I love the Alm and Rudolf's fight cutscene. The "You took my friends", and "Now, you took Celica too" conveys so much emotion. The fighting shows Alm's anger towards Rudolf, and he gives it everything he's got.
The voice acting was perfect. While the gameplay was flawed, it was fun, and the story was spot on!
Wonderful Fire Emblem experience.
Skies From Below When he says "Now, You took Celica too" I start screaming like a lunatic. It really shows how adorable their relationship is. Well, I think so anyways.

Skies From Below I love Alm’s voice actor. He also voiced 9S from Nier Automata and I immediately recognized it when I first heard what Alm sounds like.

The reunion scene makes me cry every time just because of how heartfelt it is. That's my favorite cutscene in this game.
FE:Echoes focuses on the theme that war is tragic, just like the much older FE games.

James Smith I wouldn't say they necessarily cut corners per say. It's just a different style, and I think the game is better for it giving it a unique identity. However, I believe the cutscenes in terms of their content is what kills it for me. More fight scenes activate!
Kinda late but the frame rate in Awakening and Fates is actually higher than in Echoes and 3H. It's why the animations in both Fates and Awakening are more fluid than here.
Not gonna really say that makes the Fates cutscenes better. Just that if you liked Echoes cutscenes, I'd really like to know why (unless it's the voice acting, because they nailed it in Echoes, probably better even than 3H imo).

yuanfen it may have originally been part of the game only to be cut later for whatever reason. Noticbly the cutecene takes place at night rather than meeting Celica during the day

They were trying to give it an anime look right? They even use 2D animation at some points and it actually looks good. I know it takes a lot more time, but if they just hadn't half-assed these and made them fully 2D animated these could've been amazing and incredibly impressive

I honestly hope that FE Switch has either fully animated (2D) cutscenes, I think it fits the anime-aesthetic FE has had recently, or try to put as much effort in as they did Awakening, even Fates's cutscenes don't look like they got as much love as the Awakening ones.
So people ask for a fully voiced game, and a game with a compelling story. And you whine, because they cut the budget on one area, to work more on another? The animations were fluent out of cutscene. Attention to fine details. Good character development on each and every unit. Wonderful story. Despite rushing near the end, it was still fantastic.

I thought that the cutscenes were only an artstyle choice. Nothing seems particularly half-assed; the scenes are consistent with each other. It also kinda fits since the story is twenty-five years old, and there have been so many more Fire Emblem games with their own plots after it.
Skies From Below; SoV having better writing than its predecessors doesn't exempt the other parts of the game from criticism. You're an idiot for even insinuating that it apparently has to be one or the other.

I just finished this game and absolutely adored it. It was heart wrenching and beautifully remastered. I really think this is my favorite FE game I have completed so far. I love the incorporation of all the voice acting and the flow of the storyline that is harder to get in the format of new fire emblem games. I just enjoyed this game so much and wish I could replay it without knowing what happens.

Neither do I. Another thing that's inconsistent is Alm getting angry and blaming Rudolf for everything, where before the actual battle against him he says that Rudolf seems familiar and that he can't bring himself to hate him. It doesn't make any sense. At least the rest of the game is great

Zebliin (6:00) This dream of Celica's was just a vision of what could have happened. We don't ever get to see what occurred before that fight because different paths were chosen. I don't see anything wrong with Alm here because Rudolf and his army may have killed everyone else in that timeline, which never came to pass.

I don't know if it was foreshadowing/intentionally or not, but that scene with Berkut and Rinea at 5:09 looks like that one big thing that'll happen to Rinea later in the story

I mean, it’s far from bad, they even had some anime segments for the animation, but Fates and Awakening‘s animation looked smooth and detailed, meanwhile Echoes’ looks choppier and with less realistic animation at times. Again not bad but I do think Echoes has slightly worse animation imo.
I actually liked the animations in this game, it reminded me of a combination between an anime and the normal FE render style. I prefer the normal style, but I like this one as well.

I really love how they handled the game, the animstions were dark and the art style and armor of characters really have a renaissance vibe to it.
The voice lines with the static really adds to the touch, making it nastalgic even tho I never played the gba games, and I love it all

Seeing that this is a remake from Gaiden (Famicom times), it seems perfect to me the animation and art style. It portraits the fact that all this happens way before awakening or fates.
I like the art style of both the Awakening/Fates cutscenes and Echoes', however I prefer Echoes because they all had story impact rather than almost all character intros like Fates. (awakening also had more story driven cutscenes)
Berkut and Jeddah best villains alongside the demon king, nergal the malevolent, and Valter the moonstone. I won't say Camus cause he's hard neutral even though he goes toe to toe with marth.
The cutscenes don't do Jeddah or berkut any justice lmao. If you played the game their stories are awesome

Someone exactly, that's basically what I meant. Like the impact of the scene where Fernand meets Berkut had way more impact to me compared to the scene before you fight Xander for example. Something to do with peoples movement being less dramatic or something
Yeah yeah, it's just that it looks choppy and it adopted a weird style, but atleast they knew to convey emotions-
They should be aware that the 3DS has limitations if game designers want to put animated cutscenes like these. I don't know how powerful the New 3DS is when you compare it to home consoles like the GameCube or Wii but I do know that regular 3DS's isn't as powerful as the Gamecube and its successors. It has to process a lot if Smash 4, Pokemon Sun and Moon is being played on it for example.
Personally i prefer this art style than the awak/fates one.

It's a cultural difference within fodlan. It has always been this way with other fire emblem games though, physical units are typically male whole magic users are typically female
Definitely intended. There are still plenty of roles expected of men and women (as seen in dialogue during the game) but it seems that women going to war isn’t really an issue for people in Fódlan.
Also, it’s practicality. It’s easier to make a couple male and female designs for certain classes and copy them endlessly then do the same with both men and women.

Normally I'm the type of person who always favor the Japanese dub because usually the acting is always better but man, the English voice acting in this game is spot on! I'd say it's almost just as good as the Japanese dub!

KWZ To be fair, Celica was revived due to Mila's soul being in the blade, and she used the last of her powers to revive Celica.
But it is sort of confirmed that Berkut and Rinea are in heaven.
