Sorry, mates...but the laugh track you have added completely ruins your programming for me. I used to LOVE watching and, now, my love affair with you has been diminished. 😔
huh? in that manner it's the same way the show's always been. you're seeing 29 minutes cut down from like 3.5 hours, it's edited up the wazoo. so for the sake of an even sounding flow across shots, the sound has to be somewhat modified. It's not just that they're manufacturing laughter out of whole cloth that was withheld by the audience on the day.
@@cptblood oh shit no, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get your hopes up with the wrong idea. What I meant was, generally with a UK comedy panel show, like the entirety of them being there on the studio floor is a good 3 hours, but that's including everything. like any of the down time between turns where maybe lights or makeup needs to be reset. So there is no "3 hour version" that exists for broadcast. Traditionally with WILTY (as far as I know) every panelist gets at least one go, in fact I think each one gets two, and that's aside from the "this is my round". And then depending on the results of each of those turns, that's how an individual episode gets shaped. like I've seen lots of people always react from a really good portion in the "unseen clips" episode at the end of each series go "how could THAT not have made it into the original cut??" But it's not about quality, not necessarily. It's just as much if not more about timing. They may have one episode with an especially great single round by a panelist that they don't want to cut down too much, so it could make another equally funny but shorter turn have to get cut to make the 30 minute limit for that episode, but that's what the "unseen clips" episode is for. There's lots of other factors for why a particular panelist's go doesn't make it into the "proper" episode that's nothing to do with how funny it was. if it helps, think of it this way -- QI has their "XL" episodes that are like 42ish minutes long (whereas the original broadcast ones are like 30). WILTY kinda does the same thing, they just save all of those extra good bits from each single episode and put them into one big compilation at the end of each series.
@@kevinw712 interesting! Thank you for replying! I did expect some editing, but not from like 3 hours :). And it does make sense that everyone gets a go and we are just seeing best bits.
The so called "good teeth" credit stems from the British having awful teeth from inbreeding. Not particularly good dental care by Americans but less inbreeding/crooked abominations in comparison.
Jason Manford is such an underappreciated guest, he's so reliable
Totally agreed! He can take jokes very well and always laughs along which I can respect
@@rensbrand5176 He's a professional comedian. Of course he can take jokes well. It's the biggest requisite after being funny.
This show never gets old - used to watch it whilst in the uk - now in Oz so grateful for UA-cam uploads.
Jason got shredded like no one else, but he was a good sport.
It's such a pleasure to see and hear Harry speaks like Burns! And Rob's clinton voice was absolutely spot on!!
“Marinating the snake”, I haven’t laughed so hard in years 🤣🤣
Great episode when the guests are actively joining in the banters.
Yes, I noticed that too! It was great!
Brydon and Shearer riffing back and forth, awesome.
Harry Shearer is a voice I want to hear regularly
Thanks for posting!
Great episode😊
that was a great one.
The Claire round was very well played. #tipofthehat
I'm surprised Rob didn't have the effortless retort to David asking him "Are you hoping to become the face of those products?"
"...Depends."
Excellent!

Most dairy nowadays is made in factory farms because pasture and grazing is an inefficient use of land
My mom used to say” the cows were in the clover” when the milk had a peculiar flavour
I think that's how homeopathy is supposed to work?
Well, there's a crack that cracked me up! 22:12

@@kevinw712 wait…this show is 3.5 hours and this isn’t the full show? Fml!!! Where do I find full shows?

Bryden's Bill Clinton is impressive
Harry Shearer could have at least brushed his teeth once before going on British TV. He just cancelled all the "good teeth" credit Americans have.
It is rare Brit teeth are all much better than the American's. But as a voice actor, I imagine image isn't his priority.
@@karinapfel650 I agree about his image not being a priority but, surely, even a ditch digger wouldn't want to have walnut colored teeth !!

He’s over 80 now so maybe he just doesn’t care.
