Yesterday I came up against a team with a division of a CV and two of these ships. My team didn't stand a chance as the game was over in about 8 minutes simply because of the spotting advantage. They also had a Kearsarge and a Tone on their team. I killed the two DDs with Italian SAP, but that was more due to luck and being on the opposite side of the map, but once they had nothing on their side, the ships on my side didn't last long.
Just watch, if WG adds a German light cruiser line they will be bigger than Ushakov, coated in 25mm, have have the worst dispersion in the game, but have a 9km detection range and more hp than the heavy cruisers.
I remember the times where you were trying about being a CC to get the benefits, to use the resources to make more content better and quickly. Also you said you wouldn't change the ways you do these videos. Congratulations, you've held your promise since then. And you're absolutely right, subs and planes ruin the fun for anybody else playing any other classes.
I don't know what was funnier, the fact that the ship is so hilariously busted, or watching you suffering through demonstrating it, and your passion as to why such things in the game are abhorrent and ruin it for everyone xD

As an Asian server player, I encountered a random battle where the opposing team had four Hildebrand players, making it extremely challenging for me as a destroyer (DD) player. There was nowhere to hide since planes and radar could easily locate destroyers. However, I've now managed to win random battles using Hildebrand, despite never having played a carrier (CV) in random battles before. All I need to do is continuously send out planes to spot enemy destroyers and harass battleships (BBs).
My favorite plane memory was using my *free* halford to spot a dd in cap an accidentally spotted a minotaur sneaking between the islands. 1 salvo from our yam and it evaporated. "Balance" literally nothing he could do.
Now imagine if WG & Lesta ever merge back together in the future and all the ships Lesta made get put into WG WoWs, we'll get the Lothringen alongside the Hildebrand.
We have minimap spotting over at Legends and I noticed that after the rework, radar/sonar ships mattered more on the battlefield than they did before since planes can't spot ships or torps anymore.
Your rants are educational and important. Please keep them up. Now, you also mentioned why you like this game - strategy. Now, if I may, let me educate you. You play much better than I do because of your superior tactics as well as your strategic knowledge. You hit what you aim at; I don't. It is tactical ability, the ability to hit a target when you shoot at it, where you just demolish players like myself. I tend to play torpedo DD's because torps need knowledge to aim, not the eye-hand coordination that gunfire takes. Subs however, have no place in this game, and neither do planes.
I love this ship. 2-3 on each side now. Sky full of unlimited planes. So good for the game. Yeah sarcasm. But one good counter is that if you are playing any BB with overmatch, you will obliterate a Hildy. Faced 3 last game in my Satsuma. Dev striked one early in the game and did 40k each to the other two who were hiding behind islands.. They all died to focus fire. The torp planes are annoying, but just that. If you have good torp belt you can ignore them.
this thing actually has really good secondaries though, 12.5 km and they fire really fast. best part is that theyll be going while you're piloting your planes
Feel like this ship particularly is an overstimulators dream. You get two or three salvos then a tactical squadron, then another tactical squadron, then rinse and repeat. Also funny that the torpedo squadron has the old name still even though they got changed out for Ta 152s. Definetly not worth the cost and as far as I've been seeing from new releases they're limiting it to these overpriced events and not making them regularly available after? Jager did come recently but I can't remember if that was something they mentioned when it released.
I've used kearsarge a lot, and it is incredibly OP for free. In the same way that CVs can, you just perma spot any dd that doesnt have smoke until they die. Then when you are done doing that your spotting range is like 10km so you just pop up with montana guns and delete that cruiser that forgot you were out there somewhere
the trouble with perma spotting is you don't get points for doing it. I once with a Kearsarge perma spotted a Jager, a dd with hardly any AA. He could do nothing to make me go away, and I just stuck with him, totally ruining his game. It helped my team win, taking out a dangerous dd, but I was last on the list and barely got any credits. The Jager player was very angry at me, called me lots of names, asking me what was the point of spotting him since it didn't get me any points.
compared to agir's guns, hildebrand has the same HE, but her AP has improved alpha damage and armor penetration. The turrets also turn faster, same speed as scharnhorst turrets.
Was working my way through FdG yesterday, and subs made it almost unplayable, the 24 second rudder shift meaning I couldn't react to the subs that suddenly popped up 3km away because my hydro couldn't spot them because they were running deep, or they were staying out of their surface detection slinging torps at me and I couldn't do anything. Now I know what you're going to say, DD's could do the same, yes and no, there is a much longer reload time on the DD torps for a similar damage profile.
Completely understand the "frustration" with CVs and subs. I just dont understand how any tier 8-10 CA-BB doesnt have airstrike asw at this point, they are completely defenseless against a sub. CVs, well maybe if they ever get this "fix" in that has been being tested some of that will be fixed, doubt it but hey we can hope.
I do hope WG will do something about their supposed CV rework and a lot players wants to remove plane spotting. Hybrid ships as well as CVs should only able to spot for themselves and the planes should give mini-map spotting to ally ships kinda like how sonar works for subs.
Coming from wot, i never hated carriers that much, they just arent as bad as arty. But.. damn, subs suck man. And this new ship seems pretty damn op too for a hybrid..
I'm also from wot and CVs don't bother me because I remember Conqueror GC 1 shots at the start of the match. Ahh good old 2015 wot days. There are counters to CV like sticking together.

When i read the log i knew if the ship itself is 1 credit its going to be extremly expensive to buy to that insanly good deal so no real surprise but maybe good that not many are going to get this ship :). And the rant is absolutely what many, i think even most players think. I saw a cv kill an atlanta in 2 drops and then laughting in chat about the grand AA cruiser that atlanta is sold to be and it is if your as good of an cv player as i am and many are but if you know what ur doing you do not only create crossfires but also dont really need those to kill very fast.

I've been playing since the closed beta test and quit the game twice - when aircraft carriers were added and when submarines were added. Both times are truly, as they say, “the last time” and “never again.” But damn I love ships and there’s no other game like this, so I recently came back and just play, gritting my teeth when planes keep coming at me again and again or when a submarineidiot is chasing me for the entire battle. P.S. WG casino sucks.
Imo gambling mechanics are fine because - all in all - you get much good stuff in those passes/chest campaigns. Like right now, getting 120 supercontainers does not *guarantee* any good ship, but it *guarantees* very solid amount of flags, camos, bonuses, steel and even dubs. Same goes for campaigns - it's much better to pay 50k dubs for shitload of items (Idk what the drops on this campaign are, i dont play test server) AND a ship (Also its important to assume that the average player will have to pay at least 40% less than 50k for the ship since it will usually drop randomly at some point so the 50k number isn't completely justified but I understand why you want to assume 50K - that's the "wholesale" price) than to pay for example 30k dubs for just the ship. Obviously it would be ideal if WG released in this state and released that thing at a regular price in a few months (Kinda what trade-in even is about), "early accessing" it to the playerbase. I think even WG would make more money this way, but I am no psychic - can't tell what would be. But it certainly would make me want to buy it more.
I got the Hildebrand in less than a dozen containers. I wouldnt recommend going all the way through, I was willing to go through stage 5, I was mainly just resource stacking. Getting some econ boosts and some credits and some XP. I got it on the 4th step.
I had some good laughs watching this video. I don't disparage your rants; I completely agree that Submarines need to be changed and Carriers need to be gone. This game was great when it was surface-action only. I think that submarines can be managed, but not air-strikes. Anything that can air-strike should be removed. Or WG could simply add an option that allows players to exclude carriers from their MM. I'd rather wait for another 30 seconds or minute and get surface battles then have to deal with one...or two...carriers every match.
@@Stephen__White true but the skill requirement for old RTS cvs just gave us the placebo that there were less carriers since a majority of them sucked/had 0 impact. The rework just made even the dented cv players able to actually just grief players now because it's just so easy
@@mofocro Fair but the metric I use to gauge RTS to current CVs. RTS CVs in co-op the bot CV would generally be top of the team and would likely still kill a player or two. Current CVs? The bots lucky to get an attack off. The fact that a good chunk of the player base couldn't do much in RTS CVs is all the more reason the system had to change into one people could actually play. Like I'm not gonna try to say current CVs are perfect, but man it's getting exhausting pointing out to people CVs used to be a whole lot better and they have in fact been around for a very long time.
I wish you *would* complain/rant about CV's and subs every single video. The more you get through to others - including perhaps even WG themselves - the better.

well komisa was allowed in clan battle season 25 so, yes always possible for this to be in clan battle, oh forgot about tone allowed in this seasons of 26 too
uptier is good bcs in reality you could go against stronger ships and if you win or deal good damage you get rewarder more for it which helps you grind xp too :) but we all know cvs dominated world war 2 so giving them so much in game makes them repeat the events :D
WG should release a random mode that is sans cv sans subs... then monitor the player base.. that way they could say they offer all people the options they want.. and allows the player base to speak.. it currently feels like they have from upper management trapped themselves into the "we said we would put cvs in the game" "we said we would put subs in the game" and because they are locked in on that they are trying to force it on people who have been in the game since day x and did not want them... sure they were cool for events and for random playing around once every year but....
Thing is, PQ is EXACTLY right about the carriers. I don’t care how much whinging it is. It is as close to objectively bad design as possible (yes acknowledging it can’t be objective, as some people would enjoy ramming nails to their head as a game). The whole surface spotting mechanics of the game are made - let me emphasise - *entirely* redundant by carriers. It is is 0% a balance issue, it fundamentally breaks the game. No ifs or buts.

i only buy 1 container per event simply because the first one is dirt cheap and im not exactly rich by any means, so i got 1 container for 250 doubloons and it dropped me, i didnt believe it, first thing i did was to watch PQ and see how the ship does because its a hybrid, never had a hybrid ship before.
i like how they nerfed US hybrid line (no one even played it before the nerf now its even more rare then rearest ship in game..) but now they released this
Let's also keep in mind how Hildebrand is a cruiser, which means he can slot radio location and anal-fuck destroyers to the map border if he doesn't kill them with the plane spotting or plane armaments (cus radio location works even when you're using the aircraft on a hybrid as long as the hybrid is a cruiser or destroyer)
I would take a CV over HE spam any day. I don't have a problem with carriers and have never had any problem playing against them or as them. I genuinely do not understand the hate and I have played every ship type at every tier for the last 9 years.
Wargaming should just remove hybrid ships in general (yes, including Tone and Ise) Carriers are inherently overpowered by themselves (both in-game and in real life), so giving surface ships the same striking capabilities as CVs will only end in disaster Planes should be exclusive to carriers and carriers alone.
I remember when WG at least TRIED to be vaguely historically accurate... There's a reason that hybrids or "battlecarriers" never became a reality. Also, what the f-ck are carriers and submarines doing in my World of WARSHIPS game in the first place? But alas, that ship has sailed already and there's no going back. (Pun intended.)

25mm armor wouldn't be bad if it had a ice breaker, if WG just gave Siegfried/Agir an icebreak they would be fantasic instead of mediocre

I saw someone use this thing in game and it was absolutely ridiculous. The cannons also deal monster damage in addition to the planes.

Get a CV, Louisiana or two, some Hildebrands and Gouden Leeuws, Halford and Tromp for DDs and you've got the perfect surface ship team comp.

Meanwhile Tone, the real world OG hybrid, cries in the corner with 3 minute cooldown on tier 6 planes, which can barely spot,as they die in seconds.

Already done playing this game. Haven't touch WoWS for months now and nothing is motivate me to do it either.
This ship is really sick. In the hands of a slightly better than average player it is a deadly theat and a game changer...
I had some good laughs watching this video. I don't disparage your rants; I completely agree that Submarines need to be changed and Carriers need to be gone. This game was great when it was surface-action only. I think that submarines can be managed, but not air-strikes. Anything that can air-strike should be removed. Or WG could simply add an option that allows players to exclude carriers from their MM. I'd rather wait for another 30 seconds or minute and get surface battles then have to deal with one...or two...carriers every match.
So the game was never great then? Because CVs have been around since the early alpha.
@@Stephen__White true but the skill requirement for old RTS cvs just gave us the placebo that there were less carriers since a majority of them sucked/had 0 impact. The rework just made even the dented cv players able to actually just grief players now because it's just so easy
@@mofocro Fair but the metric I use to gauge RTS to current CVs. RTS CVs in co-op the bot CV would generally be top of the team and would likely still kill a player or two. Current CVs? The bots lucky to get an attack off. The fact that a good chunk of the player base couldn't do much in RTS CVs is all the more reason the system had to change into one people could actually play.
Like I'm not gonna try to say current CVs are perfect, but man it's getting exhausting pointing out to people CVs used to be a whole lot better and they have in fact been around for a very long time.
Imaging this ship group up with a Tromp and gulden, how many planes, spoting and kiling zone around islands they can provide.

well komisa was allowed in clan battle season 25 so, yes always possible for this to be in clan battle, oh forgot about tone allowed in this seasons of 26 too
Just got out of a battle. A moving fletcher, I did 14k damage to. Full health fletcher to 2k. he was not happy
uptier is good bcs in reality you could go against stronger ships and if you win or deal good damage you get rewarder more for it which helps you grind xp too :) but we all know cvs dominated world war 2 so giving them so much in game makes them repeat the events :D
WG should release a random mode that is sans cv sans subs... then monitor the player base.. that way they could say they offer all people the options they want.. and allows the player base to speak..
it currently feels like they have from upper management trapped themselves into the "we said we would put cvs in the game" "we said we would put subs in the game" and because they are locked in on that they are trying to force it on people who have been in the game since day x and did not want them... sure they were cool for events and for random playing around once every year but....
And, the super super strong hybrid sold as a pay to win. There is just some fundamental wrong here.

Thing is, PQ is EXACTLY right about the carriers. I don’t care how much whinging it is. It is as close to objectively bad design as possible (yes acknowledging it can’t be objective, as some people would enjoy ramming nails to their head as a game). The whole surface spotting mechanics of the game are made - let me emphasise - *entirely* redundant by carriers. It is is 0% a balance issue, it fundamentally breaks the game. No ifs or buts.
The rework will be a buff to CV rather than a nerf.

Yeah, what was up with that Bf 110c label? Did they use the wrong model or forget to change the description or something? Edit: looks like both squadrons were using Ta 152 models? I thought it looked like a long FW 190.

i only buy 1 container per event simply because the first one is dirt cheap and im not exactly rich by any means, so i got 1 container for 250 doubloons and it dropped me, i didnt believe it, first thing i did was to watch PQ and see how the ship does because its a hybrid, never had a hybrid ship before.
With the aircraft rework, will the planes still be as OP?

i like how they nerfed US hybrid line (no one even played it before the nerf now its even more rare then rearest ship in game..) but now they released this
Let's also keep in mind how Hildebrand is a cruiser, which means he can slot radio location and anal-fuck destroyers to the map border if he doesn't kill them with the plane spotting or plane armaments (cus radio location works even when you're using the aircraft on a hybrid as long as the hybrid is a cruiser or destroyer)

I would take a CV over HE spam any day. I don't have a problem with carriers and have never had any problem playing against them or as them. I genuinely do not understand the hate and I have played every ship type at every tier for the last 9 years.
I saw this thing a week or 2 ago on the Asian servers and I was like WTF IS THIS!

Wargaming should just remove hybrid ships in general (yes, including Tone and Ise)
Carriers are inherently overpowered by themselves (both in-game and in real life), so giving surface ships the same striking capabilities as CVs will only end in disaster
Planes should be exclusive to carriers and carriers alone.
I remember when WG at least TRIED to be vaguely historically accurate... There's a reason that hybrids or "battlecarriers" never became a reality. Also, what the f-ck are carriers and submarines doing in my World of WARSHIPS game in the first place? But alas, that ship has sailed already and there's no going back. (Pun intended.)

actually the old german cruiser line's trops are preety stupid, your enermy wouldn;t let u drop trops right in their face, but this time u get no trops loaded on the ship but on your aircraft! That's nice

There should be a game using the warships of 1861-1920; far less prominent planes and subs :D
