"Just one more cast." Ten casts later. "OK last cast for real." Don't we all do that when fishing? Looks like you had a great day. Keep up the great videos!
Hey Alex, I recently bought a 6’6 MH Shakespeare Excursion Casting rod at Walmart for 5$. Fished with it a few times down here in MS. Caught a nice 2 1/2 pound largemouth, and I have had no issues with it. Thanks for all the videos you pump out, you have inspired me to be realistic about fishing. I am on a budget and your videos have taught me many things. Especially saving money. Thanks Man.
Hey a day of catching fish is a better day that working! I'm doing some boat maintenance tomorrow and will hopefully have it back on the water for the first time in almost 2 years!
Not quite a Heron. There is this one lake that I camp at in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The cove I fish is pretty quiet, but great for Trout, Catfish, Sunfish, and the occasional small mouth. But it never fails, I could be fishing there 10 minutes, or 3 hours and there will guaranteed be an Osprey that comes by and crashes into the water only to pull out a good sized trout. This always happens about 50 yards from where I have my line. It is pretty cool to see them though. It's a mating pair and they have a nest somewhere close to the cove. Gorgeous birds and impressive how they continuously beat me in fish landed.
That’s a handful of bass on the YoZuri jerkbait. Not a criticism here, but I would have rigged the jerkbait of the Abu reel & Vengeance Rod (good rod btw), and the dropshot on the spinning reel.
Thats why this show is called realistic fishing cause like most average fisherman they dont have a curado d.c with paired with a $200 dollar casting rod
Nick Alvarez well, neither do I. I think my last spinning reel was a $17 special. My comment wasn’t a criticism ( I think I even said that), I was just wondering why he chose to rig his two rod and reels the way he did, and he answered me explaining why he did what he did. Apparently, he wasn’t offended, just other people in this thread. 🙄
Good work. Weather has turned off cooler here too and has slowed them down. I caught 63 bluegill Saturday, all nice ones and a couple small bass. Went yesterday and only got a handful of small bluegill and a couple more small bass. Interesting to note, those small bass have kept my bass streak alive. I've caught at least one bass 6 trips in a row so far.
You're the reason I love gulp products! They do great for a multi-species approach. Also, the poor man's drop shot. Love it, and it works just as good as those expensive weights 👍🎣

Awesome this place congratulations fisherman! Have a blessed week and lots of Fish. Hug.👍🎣🐟
Here in Richmond VA area I constantly see hawks, eagles and osprey swoop down for fish. It is so awesome to see. One time I was reeling in a small crappie and a hawk flew out of a tree right towards me chasing my crappie. I started yelling and swinging my pole to scare it away. It flew away about 15 feet from me. I could see the hawks eyes zeroed on my fish and at me as it turned to fly off. Was hilarious and a lil scary afterwards, lol. Never reeled in so fast in my life, haha!
Lil m Pagenkopp I was trout fishing and everyone was getting skunked. A bird swooped down, caught a trout, then did a low fly-by past everyone fishing just to taunt us
@@jooky5 LOL! Seen that many times. As long as it is not a snake, everyone screaming for the bird to not let go, haha! Cool to see the Eagles do that and watch them take it to a near by tree and eat it.
Hey Alex that’s a good way to start our spring fishing With a few good size bass those 3 inch minnows might be a little too big now for the spring maybe when it gets hotter that willdo better
You are trying something new I just tried something old. A guy at work gave me a Zebco 33 so I cleaned it up and caught a few fish on it. That took me back to the ‘80’s and pond pond fishing asa teen
I just wanted to say as a watch your video Yesterday I went to my local Walmart and killed the sales 25 cent tungsten jigs 1.00 110 yard ice fishing line 6/4 lb test spent a total of 5 dollars
Sorry if I brought this up before, but have you seen the "Tokyo Rig" yet? Also called the "Punch Shot," it's like a short drop shot that uses a stiff wire instead of the fishing line. I bought a set online, but haven't tried them yet. There are a lot of videos on them already. First time I try them, I might use those Creme Flip Flops for maximum wiggle action.
Yeah, busted. I must have missed that one. I tend to pay closer attention to the fishing, but occasionally like to see the deals you get and stuff people send.
Well one thing is for sure. Those bass all know a jerk when they see one..... I meant the bait!!! Good video Alex. Nice weather out there. I’m still in 4’ of snow.
Had heron, cormorants, Turns, and several types off gulls take my fish as reeling them in even had couple birds grab the bait on cast twice it was spinners not dead or live bait.
I rig the 3inch waitles on 4 octopus hook from gill to gill and treat like a jerk bait ,,I use 6lb test it's my go to when the bite is tuff might have to send you a pic of the set up and I find spinning reel is the best for that application but that's just my preference
While fishing with my daughter at our favorite lake last year we moved to a different spot, then we saw a Bald Eagle flying around where we just were. Bald Eagles coming back to NE Ohio.
I've tried some of the gulp products and only when they were on sale due to the lack of confidence I had in it but never seemed to be able to put together a good day with them. I usually end up giving the remainder away
Another great vid, Alex. I believe you are the only guy I know who is honest about the size of fish he catches. Realistic! Now a question for my favorite fishing filosopher; Is the term honest fisherman an oxymoron?

Its easier to get the hooks out when the fish is laying on something. If you try to grab the fish out of the water, you could get hooked.
