I registered for the firefly lottery at Elkmont I live in Knoxville and have promised myself I’d see this before I die , I didn’t get chosen this time but Loved this information and the little bit I got to see of them; so I projected it on my 65 inch Tv and it was the next best thing to bring there ! 8th grade science fair project was on Fireflies. Then, having learned to recognize them, was amazed to see some "green lights" high in the sky (not fireflies)!

Seeing a lightning bug marks the start of summer. Always mark the calendar when you first spot the fireflies. June 6, 2021 Indiana

One has to convince the insects native to the smokies that they are not above you on the food chain, you are not food or in their habitat for battle. A family friend was caught smoking a cigarette outside his vehicle while him and his wife stopped to watch the intricate dance of the glowing creatures. Both got bit all over for bring the the tobacco industry with them
