@@smartylila I am a novice in the knowledge of Ancient Egypt / Kemet but what I have learnt so far is that to a certain degree kemet was a reference to all of Africa lower and upper part. So as long you came from Africa you descended to one degree or other to Ancient kemet.

Black Horse, I agree with you that many traditions have the same idea as Nun. They simply call it a different name. I don't know of any sources that are going to speak specifically about Nun. One of my favorites is R.A. Schwaller de Lubicz and Sacred Science. I have heard the earlier Nile valley culture alluded to often but not much on the spiritual aspects of that culture.

It seems to me that the idea of Nun, being unable to experience itself, may be more of an later idea grafted on the Egyptian religion by more platonic ideas. Actually the Greek Gnostics were students of the ancient Egyptians. Christianity through it's connection with the Gnostics took many ancient Egyptian ideas into Christianity from the Gnostics. Check Herodotus "Histories II," for a primary source on the Greek and Egyptian connection. Also Plutarch and Diodorus of Sicily. All Hellenistic scholars that connect Greece ( western civilization) and Egypt.
Beyond The Physical Me Good look. I am aware that even in neoplatonism you have a big influence from African and Nile Valley culture. When you consider Alexandria was in Africa and that Africa was Greece's main go-to for knowledge it's obvious they depended on a lot of the theological genius of Africans. Yes love was viewed differently by the ancient Africans. Love today is defined by the actions and different ways we express it as physical beings. Ancient Africans were more concerned with the principles that produces the phenomenon. They had a totally different paradigm of thought that empowered them. I teach that paradigm in my courses.

Brother, they practiced many that you a familiar with in Christianity. As Christians, we ended prayers with "AMEN". it is a Christian ritual that is founded with the name of the Egyptian Neter Amen. The Christification (Oiling)of a mummy in their burial rituals is mentioned in the bible (Mark 14:8) when Christ says "She has done what she could; she has anointed My body beforehand for the burial." The resurrection was founded in ancient Egyptian burial customs. Everything you know as Christianity originated with the information in the above video. You are telling me not to "worship" this knowledge when in reality you need to move beyond blind faith and investigate what I have stated here. This is a good way of looking at Kemeticism, but I disagree with the fact that you said they were all monotheistic and none were polytheistic, because in different periods and city states, the deities were viewed in different ways. There is not a core belief for all of Kemet. Though, this was a nice video and I learned a few things, I even learned some things of my own belief. (I'm Eclectic (Pagan) btw)

The knowledge of Kemet that evolved into ancient Egypt had a belief that all of creation emanated from sound or as we say today vibration. It is in error to think they believed in a deity as the Greeks and later Christians believed. Ra said I am the eternal...I am the Word...I created the Word. Since the creator is not human and does not speak, "the Word" becomes a metaphor. In order to produce a word vocal cords must vibrate. Vibration is the source of all creation. All is vibration. Not a human-like deity.

But I've always loved ancient Egypt my whole life, and I've always had an almost spiritual connection with it, idk.
Yes on Neters being analogies and metaphors of nature. Understanding that symbolism will lessen the confusion. Too many people try to dissect the beliefs and analyze individual aspects. But, everything in the system fits like a puzzle. It does not contradict. The Greeks said the "Egyptians" were very conservative in their beliefs. They were resistant to changes. The Greek pantheon is their changes to the Kemetic/Egyptian system.

Black Horse, I agree with you that many traditions have the same idea as Nun. They simply call it a different name. I don't know of any sources that are going to speak specifically about Nun. One of my favorites is R.A. Schwaller de Lubicz and Sacred Science. I have heard the earlier Nile valley culture alluded to often but not much on the spiritual aspects of that culture.

It seems to me that the idea of Nun, being unable to experience itself, may be more of an later idea grafted on the Egyptian religion by more platonic ideas. I'd love to be able to relate it concretely to Egypt though.

Actually the Greek Gnostics were students of the ancient Egyptians. Christianity through it's connection with the Gnostics took many ancient Egyptian ideas into Christianity from the Gnostics. Check Herodotus "Histories II," for a primary source on the Greek and Egyptian connection. Also Plutarch and Diodorus of Sicily. All Hellenistic scholars that connect Greece ( western civilization) and Egypt.

Good look. I am aware that even in neoplatonism you have a big influence from African and Nile Valley culture. When you consider Alexandria was in Africa and that Africa was Greece's main go-to for knowledge it's obvious they depended on a lot of the theological genius of Africans. Yes love was viewed differently by the ancient Africans. Love today is defined by the actions and different ways we express it as physical beings. Ancient Africans were more concerned with the principles that produces the phenomenon. They had a totally different paradigm of thought that empowered them. I teach that paradigm in my courses.

Brother, they practiced many that you a familiar with in Christianity. As Christians, we ended prayers with "AMEN". it is a Christian ritual that is founded with the name of the Egyptian Neter Amen. The Christification (Oiling)of a mummy in their burial rituals is mentioned in the bible (Mark 14:8) when Christ says "She has done what she could; she has anointed My body beforehand for the burial." The resurrection was founded in ancient Egyptian burial customs. Everything you know as Christianity originated with the information in the above video. This is a good way of looking at Kemeticism, but I disagree with the fact that you said they were all monotheistic and none were polytheistic, because in different periods and city states, the deities were viewed in different ways. There is not a core belief for all of Kemet. Though, this was a nice video and I learned a few things, I even learned some things of my own belief. (I'm Eclectic (Pagan) btw)

The knowledge of Kemet that evolved into ancient Egypt had a belief that all of creation emanated from sound or as we say today vibration. It is in error to think they believed in a deity as the Greeks and later Christians believed. Ra said I am the eternal...I am the Word...I created the Word. Since the creator is not human and does not speak, "the Word" becomes a metaphor. In order to produce a word vocal cords must vibrate. Vibration is the source of all creation. All is vibration. Not a human-like deity.
Ah I see. Yeah, I actually agree with the way they saw the netjer, as like symbols of nature. I'm currently studying Ancient Egypt and I am obsessed, although it is confusing sometimes. But I've always loved ancient Egypt my whole life, and I've always had an almost spiritual connection with it, idk.
Yes on Neters being analogies and metaphors of nature. Understanding that symbolism will lessen the confusion. Too many people try to dissect the beliefs and analyze individual aspects. But, everything in the system fits like a puzzle. It does not contradict. The Greeks said the "Egyptians" were very conservative in their beliefs. They were resistant to changes. The Greek pantheon is their changes to the Kemetic/Egyptian system.
True. I do like other myths and pantheons from other ancient cultures, but kemet/egypt is definitely the most interesting.
