Very nice! Quick and to the point 💪🏼💪🏼
Thanks homie! Just the way we like it
Would be nice to see what this does for the inlet air temp in different circumstances (static vs driving around)
Is it normal for the blanket to smell like a cookout and for some smoke to come out right after install?
Great video but it was such a pain to install especially the intake being in the way and the wires not wanting to work with me. Overall it improved boost build up and engine noise
You’re right lol it was a pain with the turbo inlet all on the way. Glad to hear you were able to get it done.
3:41 stock reads 165side-180 top
3:42 Prl reads 170side-250 top
So my question is this. It keeps the overall temperature down aka heat soaking is less, where it should; but wouldn’t that warm up your intake air? Especially if the prl isn’t as efficient at the top. Heat rises, so that tells me that your just gonna warm up your air before the turbo even gets it. You still running this? How’s long term life? I have a new 22 Si and want to keep the engine happy. No power mods, just longevity mods. Ngl, this kinda seems like a placebo. Maybe if it could keep the top closed off better but since it’s left open. That’s where the shield is best. The sides is where the prl is best. 50/50 on that one
Yes still rubbing it, got for the absolute best result, I find that running this in combination with the stock heat shield is best. I eventually even put some gold tape under the inlet pipe and that made a pretty big difference
Lol running* not rubbing
@@lui.racing I’m glad you mentioned you’re running both. I was thinking about that once I had commented. Will definitely get one then.
@@truthseeker9026 I should make a follow up to this video. But you’ll feel the difference.
Very carefully feel the heat coming off of the inlet pipe before you install it and then do the same after.
Cutest mod ever… time to tuck in that turbo, keep her nice and cozy 😂 PRL got some dope shit for the 10th and 11th gen. I wanna get a 2022 Si, but California has the worst mark ups in the world… selling these at FK8 Type R MSRP’s.
Haha 😂
Yeah man mark ups are ridiculous! Should be a crime to charge so much over MSRP for cars
Nice good luck with channel growth
Thank you!! 🙏
Useful and good video quality 👍
Glad you liked it! Thanks for the support 🙏
Sik! Definitely good start.
Thanks bro, appreciate the love 🙏
Great video man, great before an after temp portion at the end as well. Let me know the benefits you've seen so far.
I haven’t noticed that the inlet pipe going across is not nearly as hot as it use to be without the turbo blanket. Also, I ended up putting the stock head-shield back on on top of the blanket and temps have dramatically reduced using that combo.
Were the ait's different?
I bought a turbo blanket for $24 bucks from Amazon went to install it and found out I needed that o2 socket and gave up on it been sitting in my room for years now uninstalled
Channel needs more love
Thank you! Lol I’ll talk all the love I can get 😅
Did you have to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery before you disconnected the o2 sensor?
You probably should, but I don’t believe I did for this one.
To me it seems like you would have premature turbo failure because the blanket causes more heat to build on the hotside. For example turbo casting melting or failure due to warpage. Over time of course.
Out of the tens of thousands of miles I’ve ran a turbo blanket on vehicles, I’ve never had premature turbo failure. This belief that turbo blankets might damage your turbo is not based on anything from what I could find. Turbos are designed to withstand A LOT of excess heat. Where people start running into issues is running their car hard and immediately shutting off the car. It’s good practice to let the car cool off a bit and let the oil circulate through the turbo prior to shutting the car off.
I still highly recommend using a turbo blanket to help manage the heat in your engine bay and try to keep some of the other components cooler, such as your intake inlet pipe and the compressor side of your turbo.
Awesome video, thank you! Is the sensor socket 7/8"?
I believe so, I'll have to double check but its the standard O2 sensor removal tool that you can rent at Autozone if needed
can you install the turbo in general on the 11th gen civic sport?
What do you mean? The 1.5t 11th Gen Hondas already come Turbo. If you’re referring to the 2.0’s there’s not kits that I’m aware of that will allow you to turbo them.
How do you make it look so easy 😂
Nice video man, I was wondering where i can get some of those cables you used to route the t blanket? Thanks
You could search for safety wire or safety cable.
It came with the blanket so I didn’t buy it separately.
@@lui.racing oh i see so it comes with the kit, thanks for letting me know G have a good one
Nice work i just ordered the hatchback sport touring, and i get this mod done when i have the car
Definitely helps a lot with heat management. I ended up using the stock heat shield along with the turbo blanket for added heat protection to the factory inlet pipe.
Is it possible to put back the OEM heat shield with the turbo blanket?
Yes it is. I put mine over the heat shield after this video. You just can’t use one bolt
Did yours smoke a bit after initial drive with it?
You should expect a little bit, could come from either the gaskets or it being completely new downpipe with oils in it and stuff burning off for the first time
@@lui.racing for sure thanks man, mine started smoking after my initial drive i got scared aha but its gone now no more smoking
Seen a few videos so far. Are most mods applicable to the EX-L 1.5 T
Yes, a lot of these videos are the same across all trims of the 2022+ 1.5T civics
What does a turbo blanket do though???????
Manages heat. Especially since the turbo inlet pipe is right above it
@@lui.racing oh. I was going to get a jpipe for more power on my Civic for more air flow, so more power. They say it will stop drone too
Guess I need to hit the gym because I don’t have your big guns at my disposal. Can’t get the dang O2 sensor off on my ‘23 Sport Touring, it refuses to budge! The other three bolts holding the heat shield on came off pretty easily, but I guess my arms are too twiggy to get the O2 sensor off. What looked like an easy install is going to end up requiring me to pay a pro. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah bro, that O2 sensor is on there! Just slowly keep working at it
@@lui.racing hey man just an update, got a longer ratchet and it came right off. I was able to use all three fasteners when I reinstalled the heat shield on mine, too!
@@EddNog glad to hear it man!
Waste..
What’s a waste?
