Very true. The 1980s mode is legit better then the original cuz it has more of a story and it's FINNISHED!
@@eyeballsoup3276 yeah but Ryoba has that condition too, so it doesn't make sense why Ayano doesn't have a personality but Ryoba does.
@@ChelDorado ayano just doesn’t bother to fake a personality
But 1980s mode is complete normal mode is not ready
It’s normal Ayano’s story is still not complete we are still on the first rival so there are plenty of events that might take place + Ayano’s rivals are a 100 times more powerful than Rioba’s
i have a really weird idea (for both modes), but hear me out. i think it would be really interesting to have a new type of elimination: "traumatizing". like, you can traumatize your rival everyday (by putting disturbing things on their locker and threatening notes without fingerprints) until they quit school or go insane. additionally, the rival might stop talking/avoid others except senpai and stop going to class (+will lose rep points).
just putting things on their desk is a bit tedious and easy i think. I don't think anyone will get traumatised by it, instead you should make them witness or experience something traumatic.

As someone who has an odd obsession with information about ghosts, I have a theory: Sumire is a restless spirit, she haunts the area where she was killed. She wants revenge and she wants it badly. She knows Ayano is the daughter of Ryoba and is waiting for the right time to strike. What if there was a secret ending? One where if you kill too many students who you were friends with or did the betray method too many times, the ending starts. Sumire is searching for Ayano and if she gets too close, she kills Ayano. The atmosphere is at 0, the time is night, all lights are off and you can't turn them back on. All the students would disappear. Info-chan would be unavailable as well. The motive could be to get out of the school? You get no help at all, it's only you, your fear and Sumire's vengeful spirit.

Here is an idea! Whenever there is blood on the floor there should be an update where if some students don’t notice the blood and slip in it, and people see them with blood on their uniform, they get accused of creating the blood patch.
This is a good idea, but maybe dont have them slip in it. Instead, maybe there can be a way to frame a student for a murder by doing the opposite? Ex, kill a student and dispose of their body, but hide the weapon in the rival's bag. Or, steal their uniform and cover it in blood.

The 2nd one is clearing (preemprively either killing or elmininating male delenquients and disbanding martial arts club) area around incinerator, and after that it is just super easy to make entire school "dissappear" without dropping the mood, sometimes at all.

Yandere Simulator 1980s is seriously so entertaining, and I LOVE the way everything works, especially the feeling of "the real deal" where you feel like the game gets serious and you need to concentrate. The gameplay and details are AMAZING!!! I am recommending 1980s mode (and yandere simulator in general) to all my friends
I love the posters found in the school. And I, honestly, find the designs of the rivals in 1980s Mode to be a lot more... pleasant to look at than several of the main mode ones. Probably because these feel like *designed characters* and not just a case of *character archetypes*
Oka and Amai have neat designs, fitting with their established personalities and visually appropriate. But some of the others feel a bit... just a little bit too exaggerated, so they are not really characters, they are, as I say, archetypes. Osoro is a little too 'spikey lines everywhere', for example. I almost want to hope that their designs might end up getting tweaked, even just a little bit, for the full game.
YanDev: “Making that many changes to a game would inevitably come with bugs.”

Ryoba's "Ideas" list is actually more helpful than Info-Chan. I'd say that should remain in the full game, however it would also make sense that after beating 1980's mode, you'd already have an understanding of how to be creative with killing rivals. Still think having the ideas list in the main game would be a fantastic idea!

...excluding the lack of voices.
@@RansomMoney58 To be fair though when the game finally gets to the point where he's able to hire a full team, he could get it fully voiced for the official release.
Absolutely agreed, imo I feel like this version of the game, as simple as it is, is much better than what Yan-Dev has planned for the 2022 version of Yandere Simulator
I feel like YandereDev finally snapped and changed something fundemental about his "mentality" on making games. Definetely love it
@@trashking471 Totally! The landline phone mechanic, lack of Infochan, the soundtrack, and Senpai's character are all just really big improvements, imho.
Edit: just got to the part about the Yakuza being in this version. This is far superior...
this was so creative and so thought out. they way yandere def talks is amazing. how he smoothly transitions into the next topic is amazing.
I love the game with all my being since before 2014, not only did I see it, but I played it almost almost from the beginning, I am still impressed with the development it has and how much Yandere Dev puts of himself to keep improving, but there is something that runs through my mind since I learned from the videos, the purpose of the game and a portion of the story in the videos of the creator on the official page.
I've always thought that the plot is excellent, but it would be even better if there was some kind of unexpected twist, a series called "Reset Game" is a good example, it would also be great if the yandere of the story, both Ryoba and Ayano, could choose a character like Senpai, and put all the rivals go after the one you choose, Taro is a pretty good character, but it is very simple, and being abruptly honest, both Ryoba and Ayano, are too good for their Senpai, Ryoba is definitely very attractive, and there are better matches for her, and depending on who she chooses, the boy could bring a positive influence, in some fandom scene channels, they have shipped Ryoba with the student council, they are definitely more handsome and could make Ryoba change their ways, get more options on their way to get the love of that special someone, etc, I know it's a lot, actually a lot of process for something, but he assured that if something like this happened in the game, it would be the most popular of all, including classics like Fnafs, Friday 13th, etc. . .
So I leave my opinion here as a suggestion for the future, I know they could try to do it in a Mod, but a Mod and a new version made by the same creator of this game is never the same, I wish with all my heart that the creator would at least consider this proposal, because this would raise the potential of the game to unique levels.
I'm genuinely very impressed by this version of the game, and I think this will end up being the biggest argument for removing info-chan from the main game. I think that gameplay would be much more fun without her in it, she just makes things too easy.
That could also be an argument for the use of Info-Chan being a factor in Ayano's ending. How much you relied on her could change any number of factors... or if you didn't give her enough attention, she may end up perturbed enough to retaliate somehow.
I actually think the plan with info chan is that SHE is a yandere herself and is using Ayano to get senpai at the end
@@MewDenise pretty sure Info chan is collecting proofs about Ayano, "helping" her to rid the rivals. And using the proofs against Ayano in the final.
@@MewDenise (edit for spelling) that was confirmed to be the original plot line years ago but he did away with it because it was too obvious and predictable. He has yet to debunk the theory that she is the daughter of the defamed journalist who was investigating ayanos mom, and is collecting proof on ayano to clear her father's name. There IS potential for a story here, but the negative effect she has on the authenticity and creativity of the gameplay out weighs any lore payoff in my opinion
I think it’s fine if she exists, but I do think it should be more difficult to get info points, or the current methods, should yield less info points. That way, you’ll use her services less often and be more selective about how you use them. On another note, Ayano currently relies on info-Chan to tell her when a new rival has come into play, which makes sense, because it’s never quite explained how Ryoba discovered her rivals, unless we assume she found out about them while stalking Senpai. If that’s the case, Ryoba has been stalking Senpai for a year, and that works out. But Ayano has only recently met Senpai, according to the current story, so it may not make as much sense that she would know about her new rivals so easily. She can’t have learned that much about him so far, and she doesn’t seem to have friends, so Info-chan makes a good source of that information. We don’t know whether Ayano is as cunning and observant as Ryoba, so it’s hard to say whether she would’ve figured that information out on her own.
While playing 1980s mode I found that it was a lot more fun having limited resources and not relying on info chan 1980s mode feels much more realistic and the game feels alot more fun when I figured stuff out for myself instead getting info chan to tell ne how to do everything.
I find it so amazing how you are growing in game development, you are much faster and more efficient than you have ever been. I'm sure you will keep polishing certain scenes, add new ones, etc... For quality of life and eye candy. It already looks amazing and I know a lot of people are excited for what is to come.

Imagine walking into the headmaster's office innocently, and his first instinct was to immediately point a taser at you TwT
If you played 1980s mode you would know why he does that to the daughter
@sakuraaishi246 I want to, but I'm not good with my laptop, and my laptop is old qwq so...
He only does that to Ayano, because of the events that unfolded in the 1980s mode, which included death and stuff, hence, causing the headmaster to become more cautious. He’s more cautious around Ayano because he’s aware that she’s the daughter of the woman who was sent to trial for alleged murders
I can see why people may say that the 1980's mode is better than the main game, but I'll to be honest, the main game is better in many ways, for one, all of the rivals are unique, they have a lot of things about them that make them very special, giving a whole unique experience with each new rival, and that always was one factor that intrigued me about the game
Two, the deep story of the main game always fascinated me, the way alot of things seem to simply click together if you just look a bit more deeply, I love theorizing about what each thing could possibly mean
Three, I've always questioned senpai's actions and the way he was portrayed, amd with the fact that I've been watching yandere Dev's videos, and saw very few specific things in the game, I came to the theory that taro is not as normal and average and boring as he may seem, which gives the feeling that he is hiding something that we as players should find out on our own
Four, the very special things that are only available in the main game are always welcome to me, more mysteries, more puzzles and even more story juice! I love all the small things from small conversations around the school, to completely weird additions that may seem uncalled for by some, or even the small Easter eggs like the ring and the mysterious voice that comes if you take it to the tree
All in all, I think the main game is generally better than the mode, that's not to say the 1980's mode is bad, in fact I like it! All I'm saying is that the main game is better even if it was currently incomplete, but the mode is also good, really really good at that, at least it gives us more insight about ayano's mom and the whole detective thing and why the principal is the way he is with ayano, and it also gives us a taste on how it might feel like finishing the game and eliminating all of the rivals and getting senpai, although not exactly, it still gives us a bit of a feel about it
So good job yandere dev! You did amazing with this game!
Yandere Dev talking about the nurse: “And curves~”
Jay from the Kubz Scouts: 👀
That’s the comment I want to look for lol
Lol. I thought that I was the only one who notice it
👀
@@omi4470 bro what is this the nurse isnt slutty
he didn't acknowledge it and i think that's even funnier
I found Ryoba giving hints in her dialogue pretty clever. I wish most UA-camrs noticed that also.
i believe bijuu mike noticed them
I noticed them, But I'll kill them anyways
V, stop bias wrecking me he did he caught on to the fact that the second rival’s special elimination has something to do with burning
Same it was so frustrating, though with people like that dude Jay from the Kubz Scouts he just lost patience mostly and would kill them on the spot
I appreciate that you did this in the least. I have been lightly following this game since I first saw Kub Scoutz play it sometime in 2015. I can see how far you've come and I only hope to see more from this game. Thanks for the fun memories!
Thanks for keeping us updated! I tried this and finished it Ty for the info x
after trying this mod I realized that info chan was TOO OP and the game was way better without her services and actually much fun to play
U mean mode cause mod is made from someone who don't really made the game and not an official update
Well you don't really have to use info-chan if you don't want to, but I guess your opinion makes sense.
Its not a mod its apart of the gsme
@@eduardot.h.monreal1621 yeah and there’s going to be an ending in the main mode for if you didn’t help info change at all
@@sunnex474 Yeah I'm looking for that
I wish one of the protagonist's rival was also a yandere
That would make things very interesting
ive never thought of that
Imagine a joe and love situation, like you from netflix.
It'd be cooler if one of the rivals suitors was an yandere too.
That would be in the 2040 mode xD
Yes! Nemesis could literally BE your nemesis! There could be a final level where they’re like “lmao I’m gonna kill Taro since I can’t have him” and you have to fight the rival
If anyone’s wondering who the serial killer who sells you advice is, it’s the hairdresser in town. To go her and go to the purchase screen. You don’t need to buy anything, just wait a bit.
Possibly slightly off topic, but all of the characters for 1980's mode are soo prettyy
Hi there, just wanted to make a possible suggestion. I was watching my friend play the 80s mode and something that I pointed out was the NES in the room. If the game is supposed to take place in 1980s Japan, I feel it makes more sense to have the Famicom instead of the NES, which is fitting for the time period and location
I agree with you
Yes.
80's mode is amazing, I've played it more than the base game. Not having Info chan was really weird to get used to, but it let me get a better feel for doing it on my own. I love this.
I find that 1980s Mode has far better game design than what is made of 202X Mode right now. Osana in 202X Mode right now seems like she's more complicated than she should be for the first rival for the purposes of making the demo hard, mostly because of Raibaru. The routines of students in 1980s Mode make it so that there are a lot of witnesses in passageways where there are not witnesses in 202X Mode.
@@justjames4 It's true. I know it's for the game forced you to have a strategy and not just go for the kill, but it makes me prefer the 1980s mode :')
what pc do you have and where did you get it if you don’t mind me asking? i’ve been wanting a pc but i want one that runs games really well. please respond if you can
@@doki7242 I have a laptop that isn't very strong or fast and the game runs quite well for me. But keep in mind as a tip that the game will run with more fps if you disable some visual effects of 1980 mode, and also if you set the graphics to 1/2, 1/4 or 1/8 Low, and dissable the hair movement. You can also try not to have other apps open, so that your PC doesn't become saturated, and the game would run well for you
i remember getting taken aback by first person mode because I was so used to just pulling out ayano's phone camera
I’m really excited for the actual Yandere Sim to look like this! I know it’s gonna be just as good or even better!! Keep working hard Yandere Dev.

Is he in the martial arts club? Is he a reference to Anderson Silva and Jose Aldo it is it a coincidence cuz those are common names?

wow I thought the game had crashed, I even tried to hit other advisors to see
That’s my grandpas names-
I have a suggestion..
I would actually love to see a mode or in the completed demo a plot twist where, i cannot explain.. Eh.. example: You choose Ayano to play with. While you're dealing with your rivals, you're trying to keep a connection with certain people(male rivals) and they end up liking you, so basically Taro Yamado is a yandere too himself. Like that the player has a whole story to see that changes depending on how we choose to act, and have more but exciting things to deal with.. I'm just doing a recommendation because I myself have made so many scenarios like these in my head, and from my experience I think this feature/or mode would be super cool and exciting to play!!
I am writing this here because of the fact I do not seem to be able to send suggestions.
I am so so happy he brought back the yakuza, the idea is so awesome, and it was executed just as well as i hoped
Y’all, someone tell Jay about the nurse, he’s gonna be so excited
YES HE CAN SIMP AGAIN

He didn't cared once he saw it HAHAHA too bad for yall
you know, if you want to bring the Yakuza guy into the modern game, he could be called "an old friend" of Ayano's mom, and offer similar services b/c of that
Hey that's actually a great idea
Oooh I wonder what that would be like
Ey!
That's actually a pretty good Idea 💡
Post it on reddit, everyone must like it, and yandere dev may also see it
Well... he doesn´t want to know her. The less we know, the better. Forget my face
as someone whos been her since the begining thank you, and as for always thank you for not giving up on this after almost 10 years. i cant wait for this channels anniversary
im actually proud of yandere dev cuz some newbies might play 1980s mode and it has a turtorial and controls for the loading menu! good job man..
Despite all the drama, I still do want you to succeed. I think you've really proved to me that you really can do this. I am back on board with the development. Good luck.
Same and FACTS!!
Yeah it seems that he has actually put a lot of effort into this 1980s mode, and is now trying to listen to any suggestions from fans so that he can improve and finalize his game. The drama was super hectic lol. If he keeps getting better, then his improvements would make up for all of the drama
i'm personally indifferent to it, sure there's some problematic stuff he's said but I just wanna play a game (and I'm glad 1980's mode doesn't have info-chan because let's be honest, she's too overpowered)
Honestly I think 98% of people would have off themselves if they were in his shoes. This dude has gone through so much shit and he has my respect for pushing forward and not giving up. I do hope after the game is done, he can take a super long break and restore his mental sanity.
I feel the same way
This game mode is actually more interesting than the actual game.
True right
That's literally a canonical part of the game what does this mean
@@amenkeshigomu6744 Part of the game is better than the actual game for now.
I don't know what his ideas are going to be for the future so it could change at any time
Well the main mode still isn’t done yet so who knows

Can't wait for the mode where we play as Ayano's grandmother
i don't think that will happen
yandere-dev i have a question: why in 1980's mod there are 10 rivals but in 2000's there's only one rival(osana)?
@@an-animal-lover i know but why in the 80' yes and 20' no?
I really, really love the fact that at the end you get scored on your performance. Makes trying again, waiting for the results and “competing” in a game that is not competitive that much more fun
It definitely reinvigorated my interest in the game. I always prided myself on my good grades in school.....
I feel much more invested in this than ayano’s story lol
I'm starting to feel the same too, I thought I'd find this story more boring but i guess not 😂
Frrr
It makes sense why you added the Yakuza because, well, they're in the middle of a Cold War here.
I love this mode, it kinda makes me feel like I’m watching old memories from my mom’s high school life, it’s so cool
damn so ryoba literally killed her rivals without any help except for the yakuza if ever a player used it. still its cool to see that she work hard only by herself love this.
She also get help from the serial killer. I found her in the town (Won't mention it tho ;))
@@LemonMatcha Ah! You mean the Lady in the town street?
Yandere-Dev sounds so enthusiastic and happy explaining this! I hope this was a much-needed mental break for him from the grind of the main game. This prequel does not disappoint!
Wow, this actually looks great. I rubber banded from being excited and hopeful about this game to worried over the years about scope creep. Finishing this mode as an un-creeped project is a great accomplishment, and leaves you open to explore what you want out of the main game 👍
For me, I feel like there should be a “sandbox” mode. Basically like a testing mode. You can do almost anything without really any punishments like in the final game. Kinda like when children watched gameplays but don’t understand most of the stuff, they can play the cops don’t exist mode so they can just goof around and can just kill everybody to see how the mechanics works.
It was, until 2020 when Osana released
@@aboysarchives I mean in the newer version.
Plot twist: 1980's mode is the _actual_ Yandere Simulator.
technically, it is. both yandere simulator and 1980s mode are both “yandere simulator”. 1980s mode is just the B side / prequel to the main portion of the game.
Technically yes cuz he made it the yandere simulator that he envisioned in the past
I mean mobile phones were a thing in 1989 though they weren’t too common place. I could definitely see the rich girls having them though
1989 cell phones were primarily used for giant corporations and government officials. They were big and hardly something one would carry around without good reason and it's own giant case. I wouldn't expect a highschool student to be carrying one.
Now if this was 1995 then yes. That is about the time frame they started to get small enough to carry in a pocket or a purse and made available to the commercial market. Maybe the tech caught on faster and became more compact in Japan than Europe % the US though.
2:55 She almost never expresses any kind of strong emotions
Also Ayano when she close senpai:
👁///👄///👁 💕
Ryoba: “ayano back in my day i had to eliminate my rivals without technology! And I don’t even need an accomplice i asked odd people and serial killers to help me! In town too!”
I like how Yandere dev actually calls Taro and Ayano by their names instead of "Yandere-chan" and "Senpai".
Edit: I don't deserve these likes. Thx for your kindness people
Well, now that there's 1980's mode, there's sort of TWO people named Yandere-chan and Senpi, so it makes logical sense.
senpai means the one who the game (anime) build for sentai is the female one as i know i might be wrong
Yeah, it feels a good type of weird
@@hitchan3004 no?
“senpai” is gender neutral honorific, used for people who are in a higher place than you in your occupation.
ex: youre a janitor and another person is a cashier. assuming the cashier is higher than the janitor, the other person is your senpai. they dont have to be older than you to be called senpai.
“sentai” is literally translated to “squadron”
No one who leaves an edit thanking people for their likes as if it's the oscars deserves the likes.
Ayano is not killing for her Senpai. She is killing for the feelings.

hear me out:
a concept.
so in 1980s mode, you know how the headmaster goes kinda crazy after ryoba leaves? well, if you are nice to him and get an S+ rank in the court case, he would be nicer to the character because ayanos mother was his “friend”…
With all due respect to your suggestion , the school’s reputation is damaged when that first murder took place. The headmaster would be seen as a disgrace by the community due to that he let a murder happen when he has a duty of care to all students and staff.
Plus a student cannot befriend a teacher/principal without people thinking of an inappropriate relationship… well friendship when there is an imbalance of power.
Lastly, Ryoba canonically only cares about her Senpai. She is like Ayano/Yandere Kun in terms of not caring what she has to do or who she has to hurt to get what she wants so I don’t think befriending the principal will benefit Ryoba from getting her Senpai in the game.
but the S+ rank is the canon ending, so unfortunately, he'd end up like that either way
This is actually a brilliant idea! I feel so bad for the headmaster and seeing his attitudes on the 2022 version makes me feel guilty:(
the head master still canonly hates ryoba even after the court and we can tell this bcs of his tapes. he claims ryoba is guilty and manipulated the court, so its no point
I think it was pretty easy to investigate their bags and to do the matchmaking, all mondays i would just go into their classroom and look in the magazine to see what kind of boy the rival like.
I like to imagine that Ryoba's monologues are her writing in a diary or something. I don't know why but that's just appealing.
