Love this! Helpful tip, place a pin across the top of the buttonhole when cutting open buttonholes, will stop you slipping through and potentially cutting further than the buttonhole (unfortunately learnt the hard way with that one!) 😅
Your version clearly is better, your craftsmanship shows. I love it so much and i don't wear dresses, lol. I would like to make it into a jacket though for me or a long top.
Oh, Janelle. I am going to miss your sewing blogs so much! I am very happy for your new upcoming adventure. I love this dress! It is so you! You are my favorite🦁
Have you thought of buying a steamer? That would save you from having to iron the ruffles flat at the waist. I got mine from Walmart for about $30. I hang the garment by a hanger onto the shower rod and steam away. It's great to use in place of an iron when you don't want to flatten garment features.
Very cute dress! I'm almost done with a button up dress too...I put in a million button holes last night (my dress is midi length with button cuffs 🥴) and all I have left is the buttons! I can't wait to wear it. It's still cold where I live and my dress is made of corduroy...😀 Thanks for another nice video!
actually im a man who start to sew like 6 years ago or more than this , i had some challenges to find a man pattern so what im doing is i use burda sewing pattern for women and i take the right size for me then i make some changes so it can fir my test
I love this pattern but now I have a dilemma….i cut it out on 4 way stretch knit fabric. I still haven’t sewn anything but I started researching after cutting and it seems like it might not work, due to the weight and stretch. Also I am still a bit confused on how to top stitch on a knit but I will probably do a zigzag stitch. I said yolo when I cut it so we’ll see how it turns out 😆
Love the dress, I've been waiting for this video as I also bought the sheets when I saw your fabric haul video! I want to do a different style but love your dress and thank you for another inspiring video! 👍
your version is beautiful! and you made everything look so easy😅 but i do have a suggestion... i think your dress will look even better if the sleeves are slightly longer, then it will create a more natural puffy effect to the sleeves and make the whole dress look sweeter❤
Your version is better by far. The other one looks awkward. Yours is tailored yet casual and perfect !! Looks amazing on you!! Great job!! If you had a store front and sold ready made dresses I would buy so many from you, love your style and quality of your work.
I absolutely love this dress, it really suits you. Thank you for another sewing lesson and its great to know i can switch the arms between dresses. Another week closer to japan! Xx
Love the pattern ❤ I’m just wondering why you didn’t match the serge stitch to the top stitch. Did you use the white thread on purpose for the video tutorial?
Lovely dress! Thanks for filming these great & helpful videos 😊 As a beginner at sewing, I noticed you use fabric scissors most of the time to cut out your pattern pieces. I was wondering if this is due to preferring scissors over a rotary cutter, or if there is a benefit of one method over the other? I'm finding it tricky to cut nice lines with my scissors and tend to go for the rotary cutter more and more! Cheers again for your awesome content! 😊
Ultimately use whatever you find easiest! I personally prefer scissors for dressmaking, mainly because I like to use a cutting mat when using rotary cutters, but I do use a rotary cutter when cutting lots of similar shapes out like for quilting x
I so enjoy your videos….when I see the latest appear I grab a cuppa and relax watching your next project unfold! Don’t you love using sheets and table cloths? Janelle have you started speeding up the sewing part even more than before? It just seems to race before my eyes these days and I almost have trouble keeping up… maybe it is more a comment on my ageing than the speeding up of the videos🙃 just doesn’t seem as relaxing as before… you must be heading off on your Japan adventure soon…safe travels and I hope you love it….I can see a lot of Japanese materials and inspiration soon!
Depends on your size! You can find the exact fabric amounts for each size in the images here: www.roseryapparel.com/shop/the-daisy-pattern-digital-4-14
I love it another stunning creation i was wearing my daisy dress today, quick question i know u only put the bust darts in on the front but on the back did you put the darts in i just couldn’t make it out
love it! when sewing the opening closed for the elastic cuff, I always get the elastic caught where I sew meaning it is straight at one point. Do you have any tips as to how you can avoid that?
I always make sure to stretch the elastic out while I sew the opening closed and I always make the opening at the part of the sleeve that is facing towards my body so it’s hidden as much as possible 😊
Really cute! Do you think this pattern of yours works with a heavier fabric, like a light corduroy? I'm keen on sewing some corduroy dresses for my daughter and I😁
Beautiful job on this copy of the Instagram dress!! I must agree that I like yours better! The fabric and fit are perfect. One day I’m going to get up the nerve to try making something from a bedsheet. I always love your outcome! Hope you are doing well with your move!😊
Very cute! My instinct would have been black buttons. Did you consider that? Why did you choose the buttons you did? Sometimes my own choices bore me and I would like to understand your process.
Definitely your version is my favorite. Your fabric's texture and color gave it more structure and uniqueness... Beautiful!
Aw wow thank you so much 🧡
SO CUTE!!! I like your version so much better!!!
Aw thanks so much! 😄
Agreed!
Same! It’s so cute and I love the polka dots! 😍
This is one of the cutest dresses I've seen you make! What a winning project!
Aw thanks Pat! 🧡
Oh my god, it has pockets!!! Beautiful!
I love you version of the dress much better!
Oh, Janelle. I am going to miss your sewing blogs so much! I am very happy for your new upcoming adventure. I love this dress! It is so you! You are my favorite🦁
Wow! I love your dress! It's amazing. ❤
It's beautiful, have fun wearing it🤗😘
It’s adorable, frankly I like your version better!

I hang the garment by a hanger onto the shower rod and steam away. It's great to use in place of an iron when you don't want to flatten garment features.
The dress is even more beautiful than the original inspiration. I prefer yours as it is not oversized...
My favorite one! Brava!
Thank you 🧡🧡
I looooooove this dress. That is one of my fave colors and you top it off with the polka dots. Amazingly precious!
Thank you! Love a good polka dot dress 😍
I’m going to make this beauty using your pattern! Thank u Janelle. What size buttons did u use, please?
The finished dress looks better than the original!
Oh yes! Your dress is soooo much cuter! I love it!!
Your version of the dress Janelle is better than the original to be honest. The fabric print and the fit looks perfect and elegant.
Love the fabric. Not sure if it's the colour or the polka dots but the combination is very attractive. Love the finished dress❤️👍🏻
I love yours even better than the original! I personally would’ve made mine longer but it looks literally amazing.
Beautiful. I’ve always avoided button front dress as I thought they were complicated . However after watching this I’m inspired thank you 😀
Thank you! Buttonholes really aren’t too difficult, they are just a bit time consuming 😊
Way cuter!
I love your shade of nail polish!
The dress and the fabric are sooo beautiful! ❤
Love the polka dots!
So beautiful 😊
Yours is sooooo much better! Love it
Oh wow thanks! I’m so happy with how it turned out 🥰

Love finally getting all of those buttonholes done!
Beautiful dress. I really like your version better. Loving the polka dots! 👗🧵🪡🥰
Beautiful and much better than the original x
Once again an inspiring & gorgeous make!! Love the new location for showing off the finished dress as well 😊
Thank you! It was fun to go somewhere a little bit different x
Love this dress.💖
I can't wait to make one just like yours!
Beautiful! I like that the bodice on yours is fitted to you; it gives it a nice touch
I love this dress
Lovely. Everything you do seems so effortless. Very inspirational.
Aw thank you 🧡
Your dress is way nicer ❤.
Ooo great fabric and great model. Yours is better 🤩🥰😍
actually im a man who start to sew like 6 years ago or more than this , i had some challenges to find a man pattern so what im doing is i use burda sewing pattern for women and i take the right size for me then i make some changes so it can fir my test

So adorable 🥰 love the addition of polkadots and elastic sleeves!
I love this pattern but now I have a dilemma….i cut it out on 4 way stretch knit fabric. Also I am still a bit confused on how to top stitch on a knit but I will probably do a zigzag stitch. I said yolo when I cut it so we’ll see how it turns out 😆
I love it!!! Definitely i will do it as well
So nice ❤ I’m in love with this one.
So cute! Love the fabric and the final result!
Love the dress, I've been waiting for this video as I also bought the sheets when I saw your fabric haul video! I want to do a different style but love your dress and thank you for another inspiring video! 👍
Have fun making your own bedsheet dress! It’s was such lovely fabric to work with x
Beautiful dress! Great job.
Well done! Very cute dress!
I love your dress. Your version is mu favourite. Can you make a pattern of this?
your version is beautiful!
and you made everything look so easy😅
but i do have a suggestion...
i think your dress will look even better if the sleeves are slightly longer,
then it will create a more natural puffy effect to the sleeves and make the whole dress look sweeter❤
You nailed it 👏
Your dress a lot better and looks great on you.
Well done 👍
A beautiful copy of the other pattern dress, Janelle.
Your dress looks very comfortable. 😀
You did a fantastic job!
Just beautiful and better than the original
It looks lovely, when do you leave for Japan? Wishing you lots of luck in your travels.xx
Looks amazing!

Looks soooo beautiful!!! Now I want one!!! 😅

Thank you so much!! I’m so in love with this dress and it turned out even better then I could have hoped 😍
I absolutely love this dress, it really suits you. Thank you for another sewing lesson and its great to know i can switch the arms between dresses.
Another week closer to japan! Xx
Sooooooo cuteee!!!!!!!!!! I really want to make one but my sewing skills is 0 to none..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love it, I bought the daisy pattern and I have had no time to really sew . but this one is a must :D
I love it!
This is so inspirational. ❤
Well done! Looks great compared with the original! Spot on! You should be proud of your accomplishment.
very nice job!
So cute! The fit is perfect on you, and i love the color! The other dress would have been much baggier, and not as fun of a fabric! Love love love!
Aw thank you! I actually prefer the fit of this one so much more 😍
Why did you do the overlocking with white thread? It really shows on the inside.
Because I’m too lazy to change the overlocker threads and as they’re hidden on the inside it doesn’t matter 😂
Love the pattern ❤ I’m just wondering why you didn’t match the serge stitch to the top stitch. Did you use the white thread on purpose for the video tutorial?
Lovely dress! Thanks for filming these great & helpful videos 😊

So lovely! I think your dress is a much nicer version and fit :)
You are so talented! I’ve been re-watching all of your videos lately. ❤
Thanks so much Lena! Rewatching my videos is an amazing way to support my channel so I really appreciate it 🧡 x
Wow!
Very cute dress..
Deine Nähvideos sind eine schöne Bereicherung und tolle Quelle für Inspiration. Was machst du mit all diesen Kleidern?
pattern for this dress pleassssseeeee!
Beautiful, do you use either use interfacing and or stay stitch at neck so it doesn't stretch out?
Your dress is adorable!
Is there a reason you don't use any interfacing or do any understitching on your facings?
Yours is better! Well done, as always!
Aw thank you so much! 🧡
Hi. I think yours looks much more fitted at the bodice than the original, it looks stunning.
Yeah it ended up a bit more fitted then planned, but I actually love the look of it even more 😍
I so enjoy your videos….when I see the latest appear I grab a cuppa and relax watching your next project unfold! Don’t you love using sheets and table cloths? Thanks for the feedback! I’ve actually been trying to slow down the process more then my older videos, but I’ll keep that in mind when editing 😊
Beautiful fabric ❤ you make one of my favourite videos in UA-cam ❤
Thank you! That really means a lot 🧡
Perfect! ❤
Love it so much! How much fabric did you use? I want to do one myself 😍
Depends on your size! You can find the exact fabric amounts for each size in the images here: www.roseryapparel.com/shop/the-daisy-pattern-digital-4-14
I love it another stunning creation i was wearing my daisy dress today, quick question i know u only put the bust darts in on the front but on the back did you put the darts in i just couldn’t make it out
Yes I did put the back ones in! You could totally skip them though if you want an even looser fit x
Your version definitely came out better.
love it! when sewing the opening closed for the elastic cuff, I always get the elastic caught where I sew meaning it is straight at one point.
I'm keen on sewing some corduroy dresses for my daughter and I😁
Yes a light corduroy would work really nicely! x
how many meters of fabric is required to stich this beautiful dress ??
Beautiful job on this copy of the Instagram dress!! I must agree that I like yours better! The fabric and fit are perfect. One day I’m going to get up the nerve to try making something from a bedsheet. I always love your outcome! Hope you are doing well with your move!😊
Very cute! My instinct would have been black buttons. Did you consider that? Why did you choose the buttons you did? Sometimes my own choices bore me and I would like to understand your process.
She said she wanted to match the original dress as much as possible. But I agree black would look better
I really liked how the buttons stood out on the original dress and wanted the same for mine. Black would have worked nicely too 😊
Love your video 👍🌺🌿🏵☘🌻🌵🌹
