 Teen Titans The original one for anyone thinking i meant GO, Super Robot Monkey Hyperforce Go!, Adventure Time, Justice League, Chowder, Flapjack, The Amazing World Of Gumball, Samurai Jack, Symbionic Titan, Generator Rex and other fantastic shows, and Instead we got The Crappy Version of Ben 10, Teen Titans GO!, and Yes it could be argued that Gumball Is also on that list but its speculative because while gumball is a childish show by the scripts it goes by and the setting it also has plenty of adult humor, we also got things like Uncle Grandpa, Peppa Pig please let me forget about the cursed images that surge through my nightmares, In my eyes It wasn't just the shows as a whole that Killed cartoon network, it was the lazy showr writing, crappy jokes, A Scoped aimed directly at kids who they hoped had no braincells but instead they originally had braincells to begin with and ended with barely enough to be able to tell people how bad and horrifying it was to watch shows like Teen Titans and Ben 10 Be Defiled by their once favorite Cartoon Studio Cartoon Network in exchange for A Cheap And Easy Cashgrab from not the kids but their parents wanting to put on a TV show for their kid to watch so they could go do something for a couple of hours and get away from their kids, Cartoon Network Was Doomed to Fail as soon as the Network Executives exchanged Quality TV show Writing For Quick and easy cashgrabs and crappy TV shows that repeated stupid jokes along with bad animation bad writing and a horrifying Nightmare of a snooty Pink Pig by the name of Peppa.
Buddy I Feel The Same Way But With The Fox Network from 2000-2005 and I lived It shows like Malcolm In The Middle, That '70s Show, The Bernie Mac Show, 24, and American Idol were the go to shows for that time It was kinda stale If Fox didn't renew Family Guy after Adult Swim made It a hit well thing would be different and American Dad too even established hits like MADtv The Simpsons and Cops weren't making huge numbers and I'm going to leave out the Fox Box / 4Kids TV for length purposes
I grew up with the era of CN with Regular Show, Adventure Time, Gumball, Clarence, Steven Universe, and Uncle Grandpa. With Boomerang at the time, I also could watch Teen Titans, Foster's Home for Imagenary Friends, Codename:KND, and Dexter. So I am shocked this era was a thing before the era I grew with and the classics that I liked
From 2016-2022 until now and also from the arrival of Teen Titans Go and Uncle Grandpa that triggered the downfall of Cartoon Network shows low quality of the 2010s.
I was a 90s early 00s cartoon network watcher. But one cartton well two shows that gave me 90s-era vibes were the adventures of gumball and craig of the creek.
The era that I remember the most is the Powerhouse and the CN City eras because OH MY GOODNESS, did it not only shape my childhood but effectively taught me how to speak english before primary school or Grade 1!
I still haven't forgiven CN for cancelling Megas XLR and Sym-Bionic Titan. I have a love for giant robots and watch a ton of anime like Gundam, Macross, Evangelion and Code Geass, and CN decides to dip their toes in this pool. Megas XLR was a really fun show, asking what *you* would do if you had a giant robot, and Sym-Bionic Titan had an unfolding story that we never got to see the end of. but, Megas went over budget and Titan couldn't make a big profit because of something about toys. If both shows kept going, we easily could've seen a crossover like what happened with Ben 10 and Generator Rex. Megas Vs Titan. there was so many opportunities we never got to see.
In India we had alot of the old Hanna Barbara shows along with the originals and Pokemon. For me that was the golden period of cartoon network from 1998 to 2004. How I miss that old chequered logo.
Cartoon Network died for me in 2008, mainly because of the lame promos & bumpers. The era where the bland, colorless, and soulless "Noods" took over, replacing the CN crossover promos & bumpers that have ambiance and atmosphere. There is also no more Cartoon Network Fridays, that fun series starring Tommy Snider and Nzinga Blake.
Sure you do, I even bet you also love to bash anybody who loved 2008-09 Cartoon Network shows like Ben 10 Alien Force and The Secret Saturdays since I happened to be one of those people that grew up with those shows. So go ahead, ya 90's elitist scumbag, attack me for no reason after what I just said like how the rest of your kind always does lmao.
Whatever era Steven Universe started. Around that time Adult Swim was also struggling. The entire network was crap and is what drove me away. Actually, it started before Steven Universe. I just really dislike Steven Universe. So it's getting the blame.
Honestly the last time I ever looked at Cartoon Network was when they brought back Samurai Jack and finished it, which was great while it lasted but felt bittersweet to say the least. I don't even remember what year that was. 2017?

This might make some people mad but I never liked Uncle grandpa , steven universe , regular show , chowder. .... the early 2000s linup with ED edd and Eddy , courage the cowardly dog, johhny bravo, powerpuff girls , dexters labratory e.t.c was by far the best era. The newer shows I didn't like seemed like they were all for children below the age of 8 and seemed derrivative of each other in both their stories and animation style. Just felt inferior to pretty much anything ide already seen too.
You didn’t like regular show or chowder? Those two shows are like the huge cornerstones of Cartoon Network, imo regular show and adventure time really saved Cartoon Network after the CN Real shit

Hit the nail on the head with the live action shows. The fact they also aired live action game shows instead of what CN was known for really killed it for me all those years back. To this day, besides the failed change in leadership, im fairly sure the live action shows were brought up to compete with the Disney channel, which had a combination of both.
Cheese from Foster's home for imaginary friends, Fredfredburger from Grim Adventures, was the start of the downfall and Mighty Magiswords were the confirmation.
I remember this era having some of my favorite shows being a late 90's kid. Out of Jimmy's head is underrated, this show was so cool being unique for what they did. I don't remember when they did fanboy and chum chum but I miss that one too
Nope, to me it in the 2020's. Because unlike you toxic elitists, my enjoyment of Cartoon Network was still kickin' in the 2000's and 2010's and also because elite losers like you forget that it was LEGO's Mixels and Spin Master's Tenkai Knights shows who aired on Cartoon Network along with Ben 10 Omniverse are why I call myself worthy of being a CN fan too. You can think those days long past all you want, but to me? those days will live forever. One of these days, I hope other CN fans start a rebellion to overthrow your Nostalgia-blinded tyranny lol.
I rember the CN city era and the snoods but not the Fall era that was inbetween. The best thing from Out of Jimmy's head was the father. Having him get stuck in the jungle gym in the background when Jimmy and his mom were talking is still funny.
The summer and fall eras of Cartoon Network killed the good vibes from the early to late 2007 until 2008 as we have more than 10 cartoon shows (getting cancelled between 2007-2008 (in total of dozen great to underrated shows have been cancelled just for the sake of live action shows that stink horrible to the audience): 2007: The Grims Adventure Of Billy and Mandy, Juniper Lee, Squirrel Boy and Xiaolin Showdown (4) 2008: Codename Kids Next Door, Camp Lazlo, Ben 10, Class of 3000, Robotboy, Chop Sockey Chooks, My Gym's Partner Is A Monkey & Skunk Fu (8)
I loved CN until like the late 2010-2015 era I think. The only shows keeping me on CN was Regular Show, Gumball and Adventure, more RS and Gumball. and I just gravitated out of CN over time. I didn’t even know those shows kept going so long until I thought to see what happened with them
The Teen Titan's Go! Era is what killed Cartoon Network, all Teen Titan's Go! All the time. Almost All newcoming cartoons were left to dry out in obscurity because of Teen Titans Go!
7:45, It really just feels like anytime someone with the last name “Snyder” gets involved with the entertainment industry (animation, wrestling or otherwise) it’s almost guaranteed that something bad will follow.
honestly it was the reality show era that really killed cartoon network. the fall era just poked a whole, after the reality show era they started targeting teen and young adult with stoner media like regular show and adventure time. honestly do you really believe children where watching that. then we started getting stuff like steven universe aimed at 30 something wine moms. they tried to rebrand back to kids with teen titans go, but that's the only thing the could make stick so they played it on repeat all the times. I'm sorry. i highly doubt the racists boss had any effect on the channel what so ever/ i can guarantee the general public had no idea. 2007 myspace had just begun to die. Facebook was just growing and UA-cam was mostly music and short clips for old tv shows along with music videos , made with windows media plays and clips from shows and pirated music.
I remembered cartoon network had live action shows and would immediately, just disappear and be left forgotton like "dude what would happen" and andrew K "build destroy". I even still remembered they had a game show called hole in the wall which was a pretty good show and even had there own version of ghost hunters.
I would have to agree that this era was the start and it was slowly but surely snowballing as time went on. I am a full grown adult that grew up to wayyyy back of Dexter’s Laboratory, Johny Bravo and Ed Edd Eddy, along with many other later cartoons like Ben 10, Code name kids next door, and Teen Titans. (the good one) there was something odd imo when older and some of the good newer cartoons were being flushed out the schedule for…. Chowder? There was something about the art, the characters and the…awkward moments and noises they would often make that made me turn away from it, maybe i was getting old and watching too much of the DC cartoons and anime at the time. Either way, cool take on it. I’m a sad old man clinging on to Boomerang for nostalgia and some of the classics
Also doesn't help that Toonami ended in this era. But Yea that's when I knew my Childhood was on its farewell tour. Toms goodbye was the beginning of the end for me personally.
9:42 isnt that often a situation that unfolds whenever there is new manahement and decide to hire someone on the outside or with no experience, only some rich-esque type stuff
They could make an entire cinematic thriller akin to MCU using Ben 10, Generator Rex, and the Secret Saturdays. true, its hard to believe regular show ended 7 years ago, adventure time ended a few years too i think, they dont have much going for them these days, TTG is the CN version of Nick's ' spongebob ' just milking the views.
The “we have no budget” era

I lost cable when the YES era started and got it back during the Noods era. So I guess I'm glad I missed out on this era
Noods*
The only problem with YES was the presentation. You still had quality content running all throughout.
Crazy, same here😮
Stu Snyder is an awful person to go lead the network given he had zero experience with the network and CN is about cartoons not live action which he tried to do because Nick and Disney was successfully doing it but that’s a completely wrong decision given that’s not what the channel is supposed to be about.
Seems like anybody with either the last name Snyder or the first name Dan ends up being a terrible person 😂

Yes: Robotboy, Tom n Jerry, Ed Edd n Eddy, Fred Flintstones, Family Adams, Cow and Chicken, I Am Weasel all in one day.
CN Real was the true dark age of CN.

so I kinda figure the CN executives looked at it and went "hey, these guys are basically wearing our logo already!! let's ask them for a song." considering another gimmick of theirs is that every song is credited only to an evil, shadowy figure known as Randy Fitzsimmons (RIP), that's even more amusing.
also they have nicknames. the singer is Howlin' Pelle, if you wanted an easier name for him 😭
so yeah, they might not be the best fit for a cartoon channel, but you can't say they're not a bit cartoony anyway!!
Murryvation uploaded???!!!!! Can’t wait to watch

Please can you do the remaining 6 eras of Cartoon Network reviews about them next time about: noods, check it, dimensional, redraw your world, mashup and pastel eras if you can do, and BTW love your reviews about Cartoon Network eras.
it’s actually quite sad how hard cartoon network has fallen.
The only rubbish I see is the CN fandom itself falling into the rabbit hole of toxic Nostalgia-blinded elitism lol.
I hope these fall bumpers could someday be in HD/4k resolution
As someone that never had access to Cartoon Network and only ever watched their classics through other channels on my third world tv, it is sad to see the state of the channel.
A bad low lvl employee can cost you hundreds. A bad low lvl boss can cost you thousands. A bad CEO or upper manager can cost you millions. Doesn't matter how many normal people they fire the people up top sink the ship.
"Nectwork"... When you realize how he says Cartoon "Network" you won't be able to unhear it.
Cartoon Network should air their old shows at this point
7:02-7:14 dont forget about other shows that were acquired from the Cartoon Network studios that came from european studios in the fall era will also be included Robotboy (that show was more fitting into yes to summer era of 2006-2007; Skunk Fu and Chop Sockey Chooks of 2007-2008).
Where you get that hoodie from gee?
I wanna say Etsy. My girl got me it. Also apologies for the slow reply
Haven't watched CN in probably over 13 years . Have no idea what's going on
i was little 2011 in Malaysia it did use astro i did like watch is power puff girls such old memory only i know chowder also billy and Mandy eventing too
The evolution rise and fall of cartoon shows from Cartoon Network by generations, decades, years, eras and ages that we grew up with:
#1. Years of 1992-1998: Classic era
#2. Years of 1998-2004: Iconic era
#3. Years of 2004-2007: Golden era
#4. Years of 2007-2010: Mid era
#5. Years of 2010-2013: Renaissance era
#6. Years of 2013-2016: Silver era
#7. Years of 2016-2021: Dark era
#8. Years of 2021-2024: Modern era
2009 was a bad year not an era. 2019 to present has been a bad era.
The Hives were a Swedish band back around 2002 with the hit “Hate To Say I Told You So.”
So they have a thing so long song titles 😂
I think this era was also when comcast and Cartoon Network decided to force everyone to switch to HD and took the network off basic cable. I don’t remember this era much.
The Jim Samples era is greatly missed.😢
in my own opinion cartoon netwrok started its downfall as soon as they started killing all the good cartoon shows like Ben 10 Teen Titans The original one for anyone thinking i meant GO, Super Robot Monkey Hyperforce Go!, Adventure Time, Justice League, Chowder, Flapjack, The Amazing World Of Gumball, Samurai Jack, Symbionic Titan, Generator Rex and other fantastic shows, and Instead we got The Crappy Version of Ben 10, Teen Titans GO!, and Yes it could be argued that Gumball Is also on that list but its speculative because while gumball is a childish show by the scripts it goes by and the setting it also has plenty of adult humor, we also got things like Uncle Grandpa, Peppa Pig please let me forget about the cursed images that surge through my nightmares, In my eyes It wasn't just the shows as a whole that Killed cartoon network, it was the lazy showr writing, crappy jokes, A Scoped aimed directly at kids who they hoped had no braincells but instead they originally had braincells to begin with and ended with barely enough to be able to tell people how bad and horrifying it was to watch shows like Teen Titans and Ben 10 Be Defiled by their once favorite Cartoon Studio Cartoon Network in exchange for A Cheap And Easy Cashgrab from not the kids but their parents wanting to put on a TV show for their kid to watch so they could go do something for a couple of hours and get away from their kids, Cartoon Network Was Doomed to Fail as soon as the Network Executives exchanged Quality TV show Writing For Quick and easy cashgrabs and crappy TV shows that repeated stupid jokes along with bad animation bad writing and a horrifying Nightmare of a snooty Pink Pig by the name of Peppa.
CN City was peak their Halloween bumpers were the best Halloween bumpers they’ve ever put out
Buddy I Feel The Same Way But With The Fox Network from 2000-2005 and I lived It shows like Malcolm In The Middle, That '70s Show, The Bernie Mac Show, 24, and American Idol were the go to shows for that time It was kinda stale If Fox didn't renew Family Guy after Adult Swim made It a hit well thing would be different and American Dad too even established hits like MADtv The Simpsons and Cops weren't making huge numbers and I'm going to leave out the Fox Box / 4Kids TV for length purposes
I think the downfall of CN was the late 2010’s
The Cartoon Network rise and fall evolution of shows ranking over the course of generations, years, eras & ages that we grew up with them:
#1. Classic Era (years of 1992-1995)
#2. Iconic Era (years of 1996-2004)
#3. Golden Era (years of 2004-2007)
#4. Mid Era (years of 2008-2010)
#5. Renaissance Era (years of 2010-2013)
#6. Silver Era (years of 2014-2016)
#7. Bronz to Dark Era (years of 2016-2021)
#8. Modern Era (years of 2021-2024)
This might make some people mad but I never liked Uncle grandpa , steven universe , regular show , chowder. .... the early 2000s linup with ED edd and Eddy , courage the cowardly dog, johhny bravo, powerpuff girls , dexters labratory e.t.c was by far the best era. The newer shows I didn't like seemed like they were all for children below the age of 8 and seemed derrivative of each other in both their stories and animation style. Just felt inferior to pretty much anything ide already seen too.
Whatever, nobody cares.
You didn’t like regular show or chowder? Those two shows are like the huge cornerstones of Cartoon Network, imo regular show and adventure time really saved Cartoon Network after the CN Real shit
@@Somdeb10 Ngl, as the only CN fan that grew up with shows like Ben 10,Secret Saturdays, and Generator Rex? I hope elitists like him who said all that crap get purged for all the times they've claimed themselves to be the "superior" CN fans and think of us as inferior CN fans compared to them.
regular show for people the age 8 below? have u seen the show? u really think its for people below the age of 8?
Bro idc what no one says dude what would happen one of the greatest shows of all time
@ROCBOI-wr3uh its a dumb fun show. If I gave it a chance as a kid I know I would have liked it
Kids slowly not being into cartoons anymore killed Cartoon Network.
There's no such thing as kids not liking cartoons. Even adults like cartoons.
@@younglove3362 dude with the amount of entertainment on the internet and online video games. I don’t think kids are really into cartoons like that anymore.
@mizuko6132
You know that video games and cartoons have been around for many many years, right? And most games require you to spend money 💰, something kids don't have.

Personally I thought Cartoon Network hit an all time low when it started releasing we bear bears and the abomination that is teen titans go.
Dude -_- we bare bears was so good
It was one of the best cartoon network shows
@@Telgdshhj and I can respect that opinion. Just personally, I found it to be terrible
@@Telgdshhj no is not
i liked we bare bears, but it seemed aimed at a age group of about 6-10, of course i was watching it at age 27 LoL
We Bear Bears was great. Why didn't you like it?
What ever era it is that let cn run teen titans go dawn to dusk for god knows how long
I absolutely hated it when they replaced the CN city bumpers with this
I remember this era having some of my favorite shows being a late 90's kid. Out of Jimmy's head is underrated, this show was so cool being unique for what they did. I don't remember when they did fanboy and chum chum but I miss that one too
For me it died in the summer of 2013 😭😭😭
Because of teen titans go & uncle grandpa ?
@@Anis_Marco27 teen titans go and uncle grandpa were trash for me personally they weren’t fun to watch frfr
That sounds about right. I haven't seen any new shows since then that sparked my interest on CN.

@@monster-mecha_enthusiast_2002 lol yappin away 😂💀Cartoon network 2000 to 2012 was way better then 2020 🤦♂️learn facts
When they started showing ppl instead of cartoons I was over it
Did the out of Jimmy's head channel get taken down??? That show is a fever dream from my childhood.
I rember the CN city era and the snoods but not the Fall era that was inbetween. The best thing from Out of Jimmy's head was the father. Having him get stuck in the jungle gym in the background when Jimmy and his mom were talking is still funny.
Cartoon network goes down when they stop being a network for cartoons
Are you saying "Neckwort" instead of Network throughout this whole video?
The summer and fall eras of Cartoon Network killed the good vibes from the early to late 2007 until 2008 as we have more than 10 cartoon shows (getting cancelled between 2007-2008 (in total of dozen great to underrated shows have been cancelled just for the sake of live action shows that stink horrible to the audience):
2007: The Grims Adventure Of Billy and Mandy, Juniper Lee, Squirrel Boy and Xiaolin Showdown (4)
2008: Codename Kids Next Door, Camp Lazlo, Ben 10, Class of 3000, Robotboy, Chop Sockey Chooks, My Gym's Partner Is A Monkey & Skunk Fu (8)
I loved CN until like the late 2010-2015 era I think. The only shows keeping me on CN was Regular Show, Gumball and Adventure, more RS and Gumball. and I just gravitated out of CN over time. I didn’t even know those shows kept going so long until I thought to see what happened with them
My gym partner is a monkey was the aids that killed CN for me when I was littler. Power to you if u didnt find that show as annoying as I did.
Cartoon Network
Fred Fredburger: YES!
Me: How about "NO?!"
Fr, Snyder is like a cursed name in the industry lol
honestly it was the reality show era that really killed cartoon network. the fall era just poked a whole, after the reality show era they started targeting teen and young adult with stoner media like regular show and adventure time. honestly do you really believe children where watching that. then we started getting stuff like steven universe aimed at 30 something wine moms. they tried to rebrand back to kids with teen titans go, but that's the only thing the could make stick so they played it on repeat all the times.
I'm sorry. i highly doubt the racists boss had any effect on the channel what so ever/ i can guarantee the general public had no idea.
(the good one)
there was something odd imo when older and some of the good newer cartoons were being flushed out the schedule for….
Great video terrific editing. You deserve more subs.
Also doesn't help that Toonami ended in this era. But Yea that's when I knew my Childhood was on its farewell tour. Toms goodbye was the beginning of the end for me personally.
