I wanted to know how strong it would be if WG gave the saturation gimmick to German BBs superstructures because people doing 10k, 20k, 30k just shooting your superstructure is ridiculous, not to mention the HE spam that you take to it and die to fires
Honestly superstructure damage should only do a total of a quarter of your health in my opinion, after hat superstructure hits don't get any damage because there is no more superstructure/people in the superstructure. Adding on having overheated guns for cruisers and destroyers would also help, like every 20-30 consecutive shots your gun overheats snd you have to wait like 30 seconds for them to cool off. This would drastically remove HE spam and people now have to yse their brain. Of course im gonna get alot of hate from this mainly from Cruiser and destroyer mains.

Maines superstructure is much shorter, leading to more overpens when shot at from the front or back. Also Maines firing angles are better. But the better citadel goes to Monty.
Some of it is the fact that the devs are Russian and due to a little dispute in the 1940s, they probably still don't think very fondly of Germany and I think intentionally made German units worse (and at times not surprisingly made Russian units unrealistically good; exact same thing in World of Tanks where at least when I last played, German units regularly faced stuff 30, 40 years newer which were not surprisingly much more compact and smaller targets to try and hit, with more sloped armor, etc.) But also given the way that Germany's usually one of the primary countries represented in these games because they historically had enough ships/tanks to have real tech trees rather than just prototype/only on paper units and these games put in the real units first, then the theoretical stuff and the newer stuff always power creeps the older stuff into obsolescence, Germany also suffers more than other countries.

You're stealthy yes, but you're going to go boom the instant a battleship looks at you. Also, you can only jump other cruisers if there are no destroyers or carriers around...and good luck with the latter in the current meta.

Maine is the reason why the tagline "use more gun" exists. Throwing 16 shells into the broadside of any target is not going to end pretty even if none of them are citadel hits.
Maine is quite broken in somewhat. Okay, it has the speed of the Iowa. You can do tank built on it, or even a secondary built on it. Quite accurate. All this combine with the most broken Funny Button of them all. Seriously, you can reduce fire damage up to almost 95% of overall fire and flooding damage on the ship. Which means you can literally tank 4 fires and 2 floodings at the same time to gain that sweet reload speed boost.
I do know the pain of WG messing up German BBs at high tier. Coming from the Legends client we just this past update got buffs to GK. They had originally coded in the GK to have over HALF it's HP tied into its casemate & superstructure before saturation kicked in. It was VERY common to get chunked for 15 - 25k from exclusively superstructure upper deck hits even when angled. Now it's MUCH tankier after they massively lowered saturation numbers all around. Which is definitely a breath of fresh air.
I wish Maine was a super accurate Montana with Wisconsin level accuracy and improved rudder shift I never really enjoyed Alsace style ships that rely on a high gun count with lower accuracy

WG is doing some additional weird shit in the background on dispersion. I'm willing to bet that's why the artillery is so buggy and why they refuse to acknowledge there's even a problem. The dispersion code is probably so insane, it probably breaks the build if you even open one of those files, let alone try to change the code.
That trick with last heal is nice. I once used YY torpedo reload same way. I just launch torps, hit last torp reload, get new one from captain perk and use it again :D It was lot of torps in water and enemy ships close to me so I got like 6 kills that game and we won.

question: how does the super-ship credit economy work? i heard they were designed to drain a lot of credit. is it only expensive to buy the ship and then you gain a normal amouont of credits per game OR do you also lose credits per game? since i dont play premium i wouldnt wanna buy it if i loose credits for each game i play it.
It works exactly as you fear.... Boat load of credits to buy (48 million for Cruisers, over 50 million for BBs); and you will lose on average 300k-400k credits per game UNLESS you use your Blue Credit Bonus AND have a great game.... otherwise, you'll go broke quickly.

The citadel juts out the waterline higher than Montana's, leading to her receiving more critical hits that could've otherwise just been normal penetrations on the former ship, the superstructure is quite large (though fortunately it's not as huge as the superstructures found on the Iowa-class as well as Georgia) making her a pretty easy target for HE spammers to farm off of, and due to the overall size of her hull, she's got a colossal turning circle and sluggish rudder shift (then again that's the case for practically every superbattleship). Other than those, I don't see any more perceivable weaknesses on the Maine.

Overmatch is a dumb af mechanic that shouldnt exist on heavy cruisers... Whats the point of being a heavy cruiser if your armor becomes light cruiser armor against overmatch.
Overmatch needs to exist. Otherwise, you have immortal cruisers that sit at range and can’t be damaged unless with HE. Then you’d also have heavy cruises that sit bow-on in close range that take minimal damage and out trade BB’s with fire and DPM. The best thing to do would be to change most heavy cruisers to have 30/32mm mid sections so they can have a chance to outplay BB’s through wiggling.
I do feel sorry for the teammates seeing PQ in a super BB 110k HP unkillable but then just fullsend blow up in 2 mins lmao.

One of Maines biggest strengths seem to be the excellent firing angles combined with a rather small superstructure.
That's essentially Montana's strength too. She has a small superstructure and doesn't have a giant citadel unlike other battleships.
