This just popped up. I would have liked to have seen this at the time. I was in Ireland in May and June and I would have liked to have met with you. What part of Ireland are you in? I was in Dublin, Cork, Inis, Tralee Killarney and Galway. I bought a small "Leprechaun" for my grandson. I told him that Seamus only speaks 'Leprechaun' but will speak with him, if he learns. I always greet my grandson and ask "Ca bhuil Seamus?" to try and reenforce and Irish I can get him to speak. His mother, my daughter, invented that Irish is Leprechaun, when a co-worker asked her what language it was. Go raith maith agat.

@@BitesizeIrish O' Donovan originated around Limerick and later migrated to County Cork. I got to see Castle Donovan in Drimoleague. The most expensive bird house in the world. It was interesting. I would like to know if Drimoleague is in the Munster Gaeltacht. I did go to Macroom for some Mozzarella cheese, so I got to the Gaeltacht and didn't know it.

Thank you so so much for this chat! 💗 It's I exactly what I've been needing. I'm an American, married to a Sligo native, currently living in the States. We have 3 young children ages 5, 4 (born in Sligo), & 4months. I know absolutely no Irish, and Seamus' is very basic (just what he learned in school, and not used since), but I deeply believe that the Irish language is part of their birth right and something I want to make available to them. I've struggled finding resources outside of simply watching cúla4. These that you've listed are fantastic 👏 i cant wait to dig in! One more resource I'm looking for would be very basic phonics, such as the alphabet with the sounds of each letter and corresponding words. In English we watch a show called Alphablocks which is absolutely brilliant. Is there anything out there in Irish???

"Speak Irish Now" has 14 lessons on UA-cam for FREE. Duolingo has something although I can't speak to the quality. RTE does a course called "Buntus Cainte", which is a little fast for my liking. "Bite Size Irish seems to go at just the right pace.
