This is hilarious as somebody that's been participating in the 4B movement unknowingly since I was a pre-teen. At this point in my life I've respectfully lost count of the number of times ive been asked out/hit on/flirted with, and the reason I never said yes to anyone was precisely BECAUSE I valued my time and company enough to be extremely picky. Currently in an extremely healthy 4 year relationship with the first person I ever said yes to, engaged, and have mostly everything working out for me. I still turn down people on the regular, only difference is now I get to use the "I'm taken" excuse :)

My friend, being a stand-up lady, did everything. She worked two jobs with long hours, came home and cooked his meals and did all the chores, the whole package. Well, her man started to recover, not enough to go back to work, but he was hobbling around the house well enough. She comes home one day, and he's been busy. He did all the dishes, vacuumed the whole house and cooked dinner. Did she say "thanks honey, that's great!" She did not. She had a full on meltdown because he was doing her womanly duties. Like, girl, you stupid? You just worked 14 hours and you want to come home and work another 5 or 6 doing housework? But that's how she was raised- the only work women can do that counts is in their own home.

This is hilarious as somebody that's been participating in the 4B movement unknowingly since I was a pre-teen. At this point in my life I've respectfully lost count of the number of times ive been asked out/hit on/flirted with, and the reason I never said yes to anyone was precisely BECAUSE I valued my time and company enough to be extremely picky. Currently in an extremely healthy 4 year relationship with the first person I ever said yes to, engaged, and have mostly everything working out for me. I still turn down people on the regular, only difference is now I get to use the "I'm taken" excuse :)

But even when I was considered "ugly", I still found so many teen boys dusty. Now I'm in college and they show interest now and I just can't find it in me to settle, especially since I'm actively working on me. I wanna know what world this girl lives in. Women don't just decide to go solo on a whim. We have been abused by men for the majority of our lives. Sometimes first by our fathers then with romantic partners. We've stayed in these relationships for years, begging for change and balance to no avail. Then when we finally leave and discover how peaceful our lives are without a partner, we get abused for that too. This movement has been a long time coming. Now that it's time for accountability, they don't know what to do with themselves.

I would say I’m conventionally attractive and I’ll argue sometimes that can get treated worse by men at times, either from their insecurities or predators.but even then, I have no idea what attractiveness has to deal with a movement not wanting to interact with the other sex. It would matter if we were like “I’m so pretty, why don’t they like me!” There definitely are groups like that, but they certainly aren’t women in them.

Wouldn't even take abuse. About twenty years ago I had a friend whose partner got into a wreck at his trucking job. He hurt his back bad and couldn't drive for about six months. My friend, being a stand-up lady, did everything. She worked two jobs with long hours, came home and cooked his meals and did all the chores, the whole package. Well, her man started to recover, not enough to go back to work, but he was hobbling around the house well enough. She comes home one day, and he's been busy. He did all the dishes, vacuumed the whole house and cooked dinner. Did she say "thanks honey, that's great!" She did not. She had a full on meltdown because he was doing her womanly duties. Like, girl, you stupid? You just worked 14 hours and you want to come home and work another 5 or 6 doing housework? But that's how she was raised- the only work women can do that counts is in their own home.
