Hi Houston Laws. Thank you so much for watching the video and leaving a comment, always appreciated! So glad this video helped you out. Best wishes on the completion of your project 👍
Hi! That is a great question. I happen to have this exact model under my home. I have had it installed for 3 years now.... absolutely no complaints! I am beyond impressed with this unit and the ability to keep my basement / crawlspace void of moisture. It stays constant and when it kicks on it is so quiet that you cannot hear it unless you are under the home. I would buy from this company over and over. In fact, I have installed about 8 of these in the last two years. I hope this information helps 👍
Do you know what the difference is between the HD55 and the HD55s? I know the black one has a built in pump. The blue is the cheapest. But in not sure what white and gold versions difference is?
Hi. Good question...the HD55 is good for up to 1200 square feet and pulls out up to 113 PPD (Pints Per Day). The HD55s is good for up to 1,300 square feet and pulls out up to 220 PPD. I hope that this information helps 👍.
@@YouCanDoIt2 yea I saw that difference. Didnt seem worth the extra money for such little change in performance. There has to be other features. I read somewhere the gold one may get wifi capabilities in the future???
@@javaldes7 It might. I believe that currently the only ones that are Wi-Fi compatible are the commercial dehumidifiers from Alorair. They can be monitored remotely for whomever installed them for that commercial job. Since these are from the home crawl space line of dehumidifiers, they are monitored with a remote which is an optional purchase. We installed a remote in a whole closet for our personal dehumidifier. It makes it very convenient to be able to monitor it without having to go under our home. I hope this information helps 👍
Thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment / question. Yes! This unit will automatically come on to the desired humidity percentage that you set. As soon as the level of humidity increases above that level, the unit kicks on. Hope that helps!
Great question! In theory it is possible, but it really depends on how long your extension cord needs to run in order to get to the nearest power source. The extension cord and outlet that you are plugging it in to also needs to be rated for the proper amperage of the dehumidifier. Another thing to consider is current electrical codes in your state. They might not allow for extension cord use as a permanent power supply for a device under the home. I hope this helped you out a bit. Thank you for watching.👍
@@YouCanDoIt2 yeah I figured a heavy duty quality extension cord no longer than 10 feet would suffice, the one I'm getting only pulls 4.1 amps at the startup so I really don't think it will strain it or anything. Looking at the sentenial hd55 gold because its only 700 bucks and seems very well made

@@UnitedStates. Hi! These units are incredible and super low maintenance. I have personally had one for over 5 years. It functions exactly as it should. Humidity is very low in my crawl space… it stays exactly where I set the unit humidity percentage…and I have had absolutely no problems with the unit. I would recommend Alorair units to anyone!👍
Hi Cathy. Thank you for watching the video. The manufacturer does not recommend using an extension cord as there can be a drop in voltage and the dehumidifier will not perform the way it was designed to perform. These should be connected to direct power and that's why in some cases you need to I stall a receptacle into your crawl space to plug this into. Hope this information helps 👍

Great question! It really depends on what your original humidity reads when you first install the dehumidifier and whether or not you have a good vapor barrier. For our personal home, we installed this brand dehumidifier and noticed a difference / decrease in humidity the very next day. We have a vapor barrier installed and sealed vents. You also need to size the unit properly based on the square footage of your crawl space...not house. Hope this helps 👍.
I learned more about the AlorAir HD55 from you than I did from the manufacturer and its distributors. Great job. Great videos. Thanks so much!

Beautiful work on that platform! Great video, too.
Thanks for explaining the drain fall. No one mention it in other videos

If I use an extension cord will I run any risks? I have no outlet and can't afford to wire an outlet under my crawlspace
