Hello! Are you planning on doing one of these about gemstones? I’m a huge fan of gemstones and I’m a bright winter, but the guides online are very conflicted on the most flattering gemstones for BW.
You should totally do a part 2 to this video with gemstones it d be too much fun ♡♡♡ For example: aquamarine for summer light or lapis lazuli for winter cool etc. It d be really cool.
As a soft summer, it was always jarring to be told silver was my metal, and then being shown a platinum which was way too bright and cool for me. I had a pair of shoes that were a metallic taupe that were perfect for me. Pyrite makes so much sense!
How fascinating! One of the first things I did when I discovered your videos a few weeks ago was change my earing studs and nose rings to gold, from silver, and it has made such an immediate difference to the whole glow of my face! ❤ I'm so pleased! Of course, as you said, if someone has some favourite jewellery, in the "wrong" seasons colour, they could keep wearing it as part of the overall balance with other clothing colours that enhance the season and it would detract too much... For example I have some beautiful silver earrings from Greece with carnelians in them which I will keep, but everything else, I switched to gold hooks and fittings with my home jewellery tools, and will now only look up copper bronze and gold new pieces.. it explains why I've always drifted to copper but had often chosen silver as it's a more common base for the gemstones I love. Another switch I made was to buy some cream/oyester colour silk thread to restring a few pendants from black cord, to a cream cord.. and again its just given my whole look so much more of a relaxed and yes harmonious tye in 😉 This really fascinates me, it's so immediate! I love these videos and how helpful they are. Thank you so much again, 🙏
THANK YOU for solving the rose gold mystery!! I’m a warm Autumn and my wedding ring is rose gold. I keep hearing it’s a cool metal - but that never made sense because my ring looks wonderful! Also, love all your videos! Please keep making them!
I’d say in general for summers the worst are certain spring colours (orange comes to mind) and vice versa. The same for winter and autumn. Of course these pallets share sister seasons, but still, in general.
WHITE Gold is exactly that color. (If there's no Rhodonite involved) For lead I would recommend saying tantalum. My wedding ring is made of that material. :)
My favorite metal is actually unplated white gold, its leaning towards the middle in terms of temperature, it's light and bright. Perfect for my light spring ass that doesn't really like to wear pink jewelry haha
Perhaps jewelry made with the metal “pewter” is a safer alternative for deep winters. It’s a darker looking metal. Also black rhodium plated silver jewelry.
Just remembered that some antique silver jewelry can have a darker patina as well compared to regular silver and platinum. 1. Stainless Steel: Durable and hypoallergenic, often used for its silvery-gray finish. 2. Tungsten Carbide: Known for its dark, metallic sheen and high durability. 3. Titanium: Lightweight and strong with a similar appearance to lead. 4. Pewter: Typically lead-free now and has a similar look to lead. 5. Rhodium-plated Jewelry: Gives a shiny, lead-like appearance. 6. Sterling Silver: Has a similar luster and color to lead. 7. Platinum: High-end, durable, and has a lead-like grayish appearance. 8. Hematite: A natural mineral with a metallic, lead-like sheen. 9. Zinc Alloy: Often used in costume jewelry and can be made to resemble lead.
I'm most likely a soft summer and usually I feel like none of the metals match my coloring that well UNTIL there's something like very soft gold. Pyrite really makes sense for me. 😊
As someone who started making some of my own jewelry, wanted to add a few things: Be careful when buying "platinum" colored things online, somehow the term is very often being misused by a lot of sellers for a darker silver color, instead look for light sliver color. You will typically find regular gold or silver finishes or antic versions of any metals. The antic versions are best for muted color palettes. Think more grey instead of shiny silver, matt bronze or gold instead of shiny gold for bright palettes. The lead color is usually referred to as gun metal.
Great video!!! I was so happy when I saw the notification. Seeing the frames within each season held together was particularly helpful. One suggestion-you both excel at explaining things on a theoretical level and making them understandable (props to Alessandra’s chemistry background!), but could go one step further in making them practically applicable if you showed examples of each metal in actually pieces of jewelry/clothing or even just photos. Btw, I had my color analysis done online by these ladies it was such a good experience. Highly recommend!
I was a bit skeptical about these metal cards, but they're so accurate I can't help but love them! I loved the rose gold explanation as well! There are plenty of analysts out there saying that rose gold is a good color for Summer people and I was starting to believe I was crazy because, for me, it's obviously warm. Maybe they're putting metallic pink and rose gold in the same box, and this is creating confusion. I work with hair color and there's nothing better to create chaos than different concepts for the same name. Some of my customers get mad at me for asking them to send me photos of the hair color they want or call colors "pinkish-purple", "blueish-purple", "greenish-blue" etc. However, the amount of miscommunication decreased drastically after I employed this strategy when talking to them.
I used to wear silver but after trying on spectacle frames some years ago realised that gold was way more flattering! I also love rose gold but it isn't very visible against my skin.
I don’t know what my colour palette is but I find I suit 9- 14k gold best, or like a soft ‘champagne’ colour with a high polish finish. Dull metals look awful on me, as do rich golds, rich copper and greys. I think I could pull off a bright whitish silver if I tweaked my makeup but it wouldn’t be as flattering or harmonious. Also, I think pewter is a better name than lead. 😊 So I would have no idea where I fit in the wheel!
Ciao ragazze! Grazie mille per questo video!!! I have *always* wished I could learn more about metallics when it comes to color analysis and personal style because I am so passionate about metallic colors and substances in art and design. One of my personal side missions is to help people learn that there is a whole entire metallic "palette" that is as rich and dynamic as the regular color spectrum we have, and it's definitely not just a case of gold or silver with an occasional rose! In my artwork I use almost exclusively metallics for the base of my paintings and sculpture since I love having everything be intensely effected by different dimensions of light, and I'm really inspired by metals and their symbolism in cultural history. I still have no idea what my personal color profile is, I've done self analysis and have swung from literally every season to a different one at a different point in time, but I'm definitely more encouraged to getting my own professional analysis done based on this video alone. I'd love to know what my ideal metal is, at least according to a professional, because knowing that would give me so much inspiration for my work. I hope that you come back to identifying and categorizing even more metallic colors and alloys in the future! One you didn't mention was a unique hybrid of copper and silvers that blend warm and cool tones at different levels used by metalsmiths in Japan called shibuichi. Shibuichi itself has its own palette depending on the percentages, but the ones that have the most copper tones are definitely that cool "metallic pink" you described, maybe even pinker! I love intense shibuichi, and silvery alloyed rose gold, since they are hot and cold at the same time and have this almost alien smoldering radiance to them. But perhaps my personal favorite, even though it is clearly too deep for my profile, is chocolate gold, which is a rich metallic coffee brown that is like a deeper and less saturated version of your bronze. I absolutely love it just because it's stunning! And I have to chime in with my more US based color terminology, and say that yes gunmetal is what we would use for describing a blacker metallic like lead. It's a common word in design and fashion even! And even the cool pyrite could be called a champagne gold (o prosecco, credo!) Allora! Avete fatto bene come sempre Giulia e Alessandra! Bravissime!!!
Yes! My best yellow is actually metallic gold. It only looks bad on me if I try to wear it as a neurtral rather than a colour. Red and gold = bad. White and gold = chef's kiss.
Ooh this was such an interesting one. I have always worn light shades of gold jewellery and when I found out I was a soft summer and was told I should wear silver I was gutted! It just does not look right on me. I'm exactly the kind of soft summer you described with a very yellow overtone and quite neutral undertone. This was validating 😂
I was typed cool muted and light a few years ago, which I think is cool summer but I think those colours are too strong for me. I usually wear white gold and silver but they appear too cold near my face. My pink metallic glasses frames suit me perfectly so I will wear them with my rose gold earrings to match. After years of wearing cool colours it's taken awhile to get used to warm ones but they definitely look better. One day I might try brown but having avoided it most of my life I will require more time to get used to the idea.😮
As a winter (I'm either True {not to be mistaken for Cool Winter} or Bright Winter), I'm most drawn towards bright & shiny metals. Silver, platinum and bright & shiny gold are my favourites ✨️.
I’m a Dark Winter but I lean a little on the warmer side of DW. Some systems say the neutral/transition seasons can wear both. I prefer yellow gold with green and red. The blues and purples need silver.
This was a very helpful video! Just two days ago I was told I am a true spring. This was so shocking after living most of my life as a winter! This video helped me get out of the shock and started thinking spring.
Just returned from vacation and holy cow when did Alexandra’s hair get so long? Loved this subject as mixing metals seems to be a thing. It’s nice to mix ones in the same family.
I've been binge watching on your videos. I'd say, almost all of them, because they're super informative and both of you are objective in assessing colours that are most complimentary for each one of everyone 😺😸. It's easy to see that you really love & enjoy your line of work 💛✨️🩷💖💓💗💝💕💞.
I am warm spring and am glad you assigned us copper which is mined in my area and my favorite. I use all of the "spring" metals and a couple of the "autumn " ones. Benefit of being warm dominant. Excellent video as usual ladies.
Yay! Having always gravitated towards rose gold, I'm reinvigorating my love of silver as a winter cool gal. Loved this in-depth take! Thank yooouuuuuuu
Fascinating! Thank you for the video! I must say that as a non-native English speaker myself, I had difficulties understanding the difference between the two autumn metallic colors for soft and warm. The metal sounded exactly the same to me, but after watching till the end I understood it was "brass" versus "bronze". 😂 I love your color analyses so much, and if I get a notification that you uploaded a new video I immediately watch it. Hope you find more brave people who agree to let you record it! 😘
There's a complete spectrum of metal colours, not every alloy is going to be exacly the same every time, especially when most metallic items are plating or paint. This video was very helpful to recognise the undertones in metals and hiw to categorize them.
Great video once again and very informative. I am a visual learner so this helps a lot going forward for me. I usually need a softer looking metal so the summer ones seem nice. Brave ragazze, ottimo lavoro !!!!
I find my best metals are anything aged and almost mattified, like an aged silver looks better than a gold despite overall warm-leaning colours work better. No idea what my season is, i just know mostly i need to look for red-based warm, matt/soft and preferably mid to dark tone.
Maybe because it could get confusing because while true white gold is closer in colour to their pyrite card, most white gold jewelry is rhodium plated, which makes it match their platinum card.
I would love it if you did a video on greens. Green is the most difficult colour for me to see the cool/warm base. I can tell at the very extremes such as lime green but everything else is unclear.
This was so informative, it was very interressting to see all the metals at once and compared to each other. I learned so much,, and it also helped me to understand colours better. I'm constantly learning, and this was very clarifying. Thank you for making this video. ❤
This was such a fun video!!! I'm an autumn deep and this explains why I always think darker golden looks better on me 😅 Love to know the reason behind it. You guys are fantastic!
I have learned to appreciate the steel metals. They can have a natural shine but are not too bright or too dull. They look very natural and I believe bring a lot of "weight" to an outfit.
👏 Bravo Ladies 👏 Fun and informative video! I have golden olive skin and i look my best in mixed metals, because I'm so yellow, that gold blends too much into my skin. But, silver is too cool by itself. Copper is my favorite, but it still pops best when mixed with silver. Could you ladies please make more videos about olive skin tones? Olive skin can be very challenging, because it is neither truly warm or cool.
Thanks for the video! I like the idea of "sandwiching" our jewelry like you suggested for clothes that are not in our color palette. For example, my wedding ring has a platinum base with a rose gold filigree inlay, and it works because there's more platinum than rose gold. ❤
Wow! This is one of my favorite videos from you ladies. I enjoyed it very much and learned a lot about metals and who wears them best! Thank you for such an informative video.
I make copper jewelry rings earrings necklaces even cuffs. And I find people ordering from me just because the copper looks good on my skin. And that to me is my biggest selling point is that the copper looks good on me. So even though I haven't had the color analysis it helps me realize that I'm on the right side. T Utah USA
Love this! Have often wondered what metals would look best with my dark autumn palette. I am slowly making the transition, it’s great to know what accessories to look out for thank you.
And what about the pearl colour, although it is not a metal, it still gives that brilliant luminosity. So that could be from the summer season? Thank you for your video, I'm learning a lot with you.
Wonderful video as always! In a future video could you perhaps go deeper into the metal finishes? My dominant color trait is soft and I find that I look much better with matt jewellery instead of shiny jewellery.
I love how you highlight the various metals with the seasons and subgroups! I have a question: How do the seasons reflect personality types? Thank you for your excellent videos, professional insights and delightful presentation. Keep up the lovely work!
I’m a summer (my guess is soft summer) and I loooove gold but it has to be a less “yellow” gold in order to pull it off. Silver jewelry looks best; specifically if it has a slight lavender or pink undertone (I noticed certain brands carry more of that color) or is lighter in color like the silver tone Apple uses on their AirPods Pro headphones 🎧 looks great too.
Thank you for doing this, loved it!! Quick question, I understand the explanation about why soft summers can pull off soft autumn metals, but what is it about soft autumns that they can’t pull off soft summer metals as well? Just curious!
Very interesting to see the variations between the subseasons instead of only silver vs gold. As a suggestion for a future video maybe you could talk about color psycology, which I find very fascinating. It could be very helpful when choosing what colors to wear from day to day depending on occasion and mood.
In my colour-fan from NDU Colors, bright winter, being next to spring on the colour wheel, both cool and warm jewellery is included (although a cool metal is suggested as looking better). I’ve also heard from a colour specialist that therefore rose gold, and a not too warm version of gold, will look good on a Bright winter. What are your thoughts on this?
This might be the most American comment ever, but I'd refer to the lead shade as Gunmetal.
This is what I was thinking, too!
Yes!
@@guccideltaco me too!🤣
😢
Oh I am in New Zealand and I absolutely agree!!! OR Pewter!

For example: aquamarine for summer light or lapis lazuli for winter cool etc. It d be really cool.
Instead of using "lead" for dark winters.... "gun metal" is often the name used for dark almost black metallic finishes on jewelry and accessories!
@etsumori Graphite would be another word for that color. It is actually what pencils write with not lead.
I find that I can pull off more intense metals if the finish isn't polished. Brushed or matte are more flattering on my muted palette over high shine.

Another delightful video! 👏 I appreciate how thoroughly you cover every topic - the information is so always so valuable and complete! 😊❤😊
Can you do a series where you prepare and outfit and jewellery on someone based on your picks for them? It would be so fun to see that.
Even if its just pictures from the clothing items, as I believe it's quite expensive to buy all the clothes for all the subgroups.
One suggestion for a fun future video would be to look each subgroup and say which would be the worse colors or subgroup of colors for them.
I’d say in general for summers the worst are certain spring colours (orange comes to mind) and vice versa. The same for winter and autumn. Of course these pallets share sister seasons, but still, in general.

Thanks for the video! I like the idea of "sandwiching" our jewelry like you suggested for clothes that are not in our color palette. For example, my wedding ring has a platinum base with a rose gold filigree inlay, and it works because there's more platinum than rose gold.
❤
I really like Alessandras hair in this video!
What a fantastic video, I learned so much - thank you! You’re both always a delight to watch ❤
This is so interesting, especially the situation of summer softs and Alessandra's input from her chemistry background! Grazie!
Wow! This is one of my favorite videos from you ladies. I enjoyed it very much and learned a lot about metals and who wears them best! Thank you for such an informative video.
Love seeing you again! Thank you for this very insightful video! Pyrite it is then. I also love whitegold.
LOVED this video! Thank you for making it and sharing this with us.
I make copper jewelry rings earrings necklaces even cuffs. And I find people ordering from me just because the copper looks good on my skin. And that to me is my biggest selling point is that the copper looks good on me. So even though I haven't had the color analysis it helps me realize that I'm on the right side.

Copper is so pretty
Instead of lead, use Tantalum, it's the metal for my wedding ring. Very heavy for its size and amazing to wear. :)
Hello, ladies! Love these metallic frames and their composition (alloys/pure metals).
Copper here (warm spring)!
I love your videos, they are always very helpful. Thank you ❤
Love this! Have often wondered what metals would look best with my dark autumn palette. I am slowly making the transition, it’s great to know what accessories to look out for thank you.
you guys look amazing and so do those metallic frames 🤩
Thank you very much. This was a very informative and fun video. You are the best 🩶🧡
And what about the pearl colour, although it is not a metal, it still gives that brilliant luminosity. So that could be from the summer season? Thank you for your video, I'm learning a lot with you.
Pearls come in as many shades as metals do. Look for the undertone.
Beautiful explanation cool vs warm. Thank you 🥰
I vostri video sono troppo simpatici!! 😍
Wow!! This was so helpful and thorough! Loved it and learnt a lot! It makes so much sense! Thank you 🙏🏻
You two had me laughing when talking about rose gold! Guillia saying, Don't go away, don't cancel!!😅
Rose gold is the "it" metal!
Any idea of which online store in Europe is selling blueish steel jewelry?
According to other analysis methods, shiny silver is also perfect for winters and shiny gold for springs.
This checks out, raw brass is my favourite metal
Wonderful video as always! In a future video could you perhaps go deeper into the metal finishes? My dominant color trait is soft and I find that I look much better with matt jewellery instead of shiny jewellery.
Yes. Metallic leather looks great on me.
I love how you highlight the various metals with the seasons and subgroups! I have a question: How do the seasons reflect personality types? Thank you for your excellent videos, professional insights and delightful presentation. Keep up the lovely work!
I really love your energy! 💖
For whom would you recomend white gold?
Rhodium plated white gold matches their platinum card. Unplated white gold matches their pyrite card.
Always great information from Guillia and Alessandra!
great team!!
Thank you for doing this, loved it!! Quick question, I understand the explanation about why soft summers can pull off soft autumn metals, but what is it about soft autumns that they can’t pull off soft summer metals as well? Just curious!
Very interesting and informative, thanks again ladies💙🧡
Very interesting to see the variations between the subseasons instead of only silver vs gold. As a suggestion for a future video maybe you could talk about color psycology, which I find very fascinating. It could be very helpful when choosing what colors to wear from day to day depending on occasion and mood.
Love my rose gold wedding band on my true autumn skintone. I get tons of compliments! :)
Did ale do something to her hair? She looks gorgeous, it looks really good😍🤩💐
Hi Guys, thank you for covering the metals, but what about white gold?
In my colour-fan from NDU Colors, bright winter, being next to spring on the colour wheel, both cool and warm jewellery is included (although a cool metal is suggested as looking better). I’ve also heard from a colour specialist that therefore rose gold, and a not too warm version of gold, will look good on a Bright winter. What are your thoughts on this?
This was amazing!!!!!
Glad to see another one of your great videos!! Thank you 😊
Wonderful video, thank you
