Yep by far the best training tool! I’ve been using it for about 6 months now. Replaced majority of my traditional dryfire but I still aim for weekly to bi-weekly live fire sessions. FYI you can use the in game timer during the free ranges. Just look down and press A or B (I can’t remember which. One starts it and then B I know lets you cycle through to see splits)
I got one of these a month or so ago and love it. Just wish I had more room inside to move around and run some of the stages
Yeah. Space is definitely a plus. One thing I’ve done is go in my backyard in the afternoon, when the sun is setting but before it’s dark.
@@AlexanderSotelo I’ve considered that. Just need the temp to get under 100 and I’ll be ok.

Some of the download links no longer work
Thanks. I’ll see if I can find new links and update.
Nice vid, I agree with every single point. It's definitely a game changer to add to the training toolbox for serious shooters. I like the emphasis that it doesn't replace dry fire (nothing will or should). Bonus points on the links
Thanks. Yeah. People should continue to dry fire but if you're a person that hates it, it's better than not training at all away from the live range.
Nice video. What would a complete setup cost??
You can check out the cost for the Ace VR handset and the app here:
www.acexr.com/membership
You’ll also need a Meta Oculus 2 or 3. The 3 is the latest and greatest but the 2 works great and is much cheaper. I use the 2.
Can you please do a video on assembling the 3d prtinted parts and installing the FCU? Who would I need to pay off to make a shadow 2 Compact version?!
I can do the video. Your best bet to find a S2 Compact is on the Facebook Group.
Thanks for the review. I've been curious about this set and I thought the down sides would be the weight and consistency of the dot with your natural point of aim on your actual gun. But I would be this trains that vision, especially that dot lift which gets really hard to practice in dryfire.
I was actually quite surprised by how well they simulate the dots movement. The movement in recoil is influenced by movement in the muzzle/gun from trigger press or grip issues just like with a real gun in live fire.
The index with the Shadow 2 handset and my real Shadow 2 is identical. As long as you use a handset that is modeled after the gun you shoot, index is not an issues.
I would ask around at your local matches to see if anyone has one that you can try before you buy. That said, I’m really enjoying it.
anyone got the .stl for the module that holds the controller
Check the description of the video.
Are you able to save the personalized "gun angle in hand" setting? The old VR Practical Shooting didn't allow me to save how the gun pointed so I needed to spend 2 minutes readjusting that every time I played. I need the virtual gun to match the muscle memory I have developed.
I think I understand what you're asking... basically, your index is different with the ACE stock handset than with the real firearm you shoot. You want to grip the ACE stock handset the same way and then adjust where the dot/sights display on screen. Almost like zeroing the VR gun.
Unfortunately, this isn't a feature. This is exactly why I switched to the custom 3D printed Shadow 2 handset. My index is different with the ACE stock handset because the angle, shape, etc. of the grip is different. The only solution to this is to get a customer handset made that is the model as your gun. If you do that, the index is identical. The index with my real Shadow 2 is identical to the Shadow 2 ACE handset.
In the description of the video I link several files to 3D print about 6 different model guns... the most popular pistols in our sport. Check that out. Hopefully you're shooting one of them.
@@AlexanderSotelo That is super helpful. Thank you so much. Can't wait to try this out.
Where to get all the 3d handset files? Just found the cz Shadow so far ✌️
I just added them to the description.
Great video and I completely agree with what you said. Never can replace dry fire/live fire but it’s definitely another great training option to have. Especially because there is some fun factor. Do you think you could point me in the right direction to get a glock handset 3d printed? Willing to pay for their time materials and shipping.
The easiest way to get a custom Glock handset is on the Ace VR Training Group on Facebook. There is a guy by the name of Steven Chang that is printed them for folks for a fee. Link to the group and Steven’s profile below:

Sorry I’m so late. Thanks brother, I got one ordered and on the way from him. When drawing from holster do you still need to push a button to draw the gun in game?
@jjoseph6166
No. The holster in game is not really used for anything.
Can you play pistol whip with the controller??
I don’t believe you can.
Maybe, not sure how much adjustment pistol whip gives to rotate the point of aim
Hallo, mate. Very nice video. It really helps me. The trigger part is also can be printed? or I must have a original handset? Thanks.
The trigger shoe itself can be printed but you need to buy the original handset to get the Fire Control Unit. That part is patented from what I understand and cannot be replicated.
@@AlexanderSotelo That's a bad news. My country don't allow import anything with a gun shape. That's why I am looking for a 3d paint headset. Anyways, Thanks a lot.
@yangshi9510
You should contact the Ace team. Maybe they will ship you just the trigger assembly without the handset. That part doesn’t look like a gun.
@@AlexanderSotelo I will try. Thanks a lot.
Where did you get the Shadow 2 grip module?
3D printed. I linked the files in the description.
I want this grip
Did you use a service to get the grip printed?
A friend printed it for me. The files are listed in the video description. If you don’t know anyone that can print one, you can check with this guy. He’s on the Ace Facebook group. He’s printed them for many in the group.
