Your analogies for reflection- and injection clients are not the best. Maybe research this more next time. Reflection bots load the client and looks at fields during runtime, while injection will insert some code that makes the field easier to access (such as a getter) before running. I have a video about this topic, where I write a program that modifies the clients code before running.

I profited around 3b by the end of it running the money making bots for another month and a bit.
They reason they didn't ban bots was so that: 1. Development of improved bots would stagnate while Jagex was working on anti-bot systems to catch all the existing and emerging methods 2. They were making a comprehensive list of botters, figuring out which ones sell gp for what company, who owns what, where they're coming from, etc. 3. The haitus gave botters peace of mind, making them wreckless, botting on their mains, accruing massive stockpiles of GP, and otherwise incriminating themselves and gathering all resources into one basket for the eventual nuking. This was for bot nuke day, mind you. Now they don't ban bots because the membership revenue pleases their investor overlords, and makes up for the fact that they can't flood the game with gambling and MTX (aside from bonds, for the goodie two-shoes who are afraid of the black market)
Yeah, I think these things should be quite obvious. Although a lot of previous botters did slip through the system which was a bit unfortunate, I wish they had caught more people. As a minor side note, it's spelled reckless.
It's no wonder many RS players these days don't trust jagex whatsoever. They've got such a long laundry list of shit they've done it's crazy. I do remember those days though, people were showing screen shots of using dungeoneering bots for weeks without stopping with no ban.
The only way to properly fix bots in runescape is to revamp how people play the game, so bots can't just be so easily made. Like if getting items is just monotony then bots can usually easily do such work.
Guilty rolled back + 14 day ban for personal botting in 2011. Jagex took 90% of my money. Left my gear reset all my stats to 50%aside from a few, all I wanted was 60 ranged...and so while I slept I botted ranged guild.
These times were so funny. Botted thirteen 99s on my main. It only got banned after I started killing mobs for money on it, I guess I used same method gold farmers did which flagged me out. Just recently recoveried that account back, funnily enough jagex had done nothing else but reseted my mage from 99 to 96.
PS. I have completely stopped botting after getting that account banned, was my first RS account, and was pretty devastated about that. It has been really nice to find the game again, after botting since 2007 or 2008. Its really fun doing the stuff yourself.
Let me say that originally 30-40% of players back in the day were pkers, once they took out wild and free trade is what made the drastic decline, literally everyone I know who played did not come back, it wasn’t the bots, bots kept the game running actually
About what you said about OSRS...it DID almost die in fact. Participation dropped off significantly when players ran out of stuff to do, and it only came back when new content was added to OSRS. Jagex could have easily let it die. So why didn’t they?
I used to bot on my main back in the day. I wonder if they found out and I just didn't get banned because of their policy. By any case, I wasn't farming gold anyways. Just botting all the shitty skills like agility and runecrafting.

Shit on me as much as you like of course, but I've literally used a primitive static delay macro recorder to get to 99 in thieving, cooking, fletching (so far). I've never heard a peep from Jagex who I thought would surely notice such an archaic method.
0:12 Kind of a tangent, but I disagree. The whole idea of devalued accomplishments has always rubbed me the wrong way. What value is there to your accomplishments? You can just convince those around you that you put in the work, and what does admiration from internet randomers matter to someone?
Yeah, I don't get that either. It's one of the things people complain about regarding the Treasure Hunter/Squeel of Fortune as well. Just because someone uses that doesn't mean your own achievements are any different.

I was around when bot nuke went off I was actually that very day was killing these giant worms that are in same cave at queen black dragon bots were massive in numbers bot nuke hit an omg the money per hour was insane
I used to do a lil bit of botting back in high school, specifically fishing, that was it, but i had my fishing lvls rolled back several times but never got banned or lost any of my profits from it.
I botted fishing too lol. Wasn’t gonna sit there and watch my guy fish for hours so I did other shit. But I only botted when I was on my computer
Makes sense. Great video. Keep them coming!
I’ve heard that in the first year or two of OSRS, people could bot with a minimal chance of getting banned. Don’t know how true it is, though
They should make a quest that you fight Green bald bots and you hunt them down in bot spots we all used to know then the boss at the end is those combat bots with Dragon med helm.
That explains my nonstop 96 hour dungeoneering run ....
I remember I started playing RuneScape again after they brought free trade back, and I've managed to bot 15 99s before the bot nuke. I even remember botting dungeoneering for like 70 hours straight. I never got banned , but I quit after eoc
fun fact, during 2010 i got a manual perm ban for botting, while afking in castlewars for the decorative armours XD
They should make a skill that lets you do things while not logged in kinda like ur character doing jobs or skilling that way i can spend my time doing other stuff
There is actually: farming :)
Archeology
Even before watching this video I got an ad for some bot app manager BS. I haven’t played RS in years... TF, how UA-cam going to put bot maker ads before your videos like this, doin you real dirty there.
you dont know the half of it, in 2011 i botted 55-99 rc (doing nats) 60-99 con - 70-99 cooking/firemaking, 55-99 mining (doing mythril ore) along with thieving crafting fletching hunter woodcutting agility to max out my account suicide botting 24/7 for 4 months and i didnt get a single ban, back then they were doing the 3 strike policy. I profited around 3b by the end of it running the money making bots for another month and a bit.
Original bot nuke had nothing to do with mtx. Happened about four months before Squeal.
They reason they didn't ban bots was so that:
1. Development of improved bots would stagnate while Jagex was working on anti-bot systems to catch all the existing and emerging methods
This explains why my friend got his wc lvl reset to 1 instead of just a ban, still had his cape on too
Certainly explains how I maxed an account with just bots, had 10 accounts with 99 rc and 6 with 85 Slayer at the same time, running 24/7.
Yo Colonello thanks for these great videos, this was another top tier video!
Frrr
this makes so much sense. i used to bot like crazy and never got banned. 99 range at the ranging guild 24/7
The only way to properly fix bots in runescape is to revamp how people play the game, so bots can't just be so easily made. Like if getting items is just monotony then bots can usually easily do such work.
Guilty rolled back + 14 day ban for personal botting in 2011. Jagex took 90% of my money. Left my gear reset all my stats to 50%aside from a few, all I wanted was 60 ranged...and so while I slept I botted ranged guild.
i remember botting on rsbuddy for weeks at a time. and i did my fair share on osbot.
What is that track played during the end slate???
These times were so funny. Botted thirteen 99s on my main. It only got banned after I started killing mobs for money on it, I guess I used same method gold farmers did which flagged me out. Just recently recoveried that account back, funnily enough jagex had done nothing else but reseted my mage from 99 to 96.
PS. I have completely stopped botting after getting that account banned, was my first RS account, and was pretty devastated about that. It has been really nice to find the game again, after botting since 2007 or 2008. Its really fun doing the stuff yourself.
I know someone who was wrongfully banned for botting and never got their acc back which sucks
Let me say that originally 30-40% of players back in the day were pkers, once they took out wild and free trade is what made the drastic decline, literally everyone I know who played did not come back, it wasn’t the bots, bots kept the game running actually
Jagex will never admit that they blundered.
About what you said about OSRS...it DID almost die in fact. Participation dropped off significantly when players ran out of stuff to do, and it only came back when new content was added to OSRS. Jagex could have easily let it die. So why didn’t they?
The answer to every single "why" question that has to do with jagex is money. Plain and simple.
Jamflex no ban bots. Reeee
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
U cant trust a single Thing that coronelle Guy Are saying
@@abendoktor5278 ?? Why not? I know him personally, and he doesn't make stuff like this up. Can you please explain what you mean?
I used to bot on my main back in the day. I wonder if they found out and I just didn't get banned because of their policy. By any case, I wasn't farming gold anyways. Just botting all the shitty skills like agility and runecrafting.
Holy shit I forgot about bot nuke day. My account got banned because of the auto dropper i used for a few WC levels lol
Edit: The reason why they were losing so many players during that time is because they continued to make updates the player base didn't like. I was one of those players.
F2p players must have all left this year
My chaos druid bot around this time went from 70 combat stats to around 90's using shared on whip
So thats why my first account never got banned for botting 99 cooking. Must've been right around then when I thought it was the cool thing to do
The downfall was updates thats ruined the game with the huge bot population
I always love Nello’s videos always very interesting 😁
Thank you! :D
i miss 2011 runescape idungpro was an amazing script
Jagex: makes serious changes to the game
also Jagex: We'Re NoT sUrE wHy We LoSt MeMbErS
oh yeah for sure wasnt the runescape 3 being way to different! was surely the bots! yeah yeah the bots! lul
@@MsTatakai Until EoC, it really wasn't that different.
@@CottidaeSEA before EoC they did big changes to the game... HD graphcis was pretty bad and that time the computers wasnt that great to handle that great HD =P my computer could run so wasnt a big of a deal for me but then... the 3 digit hit? why? HP changed to constituition? why? trade = no more unless you do more quests? that trade limitation was good for bots but really bad for newcomers ... trying to help a friend? oh nope you can't XD
Very interesting video buddy! Would love to see a load more like these :D Big thumbs up :D
Thank you!
i didnt run a bot program but i did afk combat-method on the al kharid guards, i think i got all my combat stats 99 doing that while playing WoW or some other game
Thank opening with Gene and Keanu from WG though...thanks for the laughs lol
Ahhh yes. Back when you could bot rsbuddy for a week straight training dungeoneering
I was so happy when I found out that there is such a bot and how complicated things it was able to do. I really wanted a chaotic rapier but hated dungeoneering and couldn't bother to farm it myself. This is what started my love for botting, I just really enjoyed watching my character being played for me, I felt like it's 2050 when seeing all the possibilities.
I bottes 99fishing dropping everything. I tipa lost money since feathers dissappeared and didn't bank fish. It didn't benefit me the slightest. I just never ever fished in rs again lol. But i play legit now and got a maxed zerker and over 1800 total
When old school 1st started you could get banned really playing the game without boting at all
Jacmob was successful for jagex bot detection system because he buildt the bots that jagex couldnt beat. Literally he programmed the bots and then got a job for jagex to catch his own bots.
I think this will end up happening again because we simply don't have enough players
I've quit playing on a main or pvp and only play Ironman now
is it just me or does it seem like alot of bots are gone ?
"60% of the playerbase are bots"
So like today in OSRS then.
Outro song is dope!
Your outro is the best hehe 😍 I need that song
they ddnt ban but they would rollback levels and remove gold and other stuff for botting in like 2012 era
Here was an idea that could of saved a lot of people from quitting when they thought of eoc they should of made it a new game option and left rs2 alone
Last time I was this early, OSBuddy was a botting client.
Lol I definitely missed something can you explain or link a video
@@Jamie.0187 Colonello mentions it very briefly in this video at 4:50. OSBuddy used to be RSBuddy which was a RuneScape botting client pre-EOC (not sure if it was around after EOC).
Edit: The website for OSBuddy is still RSBuddy.com as well. View it in the Wayback Machine and you can see snapshots of the site all the way back to 2011, when it was still a botting client.
Rsbuddy was the best RuneScape client of all time
Yeah when I botted a little I used rsbuddy which is now osbuddy
Shit on me as much as you like of course, but I've literally used a primitive static delay macro recorder to get to 99 in thieving, cooking, fletching (so far). I've never heard a peep from Jagex who I thought would surely notice such an archaic method.
Static delay macro recorder? The heck is that? Id just tape a low speed drill to my trackpad
0:12 Kind of a tangent, but I disagree. The whole idea of devalued accomplishments has always rubbed me the wrong way. What value is there to your accomplishments? You're not allowed to sell your account, and there's no other way to really trade these accomplishments, so it's only valuable if people admire the work.
Runescape classic was bottable in the last few years due to no mod input etc. was sad. 99% of player turned to bots
Real players remember ibot and scripts like AutoHunter/AutoFighterPro and run that shit for days without being banned. Script times of 15+ days straight if there’s no updates.
Lol they thought osrs was gonna be dead in 6 months...
they werent the only ones
In 2012 I botted to 80M woodcutting exp, then they reset me to 77M. lolllll
I remember this day as a botter:/
im sure the current player base is still only 40%.
Its ironic because they are at just about the same place now, they want to keep a happy medium.
Why hasn’t jagex done another box nuke?
Solid video, please do one for osrs bots 🙏
Oooh.
That’s why I got 113 dungeoneering. Makes sense now
idungeon pro was something beautiful though
It truly is the year of the rat
We need bot nuke in OSRS.
A slow crackdown. Let the economy smoothly transition rather than all of these random resources getting massive inflation.
@@zachb1706 No, I have like 500 oak logs saved in the bank for just such occasion. Instant bot nuke so I can finally afford a bond.
This explains my perfect track record. Allegedly.
I'm going to need you to take 20% off the top there, squirrelly dan
Remember the days of £3 per month membership 😍
My near maxed skiller account just got unbanned on rs3 after 6 years. Botted for a mere 2 hours on black salamanders and got permed. Now that I have it back, gonna see if someone will buy it for couple hundred bucks
Lol so it can get banned again? Trolllll lmao
Idk how others feel but I have an intense hatred for botters. If you bot I hope you lose your account
Great vid, definitely subscribing.
I will always have a place in my mind about runescape, the fun I had with my friends and brothers. But like everyone, we grow up, we change and we have less time.
I will always log in and play Runescape while it exists and have been a member since December 2006 without stopping payments, but to me, the game isn't fun. That's not fault of Runescape or the MMO genre, it's me. I've changed.
Would like to see video on OSRS bots
NGL, i preferred the bots... people claimed they ruined the game but have you saw the game now? you want anything, you either mark up the price 5-10% or wait days... back when, you wanted something... it was instant buy at general price, made everything easier to get, needed 30k logs for fletching? no problem....want the same today? best overpay or you ain't getting crap
But getting that money in the first place is a lot easier than just 5-10% now that they're gone
