i complain about this all the time, i made it years and years ago because so many are so void of any info, "this is my MS2 car blah blah "starts and kinda idles" no other info
Ive been researching for a couple of weeks now, on how to tune pretty much by myself and this video totally "clicked" for me. Thanks for making this video, now off to playing with fuel tables :)
Im sure ill be asking you a lot of questions soon, just bought a L33 5.3 to stick in my Challenge but I still have a few before I get it installed( paint work first) !!! Thanks for the Videos!!
So a generic question, with the idle hunt , as seen with trying to tame a gnarly camshaft , is there a menu section in the Tuner Studio that will allow you to change the “Idle Adaptive Spark Control” over speed and under speed timing as you can with HPTuners ? Looking to use Tuner Studio with a Speeduino ECU. Don’t have it yet but would like to look through Tuner Studio as a demo but cannot seem to find anything more that the online book . We cannot start searching through until you hook up a ECU apparently . Thanks Matt ! Great videos.
Appreciate the video man..currently have MS on my turbo coupe..still learning to tweak the tables. Is there a set ideal pattern of numbers on the table? My afr is pretty much where I want it at cruise and boost. But some of the numbers kinda make big jumps, didnt know if I should be smoothing it out as much as possible?
love the vids keep them coming! very helpfull! and dont u hate that when the problem is right in front of u and u dont catch it likie the volts reading below 13.5 at the time u need to catch it.. I noticed the volts went up from 11 to 12 after driving was the wire hooked up then or is megasquirt volts off on the reading
I really want to try retro fitting the ms/6010 setup on a BBC. I think with a crank trigger it would work fine. Better gas mileage which has always stopped me from building a BBC. That or a BW S480 1.32/96 LSX deal. My pops wants a Nova or Malibu, but it would leave us more cash for goodies if we do a fox/v6 sn95/ or v6 f-body.
Hey denmah I'm having an issue getting my car started when its at operating temprature 190-200f. I downloaded your base tune for a 5.3 on ls1 tech and it starts fine when it's cold but not when it's warm. I am still running the stock injectors because I want to familiarize my self with the ms1 and 6010 setup while it still NA. I have adjusted the cranking PW up and down and it's still a long crank before it fires. If i hold the throttle down it will start easier but still cranks for a while.
i love your videos man, very helpful. were about to put a pimp system from stinger in my buddy's turbo coupe and your videos will help up get the bitch running right
A couple tuning questions? When tuning fuel/timing maps, do you tune to the maximum boost pressure from the start? For example say I want to run a max of 14psi for a hot tune, but i want to tune it down to 10 on the street. When tuning timing maps and fuel maps do you start at wastegate pressure than add pound per pound and than go back and check your maps? Also Could you do a video on tuning a timing map , i have yet to find one here on youtube.
Other cranking pulses? I just saw one table under cranking. Does changing the injector size have an effect on fueling during cranking? Sorry for the nube questions?
what boost did u guys end up keeping it, im thinking of taking my ignition module out with talking to mrturbo, he said it has a enough timing if u want to take it out, did u ever get it back on the dyno
I know this is and old video but I hope you can still answer me I'm just getting in to the boost and tuning stuff not knowing anything about it yet I'm working in my 1990 5.0l getting a turbo on would you use the same numbers for AFR or close anyways and what do i need to change for the distributor to use advanced timing I got the megasquirt plug and play for mustang.
Found the problem! when I first start cranking the rpm spikes to about 9000 rpm and the injector ms guage shoots up to 25ms therefore flooding the engine. So I put the 80kpa line in the ve table to 0 across the whole board and it starts beautifully. Any ideas on how I can fix the spike?
i do have a powercommander, and went to zx10 injectors for xtra fuel, im running stock map since im only running 5 pds, do u guys take any timing out and fuel pressure u running
Matt can you please explain more basic about scaling when adjusting fuel tables for us numerically challenged bastards,or any megasquirt video will do.
i needa start up cal for a blown 302 60lb injectors, i went in a changed the kpa for boost an now the car wont start.. ran fine before?? if i can get the car to start i can tune it.
Aww man i need some of your quick wiring guru help asap im almost done with my micro squirt wiring but im stuck on 2 items and a question on 2 is their any way you could hit me up
I also know this is a very old video but is that afr from a wideband or narrow? Because I can't for the life of me get that megasquirt gauge (narrowband) to match my wideband gauge
+nz kite actually there is a cool thing called battery offset correction, also we knew it wasnt charging but wanted to make a helpful video there is a fuse for his rear battery feed that blew
Don't get why most videos aren't straight forward finally one that is and explains what is actually happening.

Just found this video and all I have to say is thank you! This is the only straight forward video I've found on this.
I was looking around so eagerly for something like this video in my early days. Excellent!

Really appreciate these videos!! VE table learning is key on these buckets! haha
Thanks for your time making this video bro...

Really, I didn't know MS1 supported the HEI thanks.

Not on facebook
But on the microsquirt v3 do u have a wire digram im sure the pic of on on diyauto tune is not color matchin

are you near or located in little rock? I've seen a car very similar to this build at GPI.
I need a tune for a basic 2.3L 4 cylinder. Do you have any for a good starting point?
Will your Base Tune work with the LT1 Optispark?
Is this the basic software or is this special burn on the fly software?
what fuel set up did u guys use on the turbo bike
Now, with those air fuel values displayed, was that from a Wideband? If so what one?
i needa start up cal for a blown 302 60lb injectors, i went in a changed the kpa for boost an now the car wont start.. ran fine before?? if i can get the car to start i can tune it.
With 80 lb injectors, did you have any trouble with keeping a clean idle?
not with any of the LS v8s
Super easy actually!
@nd he is right!
Any reason not to use the Tune Analyze Live function?
***** Was that a wideband o2 sensor?? Thx
Aww man i need some of your quick wiring guru help asap im almost done with my micro squirt wiring but im stuck on 2 items and a question on 2 is their any way you could hit me up
forcedfoe1 you ever get it done?
what is a good way to data log a micro squirt i am building a turbo bike and cant have a laptop on the tank while running it
that is pretty difficult there is no on board logging
***** easy fix lol.... its open source, google.
thanks matt your the shit
sounds like Dan that pulled a gun on rudnick
Benny Hue
sounds like 1000 Bocks
Good video, But why put in a LS1 in a 5.0 why not just get a camaro? Like me buying a Honda and put in a Ford Lightning motor in the Honda.
the ford is a cheaper, better platform.
I also know this is a very old video but is that afr from a wideband or narrow? Because I can't for the life of me get that megasquirt gauge (narrowband) to match my wideband gauge
Michael Casella usually a grounding issue, you can also change the scale on the settings till it matches.
You should be able to run the output from the wideband straight to the ecu. MS doesn't need the stock narrowband o2
your battery voltage was less than 12volts.. talk about blind :) you have to start your tune all over again at 14.4volts :)
+nz kite actually there is a cool thing called battery offset correction, also we knew it wasnt charging but wanted to make a helpful video there is a fuse for his rear battery feed that blew
+Sloppy Mechanics that moment when you know your shit so you reply like a boss... well played :D
aren't you glad so many people here want to teach you how to do stuff?
