- Things get weird in Thailand as Rich and Ewa Travel to the White Temple in Northern Thailand Chiang Rai. The White Temple of Chiang Rai is a perfect stop off for the Honda CT 125 and Yamaha PG1 that is taking us on this epic Motorcycle adventure around Thailand, but inside the White temple is not all what it seems. We wonder into the Art Cave... But its all a Chiang Rai Lie... Is it really even a cave?!

My hand hurts. I keep clicking and clicking...............is there a new video???????? Guys, you really are addictive. Glad to see 20.4 K subscribers! You deserve all of them!!
Thanks so much! See you in the next one then 👍👍
My hand didn't hurt, but I was kinda sleep deprived when I first found this channel.. Just binging everything... only to find out they were in the Netherlands 2 months earlier (before I found the channel).. But yeah it's great content.. I also keep coming back for more..
Thanks so much, we really appreciate your comments and support
This was the white temple I mentioned to you. We were there in 2013. It’s an amazing place, the detail is stunning. Glad you’re enjoying Thailand. It’s my favourite country.
A great recommendation 👍 Very glad we stopped by here
That was awesome again!
I wish I could still be riding a motorbike but it does me good to see you have so much fun 🤗
Can we ask why you don’t ride anymore? Whatever the reason we are glad we can share the experience with you
@ontheroadadventure because of health issues and age 😊 .
Has been years now but still miss the feeling of freedom.
Used to ride Suzuki gsx 1100 in the eighties and nineties when women on bikes especially the big ones was rare.
@@sandrader2889 Sorry to hear that.. (the part of not being able to ride anymore) I hope I still have a few years in me. But for me this is also my substitute drug, for when life gets in the way of actual riding.. (I work 70 hour weeks.. And I do commute on my motorcycle.. but that does kinda defeat the feeling of freedom. Even though I have to say I rather do an Amsterdam commute on a motorcycle than in a cage, at least on a motorcycle you can keep moving, mostly... unless there's 2 Teslas next to each other)
I still don't know of that many women riding big bikes in my circle anyway.. I've got a female friend who has a Busa... and one that rides a Blackbird... And then I'm kinda done.. (yeah Ewa, but she's not actually in my circle although I do start to feel like I know her) A lot of women ride 600's though.. But a modern 600 is about as fast as my 1992 Fireblade.. So... maybe..
Ewa Defo Counts as your Friend Circle... Ride safe
Sorry to hear that, Glad you got the experience of riding big bikes though, they are life long memories youll never forget
That Temple is on my bucket list again! Love how perfect they make things like that!
Really happy to see a chicken stir-fry in there after your medical adventures!! Liking the bikes.
Love you, bye.
Not a bad day! The temple was stunning, well worth the stop 👍
This is my favourite Channel
Thanks so much John, glad your with us 👍
I much prefer the tyres on the yam . The wheels should be swapped around . You can see the quality of the Honda but at a price. Love your streams and your love of bikes .These two little bikes have proved just how much fun you can have on small bikes . Keep them coming both your great fun to watch . Stay safe 👍👍👍Love from Ireland ❤
Thanks so much, it’s amazing how all bikes have this way of giving joy and happiness and the ability to create memories and adventure
Every Time you see the fruit stands along the road as you travel northward, be sure to stop by and get some. You will enjoy the pineapples here in the north. They're a bit small but really crunchy and sweet. And I do enjoy watching you two on these two bikes riding along 4-digits hwy in Thailand. Keep posting the video, it's really enjoyable. Have a great trip and enjoy your journey.
Thanks Todd! The small roads are the best, especially on these small bikes
Another great watch what a beautiful white temple that was thx for taking me there stay safe ❤
Thanks for joining us bud
Again, another great presentation and I to are always checking in to see if the next one has been uploaded. I would like to also say that those of us that ride a motorcycle tend to ask all the pertinent questions related to what I am about to ride. But unfortunately, those that have never tend not to ask those questions when they get on a motorcycle they have hired from the country that they are visiting.
Great to have you with us! Much appreciated
The White Temple looks fantastic. I've got to go there and wow, the drone footage is brilliant. Well done, folks and Nellie😂😅
It really is worth the visit, and explore the other features around it like the cave of art and other bits there
“Nellie” 🤣🤣🤣 really made me giggle but you will be in trouble for disrespecting their gods! Such a great place with the white temple! Class episode 👍👍👍
It’s ok the God’s love laughter 🤭
Glad you found 1211, back way into Chiang Rai. If you are up near Mae Sai, check out 1249 along the border. You can take it to Mae Salong, great ride.
Thanks bill 👍
What lovely Temples!!! Really looks fantastic in white 👍🏼
And the glass makes it shine in the sun, looks amazing
Loving the new bikes very funky, great content as ever the temple was stunning 😊
Thanks so much, the little bikes do it all but we can’t wait for getting our own bikes back!
nelly 😁 nice one! Its Ganesh the elephant god. Great trip .
Sometimes I just can’t resist the dad jokes
Liking the new bikes so good to try lots of different bikes and scooters, wow that temple was amazing and a good end to the day with egg and chips
Not a bad day in Thailand! Yes we love all motorcycles and are always up to try a different one but you know how it is… We miss our own!
Great episode guys. 👍 the egg and chips looked banging.
The simple things on a trip are what keeps the smiles on faces! We have learnt when the going is good with the food… eat twice!
I knew you would like it. even though it was very touristy
And Ewa looked very naughty when she rang that bell . 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks, great recommendation to stop there
Trumps white house isn’t a patch on the beautiful White Temples, garden, & cave you visited guys, & the 24 carrot Gold temple & fishes simply stunning 🤩 loving the two mini adventure bikes, glad you found English food 🥘 not so good about the hard beds!🛌,fantastic journey going North guys, enjoy, sleep well 😴 😊
Thanks Andy, those fish were huge! Explained the amount of fish food the machine gave!
Love this! Great 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Another fascinating ride, those temples really are something else! You certainly chose well with that last resort, you must have been absolutely thrilled, especially with the egg, chips etc. Maybe worth trying to sleep on your front if the beds are so hard?
Yeah we lucked out at the resort, the restaurant was amazing, so good we went again in the morning for lunch before we left!
Haha. 😂 loving you guys more than the bikes.😅
Awesome! We want to have a laugh and adventure no matter what bikes we have access too
excellent series! Great you can do everything on a 125 cc as that's what my CBT limits me to!
You can do anything you want on them just choose the right roads, go slow and you’ll always see more
Love the new intro!
Thanks 🙏
Apart from your Chanel there is one i like also and i wonder if you ever saw this series made by a Dutch Girls one solo tour in the Middle east. Stunning rides terughoudend Turkey. Name of the Channel is ITCHY BOOTS. A must see!
From Holland my best wishes for the time in Thailand.
We love to watch noraly too! She’s brace doing those countries alone. We wish she shared more of the reality of travelling though rather than just the highlights of her days.
After Chiangrai we went North to Langia Lodge Oasis. Not sure it’s there anymore but it was magical. One of those community lodges nestled in the hills overlooking the Mekong River near Laos
We are going north next too 👍
@@ontheroadadventure nice!!!
Rich & Ewa that temple looks amazing can not wait to retire out there
What a place to come too to wind down and relax, you will love it
Enjoying the channel. As someone who has lived in Thailand for a long time it makes me remember the language issues I used to have. Am on my way to Chiang Rai and will be visiting the White Temple and some others but unfortunately on four, not two wheels. When booking I search using words like soft comfortable mattress as like many I hate the plank mattresses. Costs more but worth it just for my backs sake. Keep up the good content, I will keep an eye out for you. Did you look at the Honda ADV 150 which may have been more to your liking?
Yes good advice on the mattresses, we find it’s a bit pot luck. The white temple is well worth a visit you’ll enjoy that for sure
Egg and chips, wow Rich you must have been in heaven. have to say, Eva's dish looked splendid. They do build some amazing temples though, don't they.
They must be building temples the whole time here, literally one in every village! Each one of them beautiful
17:36 Awesome place
Cheers 👍
Remember, the snakes are more frightened of you, I'm surprised there are so many HArley's there. loved the video, stay safe. Many thanks.
Yeah the Harley’s seem like a strange choice here but some people just need to have one.
There are 1000s of harleys in thailand and very nice ones as well.
As time went by we saw lots of Harleys here, often we saw the big bikes out on Saturdays
Are you still in Chiang Rai?
Go see the 1022 Coffee House, near the White temple, biker coffee house.
I will be there tmrw
Sadly we missed that one this time
Great little bikes, there is an import one on Autotrader priced at just over 5k with 390 miles.
Yes they go for good money in the uk, I guess we all want what we can’t have!
My Daughter managed to hire a scooter on her travels in Thailand and she hadn’t even got a UK driving licence!! ( she had never even been pillion on one of my bikes). Scary but she survived and I only knew about it when she got back) 😎
It’s crazy irresponsible really, the roads are madness here! Glad she got through it without incident 👍
If you struggle with the Thai mattress buy a small cheap air bed you can take with you and just lay it on top 👍🏽👽it worked for me
We were considering this actually 👍
"What's his name?" "Nellie" 😅😅😅 Rich, you are in deep do-do 😅😅
Too easy 😂
Rich has " la gout culinaire" of a 5 year old kid from Burnley, this can be quite tedious when travelling with a brit. I had a pal like that so to enlighten him i took him for lunch at a top class Pattaya seafood restaurant which backed onto the sea, exotic marine life was literally delivered from the back of the boat to the kitchen door. He browsed the menu for a while with a puzzled frown , he ordered fish&chips !!!
But I bet he was happy with what he got 😂😂
I have spent a lot of time in Thailand but not seen many snakes. But my last visit to Thailand was in October this year. One night when I was going out from my house up on the road I had to stop for a big fat phyton. Beautiful snake but I kept some distance. After a minute or so the snake turned around back into the woods. To bad I cannot post a photo here.
They must be here in huge numbers we see them almost daily in villages and small roads
@ Yes but most of them are not poisoning
Our problem here is we know nothing about snakes... Best for us to assume all are dangerous and stay away
Egg and chips, whatever next, some lovely places you took us to today, the more I see the more I like the place ,apart from snakes 🐍
Thailand is an amazing country for sure, lots to see and do and interaction with the locals is always such a nice experience. We recommend coming at least once
Just tried test riding the latest GSA and multi v4s and now realise I would happier on a trail scooter lol
You’ll be allot better off financially too 😂
Would the Honda CT125 be able to keep up with traffic in the UK?
A and B roads absolutely yes, you’ll run out of puff about 60mph so I wouldn’t want to be on the motorway with it
Im thinking of buying one and make it 150-160 cc. Then change the gearing so can cruise 65 mph all day. Small cc bikes are really fun
Sounds like a excellent plan to me
(16:22) you do know, what ringing that bell is for right? Ringing the bells at the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) in Chiang Rai, Thailand, is a way for visitors to purify their minds and souls. The sound of the bells is believed to help ward off bad spirits and bring good luck. It's a common practice for visitors to ring the bells before entering the temple as a sign of respect and to cleanse themselves of negative energies.
We are now pure once again then ☺️
Ewa's dinner was the other half of that snake.
Ride safe 👍
She would eat the snake too I reckon! 😂
You're right. The single digit road number is the main highway from Bangkok connecting to the North, Northeast, East and the South. Even the short-cut toll gate motorway about 300 km from Bangkok to Pattaya City is No.7. Two digit number signifies major highways connecting provinces. Three digits connecting districts. But some 3 digits have 6-8 lanes while 2 digits may have only 4 lanes, depending where they are located and how dense is the traffic. Of course 4 digits roads are rural roads, usually 2 lanes, but some that pass through dense populations have 4 lanes. BTW, the name of the drug is methamphetamine which is produced in huge quantity along the border of Myanmar and Thailand, a plague to the country where millions are addicts and the govt spends large sum of money to suppress the illicit trade and hospitalization.
Ah yes, Meth is a problem in our country the uk too, probably all over the world. Very sad for those addicted to it, so much more to life than that sad existence
Ritch & Ewa my friens are in Thailand they Both have big bikes 1 got BMW 1000 RR the other Has a Ducati
We have seen a couple Ducati here, we must admit we would love to have our big twins here if it were possible
Love your videos but the weather forecast is not good for you. Ride safe take care my best wishes to you from the Philippines ❤️💪👍😉😄😁🏁🏍️🛺🐑🇵🇭🏴⭐
Oh really? We haven’t seen anything to be worried about yet?
There are also a Blue and Red Temple in Chang Rai
So many temples here you have to cherry pick the ones to see
@@ontheroadadventurethat is true. But the white temple is the best 👌
We agree! That temple was amazing
I once hired a beach buggy on the island of Brac in Croatia, crossing the island at night time the road was covered with snakes keeping warm on the tarmac, I would stop at every snake and watch my girlfriend scream lol 😁😎
Oh mate that is evil…. And very entertaining 😂
I'm beginning to think Rich is falling for the Harley's 😂
I love a Harley and to ride them… I just wouldn’t own another one! My last one was a liability lol
@@ontheroadadventure To be fair Rich, most vehicles can be a liability these days with all the modern tech
Yes we agree, we are beginning to think simple is best, the reality is we don’t use half the functions our own Africa twins have
Bloody oath when you coming down guys plenty of food down here Rich bloody expensive thought probably the same as UK. Great Ocean road in Victoria awesome.
Yeah we hear it’s not a cheap place to be, but we do want to come one day for sure
So true, usually the best bike is the one you are riding right now... (Exceptions do confirm the rule here)
Yes, in ten years you’ll remember the people and the trip but perhaps not the bike you were on at the time
(5:56) rich, listen to your wife. "you're going the wrong way"
Always!
That time when you went to Chaing Rai, there are Big meeting of Asian Harley was occuring in Chaing Rai. So you would saw the Harley more than normal situation there.
Ohh I see, we did think it was a strange bike to be so popular here in Thailand, shame we didn’t know about the event or we would have gone
Hey Guys how goods the white temple you should see the guys bike who created it he built it himself we ran into him when we were there in 22 wow chopper cruiser type thing. If you're in Chang rai keep an eye out for the blue temple not bad either.
The creator is a biker! How cool!
I've been to Australia a good number of times and never had bother with snakes or spiders it how the country is except it and the way the people dress or just leave
We fancy going to Oz, a fascinating country for sure!
See... personal responsibility isn't so bad is it..... 😁
The Darwin effect in operation here in Thailand
Opium plants
Opium is a huge thing here apparently
@@ontheroadadventure Not any more. Meth is easy to make and earns much more profit than opium, no need to grow the plant. You cannot find opium fields along the border any more. Go to Afghanistan for that.
I cant say id be tempted to try that!
Rich & Ewa can not believe no helmet on as a pillion and shorts wow seem nice people just wish wear gear 😂
Yeah to us it’s shocking and not very clever but each person makes their own choices in life
The bells, the bells, why did they destroy the bells? 🔔
ua-cam.com/users/shortsuTdVtJxr7MI?si=hdf7vvwuyDdRvJ-l
I can’t get the link to work 🤷♂️
@ontheroadadventure just tried it, and it works fine for me. Perhaps you are not meant to be enlightened.
Search the healing of bells, or why did they remove the bells on YT, and you'll get the just of the video.
Your recent enjoyable video at the temple is a prime example of the resonance of bells. Some cultures have not forgotten other cultures destroyed them thus removing their healing effect on the population.
We are able to check it out now we are home, i think it must have been a day for bad signal!
@ontheroadadventure appreciate you revisiting the link.
That reminds me, did you require any jabs to travel to Thailand?
It's not necessary to ride a large ungainly motorcycle to achieve good karma? Tip go to a camping shop and buy two inflatable mattress for camping, mine takes no more room than a small tin of beer when collapsed.
We were saying how much we miss our motocamping kit, the advantage with camping is you know what your getting each night and once you have good kit you can be as comfortable as any hotel room and cook your own meal. We do allot of moto camping and will be back to it soon 👍
@@ontheroadadventure well if you know the difference an air mattress make? Go and buy two as there is nothing worse than a bad nights sleep!
We did think about it but its just more stuff to carry with us. All part of the Experience and easy to laugh at when your home later! Makes you appreciate your own bed!
You guys are going to shit yourselves if you ever get to Australia 🐍🕷️🪼🦈🐊😂😂
😂😂😂😂 don't scare them off only if your in the bush or in the ocean. Cicadas have been bloody noisy this year. 😃
I think Oz would be proper entertaining 😂
And yet we are daft enough to still want to go!
Thailand leaves Aus for dead for getting bit by something mosquitos in Thailand (where we stay) are horrendous usually go back to Aus with at least 20 bites it's a shame worst aspect of being there I reckon.
P.s unless you stay in Bangkok.
We didnt have too much trouble with Mozzies, i imagine the Time of year you go really makes a difference
