  • In the second video I have made on the Restoration of this Holden HQ ute we will be re blocking the exterior panels and re priming spots we primed in the previous episode and also spray the inner panels and tub/tray. I will be using Cromax (DuPont) baseoat 6000 range and 696S clear with 125S standard hardener using an Anest Iwata Airgunsa az3 for primer, Devilbiss gti pro t2 for base and gti pro lite te20 for clear.

    I’m a big fan of sitting comfortably when working on cars it’s important to be positioned correctly although some companies didn’t like seeing works sitting down on the job ...
    But I’m all for it ...

    Takes a lot of clear to spray the inside of the bed for sure!

    I've read that there are NO cartridge filters that remove the isocyanates, so have you tested yourself for exposure (urine testing)? Given that this is your line of work, and you have such a large exposure through your skin, I honestly think you should be more cautious, (and set a better example). Mind you, I can't take 30C, let alone 40C!
    Good videos Gunman, stay safe.

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  9 років тому +2

      fx451Jockey I've been tested and have no iso poisoning, the charcoal cartridge is for gas and also has a particle filter and pre filter, yes I am protected and healthy. I hear what you say but I'm protected well. I have started using my airfed again now I have the correct filtration system installed. Thanks for your concern and I will be making a video about respirators soon.

    Hi gunman how much did you thin the 2k primer down ? Would you rather put 4 thinner coats down than 2 thick coats that needs more sanding on those large quarter panel jobs ?

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  9 років тому

      Carl Heath 4 coats, so I have more build to block into.

  • @803brando
    @803brando 9 років тому

    moving pretty quick with your primering, running a 2.2 + tip?

  • @rigobertovega9865
    @rigobertovega9865 9 років тому +1

    good job man, I see you dont use guide coat, was that just because the panels were already straight by the time you blocked it off?

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  9 років тому +1

      I find its not even necessary, we wet check with Prepsol and check by hand and eye when sanding.

    Hey gunman! I watch and like all of your videos. I am a first year apprentice and I was wondering if there is a specific technique used to remove the rocker panel trim on contemporary vehicles. Those clips are a total pain in the ass to pop out and there has to be a better way. Please help. Thanks
