The irony of the show being called “Invincible” and Mark getting his ass beat every episode is hysterical.

2:35 this scene is subtle but I really love the subtext here. Like even though Mark missed, he still is quick enough to register jt in the speed that Nolan does, indicating that he is just as powerful and quick, therefore is a threat. Which is why Nolan frowns and hits him because he did not expect him to keep up with him in any sense. Small hit indicates the power Mark has but has yet untap.
Wow you are right, his mind registered it but his body just cant keep up, at this time he really doesnt know how to use his body or powers at all
You really miss the scene where he flashes back to the baseball game when it's gone. It ends the fight so well because he answers his own question of "what's 17 more years?" And then they show how it isn't about the years, a beautiful moment that couldn't be taken away from him in this world was the 20-30 seconds it took for the ball to watch his son run around the bases after hitting a homerun and those moment make his son's life irreplaceable, and actually filled with worth.
And instead we got some shitty Raid Shadow Legends looking ass outro for the last minute of this clip
Invincible: "Was mom's life meaningless too?"
Omni-Man: "In a cosmic sort of way, yes."

I love how this show isn't just violent for the sake of being violent. Most of the deaths/fights are genuinely heartbreaking and suspenseful, and actually have stakes and meaning to them. Most movie/tv fights (especially in superhero media) are made to primarily entertain the viewer, but I'd argue most of the fights in this show are designed to DISGUST the viewer instead, which I think is really smart. Just look at the train scene; it isn't glamorous, it's horrifying and awful, just like it would be in real life. It makes the show feel a lot more serious and grounded in comparison to others and I love it.
It's a good way of showing just how terrifying a pair of superhumans of that tier fighting each other would actually be.
How easily the Viltrumites tore each other apart, Omniman was definitely still pulling his punches

Him being half human doesn’t weaken him cuz viltrumite dna is so pure it’s like he is a full one. Omni-Man actually knows how to use his powers. Superman could fight like this but writers just make him into a brawler who never bothers to use his super speed in a fight. I can count on one had the # of times he fights like this
granted Superman writers have to make write him as a hero and thus come up with villains for him to fight, vs Omni-Man (and his species) who are the top level threats the good guys have to fight
Superman is proven stronger than Omni man... Unless if he has kryptonite omni man would not stand a chance
@@KmartShopper471 at the end of the day it doesn't matter
they are equivalents, Omni-Man's species is the equivalent of Kryptonains and they have a very similar power set
comparing different comics is always a silly idea cause whatever upper limit is set is arbitrary (nor do writers accurately maintain "power levels", Superman can benchpress a planet, therefore he should never struggle to lift anything on Earth and yet does cause....writing)
anyway the point of my initial comment was Omni-Man fights competently (or is written to fight competently) all of the time, vs Superman who fights competently like 1% of the time
It's basically why I like Superman from The Dark Knight Returns. Compared to Omni Man, Superman is much more human than he is since he grew up amongst humans his entire life and his compassion for them is much larger than Nolan, (go figure) so when Clark had to fight Batman at some point, it seemed impossible since he's fucking Superman and Batman is human, but it's hinted that their friendship they had for several decades is what held Clark back from down-right destroying him and instead tried to reason with him while Bruce just uses that friendship they had and his compassion to his advantage in the fight. (Makes you wonder if Bruce would be a good friend) If Clark hadn't had any relations with Bruce and just saw him as some vigilante who is causing trouble for others who "murdered" the Joker as the public does, he would've killed him. I think that's a good way to hold back Superman from his full power.
