Pastor Geoff Smith Teaches on Philippians 3:2--4:1 (Session 2)

We are back in Philippians chapter 3 and what we are looking at here is--the Philippians are a church with a great deal of integrity and missionary zeal. They are friends with Paul. And Paul, if he finds any fault in them, its that they are struggling with their unity and that's sort of come to focus in the two women that he encourages to reconcile and get along. But he also takes a significant amount of time to warn them about the hazards of the Judiazers. So unlike Galatians, there are no Judiazers in Philippi that we can tell but they are a clear and present danger in his churches. Maybe they even sort of follow him around, if not literally then metaphorically, so they can pounce on the churches once he is moving on. Not that he is actually in Philippi, of course, but he is writing this letter. And he opposes the Judiaziers, of course, in language that suggests just how serious a threat they are...
