    Just took back a car from a professional shop simply because of issues with complete disregard for my car. Hood was worse underneath than the one you are showing your work on. It amazes me how some people call them selves pros. Doing it my self and using some of the skills you show off. Great tutorials keep these going I greatly appreciate you sharing.

    Hey Gunman,
    I am a real amateur and I have an old HK Holden which was my first car in 1980. I still have it and in the process of restoring. Love your videos and have learnt so much from you. love it. There is nothing better than getting the clear on to see the final result. Thanks for all your help. Regards Trev

    your vids are awesome the reason why your the man to view is you dont BS and im sure others such as myself have learned from you and have definatly improved our skills i know mine have. I started as a diy then i painted a few race cars my last job i painted my car in the shop and then they had me doing body repairs. now im trying to do scratch and dent repairs as the company went belly up and the price of oil dropped so jobs arent readily available so ill give this ago. my body work needs work but my painting has improved 150 % and getting better.I know this is long but maybe others will share what you have done to help them as well. KEEP IT UP Your awesome Thank you. freemantle media call yet ?? lol

    I’ve learnt a lot from watching your videos. I’m getting ready to paint my one tonner. I’m working to a super low budget. Hopefully it goes ok. Thanks for your tips. 👍

    throw the 125 s hardner in the bin use ak 260 slow and make sure to use xb 383 slow reducer for the basecoat make sure to put the basecoat on in a 1 and a half coat application as data sheet .(high solids basecoat). 696 is not the best clear but easy to use and must go over a really smooth base other wise it can pinch a little

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  9 років тому +1

      phil mcrevis I hate slow hardener and I won't be using that clear anymore not after the most recent job its too hard to polish and keeps coming back.

    Jesus thats good work again, I find there is very fine line between smashing the clear on and getting runs,
    any hints?
    Don't worry about the frog mate, I have been to his site and reciprocated, an eye for an eye I reckon.

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  9 років тому +2

      taylormkct Yes it is a fine line best hints is have the pressure nice and high, not too much fluid, hold the gun close for a fine atomisation and "Smash it on" :-)

    Any chance you could do a video on spaying up parking sensors on a bumper is there a different approach that you need to do to get it to look the job.
    Stephen

    • @ronniefrankland8517
      @ronniefrankland8517 9 років тому +1

      You can either take the parking sensors out, when you take the bumper off they are normally clicked in pretty easy wouldn't recommend masking them as they always have like a rupper seal on them hope this helps

    Great video again couple of things firstly your videos are a massive improvement now than when you first started so the time you spend editing them is paying off (just my opinion ) secondly I notice on nearly every bonnet you paint you paper round the edges. Do you find you get less dust in the job or is it something you have grew up doing. Once again great video look forward to your next.

      GORILLA_tactics They have ones with glass instead of perspex like this one, mine is glass and I recommend the glass one as it will last a lot longer www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sundstrom-SR200-Full-Mask-/151356736118?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item233d908276

    Question on this restoration. You are priming blocking spot priming then paint. I'm following your lead on my restore project. But I've been reading on on reducing out the epoxy primer spraying over your block work then paint after flashing. Is this way just more use of material?

  • @G33-j4d

    how do you deal with the edges and overspray onto the front side of the panels?
    when you flip it over to do the front, do you tape off with a soft edge from the bottom or just not worry about it too much ?

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  9 років тому

      Geniee That will be in the coming videos but yes I back mask then use a sheet of paper to stop overspray.

    Any way you can show how you mask the hood to spray the top side after you have jammed it

  • @ForcedFalcon
    @ForcedFalcon 9 років тому +1

    Hey gunman, I'm going to be painting my Falcon project car in the coming months as I'm almost finished the panel beating on it and was wondering what your thought would be for the best BC/Clear options. I've only used PPG Cobra and some older du pont which was nice but I want a top of the line clear. I've been looking at Spies Hecker and glasurit which everyone highly recommends. We use water base glasurit where I'm doing my apprenticeship but only have the cheaper panel clears so I haven't had the chance to see their better quality clear coats in person yet.

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  9 років тому +1

      ForcedFalcon Man the Glasurit clears are the best on the market, the 255 hs is mad but takes a bit of getting used to, the 109 is just as good and because its a bit thinner its easier to use.

    • @ForcedFalcon
      @ForcedFalcon 9 років тому +1

      The Gunman Sweet thanks for that. I'll have a talk to the Glasurit rep when he comes in next and see if i can get my hands on some to try out before I attempt to spray my whole car haha.

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  9 років тому +1

      Man, I have just started using some DNA paints and their hs clears are f*&kn awesome, give them a shot and the prices are much better than Glasurit too, so maybe use Glas base and DNA clear.

    • @ForcedFalcon
      @ForcedFalcon 9 років тому

      I was looking into DNA paints while ago after seeing one of their videos about custom painting and found a NZ store which is the only seller here but want $500 for 4L of diamond clear. Their products do look amasing though, I really want to try their mutant crystals and some candys if they aren't too expensive.
