I can't believe Picard just tosses the weapon away for someone else to find on a planet that doesn't permit weaponry lol Not his most responsible move.
Better than getting caught with it.
Probably won't function after long in the flowerbed though, but surely it contains a power source that will still be harmful.
@@dutchglobetrotter4513 I think it could easily have been concealed if the planet had a zero-tolerance policy. If not, Picard is a Starfleet Captain with a solid reputation; I think he would be permitted to turn it in to their planet's gov't or remove it from the planet on his own.
ya that's what i thought at first then reminded me of The Godfather where Michael drops the gun at the scene.
@@ShovelShovel It reminds me of Hunter Biden's wife dumping a loaded handgun in a public trashcan across the street from a high school lol
Is no one going to comment on Sovak wearing the most 90s shirt I've ever seen?
No. To reach Maximum 90s there would have to be something with Steve Urkel on it.
He's a Kid n Play fan.
Vash was a great character, loved her & Picard together.
Hey Captain. Remember what your friend Magneto said.
"Never trust a beautiful woman. Especially one that is interested in you."
Yes, but he was talking to a random security guard, not to the hottest 60-year-old on the planet.
@@EmpiricalPragmatist is Picard 60 here?
@@DRKLCNS1 After looking it up, Patrick Stewart is actually only 50 here. Still doing amazing for his age though.
@@EmpiricalPragmatist yeah but how old is Picard? presumably 50 or near it in the series
@@DRKLCNS1 After consulting Memory Alpha, turns out Picard is exactly 60 here. Born in 2305, and Season 2 takes place mostly in 2365. :)
Picard: “Sovak... you look thirsty. Maybe you’d like some... PUNCH!”
😁👊
Given the shirt, it was a Hawaiian Punch.
If Ferengi are that weak, Picard could have punched with his left hand.
Or by smacking him with the shovels they start using later on...
Sovak is the ruthless and slightly-less-incompetent Ferengi that Rom could only dream of being.
I laughed way too hard when knocked the Ferengi out 😂😂😂
Someone should tell Picard that's not a very diplomatic way to deal with the future Grand Nagus.
Well said.
Was that Max Grodenchik as Sovak? Sovak certainly has a bit of an evil Rom vibe to him. Oh man, I need to go back and watch the full episode to fill in those gaps in memory.
Yep. 😁 It is Rom alright. In fact Max Grodenchik also played a third Ferengi (Par Lenor) in the TNG episode "The Perfect Mate".
Quark even played two other Ferengi. He was one of the original Ferengi with energy whips (Letek) in "The Last Outpost", and DaiMon Bractor in "Peak Performance".
Star trek sure seemed to like recycling actors.
@jacksonheathen2092 when you find an actor of the right size who is willing to put up with the ferengi makeup, you use them as often as possible
I just noticed that Sovak's weapon bears an extremely close resemblance to (SPOILER ALERT) the Varon-T disruptor that Kiva Fajo wielded in "The Most Toys." In that episode, Fajo claimed only five Varon-Ts were ever manufactured, and that he owned four of them. I guess we all now know what happened to the fifth one, hmm? That's right, it's now in the capable hands of the resort's groundskeeper after he found it in a bush.
Hey, speaking of finding bush: aren't Picard and Vash just the most adorbz couple you've ever seen? (heart emoji) TEE-HEE!
Good point.
So, it would have No "Stun" mode and Let Picard to punch.
You must be a kind of logical person of Mr. Data (or Mr. Sherlock=Data Holmes).
Edit: correct my bad English.
😂😂😂
ironic that this episode was posted STO has a Risa event going currently.
Leave Alanis out of this.
Dang Rom.. having a bad day bud?
2:50 _"Didn't anyone ever tell you weapons aren't allowed on Risa?"_ - Well, what does it matter if there is no security stopping him and no one found it on him in the first place? 🤷♂️
Vash: _The notes on the disc are in code._
Disc: _Hetay ocationlay of hetay tifacthar is losecay to the avecay..._
As we can see, Picard is just as willing to knock an alien out as Kirk is, the difference is just that Picard has the professional decency to keep that out of his work life.
Wow, I just realized, his crew put way too much effort into coaxing him into taking a vacation. They should just have called it a peacekeeping away mission . 😄
He knew she was trouble when she walked in
Nice right hand by Picard.
I always did think Vash and Picard blended well together
Sovac was right. Vash was a greedy and unscrupulous woman. And way too much damn trouble for my liking.
Name checks out
sexy af tho
I would go on a treasure hunt with her in a heartbeat. I always wanted to dig Vash out when I was young 😊
Isn't that a Varon T disruptor that Sovak is holding? I'm pretty sure that we see it again a few episodes later in "The Most Toys" when Fajo shows his to Data and vaporizes one of his own people with it. Illegal in the Federation, for obvious reasons.
Is that a Veron-T disruptor he just threw in the bushes? Someone might roll over it during Jamaharon!
"We've got a long trip." Not sure why they can't just transport close to the caves. Also that backpack looks weird.
She wanted some of that Jean-Luc Picard summer sausage!!!
"Subterranean caves," Vash? As opposed to those caves that are found ABOVE ground?
Not gay, but Patrick Stewart looks great with that speedo!
You're definitely gay
He does seem to be strutting it in this scene.
I was going to say that I wish I dont see Patrick Stewart in a speedo again.
Did anyone else find seeing Picard lamp a (particularly annoying) Ferengi in the nose *extremely satisfying*?
(00:29) Data (as Mr. Sherlock Holmes) :
The green circuit is a fake.
The information is embedded in that plastic case.
those ferengi have iron jaws... so just punch them directly in the face.
I, personally, would not mind handling her... trouble.
Sadly a Risian teen found the weapon in the bushes and vaporized 112 tourist…….
Good point. I always thought it was kind of reckless just to toss it there.
@@jacksonheathen2092 also he went into the clothing optional part of the resort, then went really berserk….😂
If it hadn't been that weapon, it would have been something else.
In a higher pitched voice Solvak could be a voice actor for Cobra Commander. No disrespect to Chris Latta
Please screenshot 1:19 and make that your profile pic.
Rom TNG
0:35 .. ugh. Too much Picard skin.
Is that Rom?
Yes indeed. Played by Max Grodenchik
i dont like this... the whole episode was out of character for picard... i remember watching this and going... who wrote this... the days of our lives writers
Not everyone does everything “in character”.
