[88][4k] Honoring Our Law Enforcement: The Epic Chase of CSX
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 вер 2024
- CSX engine #3194, specially painted to reflect the "Spirit of the Law Enforcement", spent some time in Spring hauling intermodal trains Q197 and Q198 on the "Georgia Road" between Savannah, GA and Fairburn, GA, the latter being the location of CSX's intermodal hub near Atlanta. The video shows the memorable 75-mile chase of #3194 leading Q197-07 from Robinson, GA to Lithonia, GA on June 8th, 2021. Other vantage points on this trip, which took 4 hours in real time, include Union Point, Buckhead, Madison, Rutledge, Social Circle, Covington, and Conyers. Enjoy numerous spectacular shots of this special engine and the 15,000 train monster, which in addition to #3194 had only one mid-train DPU.
Out of all of the CSX "Heritage" (sticker) units, I have to say 3194 is by far my favorite. The bright blues and white really goes well together, and for once it's a locomotive that doesn't look like it just took a trip through a sand storm!
same
I like #911, too. The great look of #3194 certainly had to do with that it just had come out of storage. CSX hides there special units most of the time for some reason...
@@mbmars01 oh, I saw this loco in person too
@@mbmars01 pride in storage
I think there's an unwritten rule out of Waycross these 3 units can only be so dirty.
Epic chase + epic locomotive + epic friendly crew = EPIC VIDEO !!!!! Thanks for all the hard work you put into these videos.
Thanks very much. Cool you like the video. It was a memorable, "epic" day, for sure.
That is my favorite engine of all time
Cool.
Excellent video as always.I really enjoyed the shots of different angles n the scenery too.
Awesome, great you like it! The scenery is really nice. Although I don't live too far away I wasn't actually aware of how nice some areas are.
Great catch and @15,000ft it's a beast of a train!
This was certainly one of the longest trains I've ever seen.
Great video! The shot of 3194 crossing the Alcovy trestle bridge was absolutely spectacular!
Thanks! I know, this is an awesome spot. I would like to shoot there again from a different angle.
You took some amazing shots during your chase. Looks like compition out there. I enjoyed watchintg. Excellent video as always.
The weather was problematic and, at times, light as well, but I'm quite happy with how this video turned out. Great you enjoyed it.
Fantastic, what a great video!! Love all the heritage units.Great horn on this unit.A 15, 000 ft train is a monster, would hate to have to find a broken knuckle on this one!!
Good you like the video! 15,000 feet is just insane...
Awesome video! Actually chased it from Augusta to just west of Grovetown and got caught in a rainstorm during the chase too.
Great you got him, too. Yea, the weather was somewhat unpredictable on that day.
Nice job engineer good filming and spots nice to see the Engineer have a little fun with ya on the horns stay blessed patriot and thank you for your excellent work
This was a fun chase, for sure. And yes, the crew seemed to enjoy the publicity. Thanks very much!
Amazing video & beautiful pictures thanks for sharing -Austin.
Thanks very much!
Thank you for sharing
You're welcome!
Great video as always. I enjoyed the train length being included!
Thanks! Well, long trains are somewhat difficult to film if one wants to chase a train. Thankfully, it worked several times. I always want to record the full train, at least once.
Even if CSX didn't exactly over-exert themselves with their "heritage" units, I'm glad to see they made more of an effort with this one
Yea, this, #911, and #1776 are CSX's "special theme" locomotives.
love your videos, greetings from suffolk uk, lovely skies that day. i am an avid ns fan and ho modeller. i love how green georgia is, i did fly into atlanta several years ago, on a tour of the south. very enjoyable, as is all your vidios sir. take care!!
Excellent! It's true, this part of Georgia is like a jungle in summer. I really like watching trains in this scenery. The green background makes for great shots. Take care, too, and come back visit the South once it is possible again!
@@mbmars01 hope to one day. cheers!
GREAT VIDEO . one of the best you have ever made .
Well, I'm happy you enjoyed watching it :)
Thanks MB for a great way to start my day after a long long 24 hr shift . Another amazing job MB, great chase on a beautiful CSX engine, you have out done yourself once again. I really liked the curve shots and the long looking shots down the train in Covington . Love the dedication once again to hang out in the rain just to get the shot you want. I wish CSX would do more of these themed engines. I drove over to Spenser NC just to see the Firefighter and Military versions, definitely worth the trip over. Keep up the great work MB, looking forward to the next one as always.
You're welcome! The shot at the depot in Social Circle was somewhat tricky as a I stood on a pillar of the highway bridge crossing over the track, with very little space for movements. The rain didn't help lol.
Sounds like you had a very happy engineer!
Yep, horn-happy :)
Great catch man love the unit as well I like the #911 a bit more just because of its bright red and white but #3194 is also a great Heritage unit
I like both 911 and 3194, but 1776 is not among my favorite specialty units.
I appreciate this video. I go to Rutledge often to video and chase. The trestle scene is one of my favorite locations as it is extremely photogenic. I’m saving this one, as I am retired law enforcement. Thank you for this quality video!
That's awesome. It's really a beautiful locomotive.You're welcome!
Great video! This train is worth chasing. Thumb up!
Cool, thank you!
The Conyers depot has an interesting history.
Awesome catches of 3194
Thanks!
If I remember correctly in your country, between the Prime Mover & DPU Is the Extra modal( international shippers ), and after the DPU is the Intermodal like J B Hunt etc ( domestic ), thanks for the video.😎👌👍😷
It's not always like this, but in some case they certainly add two (or more) intermodal blocks in the way you describe it.
It's interesting that two locomotives were enough for this long stack train. Especially in hilly Georgia. 3194 is breathtakingly beautiful and I really like her horn. The crew gave you a nice horn show numerous times. The little depot in Social Circle is pretty cute, just like the old station in Conyers. This is an excellent video, one of your best. Thank you for the entertainment. :)
I was also surprised this long train had only two engines. However, this part of central Georgia is actually rather flat on most sections of the line. I also think this video came out particularly well. Good you enjoyed it :)
Great video as always different sub great angles and a massive train. Love the scenery as well mb
Good you like it. This line is indeed surprisingly scenic. Some parts of it I saw for the first time.
Amazing Video
Good you like it :)
mbmars01, is still # 1 by far. Beautiful work !
Thanks very much! I really appreciate you like the videos here!
Cool catch of the law enforcement unit and it sounded like a rs3k horn
Thanks!
It’s actually an RS5T
Yeah well it’s something in that category of the rs horns
Awesome.....just awesome
Cool, great you like it!
great video
Thanks!
DPU Alright!!!!
I was surprised they ran this long train with just two engines..
I said the same thing, love those DPU"s.
😎👌👍😷
Wow spectacular footage and chase! Definitely had some horn happy crews on there to say the least haha. I actually just uploaded my chase of 3194 here in NC and was about 75 miles too. Funny how that works!
Very cool! Glad you got her, too. She's a pretty baby. Looks like 75-mile chases become the standard nowadays lol
You weren’t but a few crossings down from me on that Dixie Highway shot, probably passed me on your way to that shot.
Probably so. There were so many people out there...
great video and chase that engineer was friendly
Thanks. He obviously had great fun running this train.
I love the thumbnail with the Depot in Conyers fun fact that Depot is visible in the television series in the Heat of the Night
Ah, really? I didn't know that it's famous. But it looks pretty, indeed.
@@mbmars01 it is but bear in mind it only shows up and the television series not the 1960s film
Well, I have no clue lol
Epic, yes! Great job. How do two locomotives pull. 15,000 feet of double stacks?
Thanks! Yeah, this is a good question. I guess it wouldn't work on most other lines. The terrain in middle Georgia is rather flat, at least in most parts.
because those container are empty. 😜
Each locomotive is about 13,000 lbs themselves. Add another 13,000 and you’ve got almost 26,000 HP!
SWEET!
Thanks!
Very nice great video
Thanks!

*143,200 Total YT competitive railfanning awarded*
Dang, that's a lot of highlights indeed. Thanks for the careful review! Had I known that extra points are awarded for filming another railfan, I could have earned tons more points on that day lol
@@mbmars01 I find it funny how many railfans don't like it when other railfans video record them lol. These are the same type of railfans who complain when they encounter a less than friendly train crew who don't want to be on camera lol.
Yea, but I can understand it to some extent.
Hope you can catch that Military Grey Camo Loco somewhere.
I did. It was once trailing behind 911. The video has the label [6m].
Long live the RS5T!!!
That is an impressive sight. Is that special locomotive part of the normal fleet so it can be seen by anyone lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time?
In principle, yes. Unfortunately, CSX tends to hide these engines in Waycross for some reason and only unleashes them for special occasions or if they need a workout (like in this case). One wishes they would use them like NS uses their special units on every-day trains.
The first crew of 197 was definitely horn happy😆
Lol, they were quite happy I guess.
Me gusta mucho tus vídeos
Very cool! Great you enjoy watching the videos here.
I’m thinking about going railfanning there sometime. Where do you advise railfanning, when are the best times to go, and what is the radio scanner frequency for this line?
Well, there's only very few trains on this line. Unless you live in the area or know what's coming, it will be difficult to catch a train at all. To my knowledge, there are only two daily intermodals and an occasional grain train plus a few locals.
Oh sorry I meant the Abbeville Sub.
As a conductor, this is ridiculous for a train to be that long!! Especially if you got to walk it, smh!!
P.S Love your video, lol!!
I totally understand it. To walk a train that is almost 3 miles long is quite an exercise! Great you like the video!
I mean, will it kill them to add a little blue and red stroke to the front of 3194???
question is the georgia sub really busy or its not
No, it's not. A few local trains, an occasional random grain train and an intermodal pair that doesn't even run there daily anymore... Unless you know exactly what to look for and where, it's unlikely you'll catch anything.
How many cars?
I didn't count. Remember that articulated well cars are counted as one car, so counts of intermodal cars don't say much about the length of a train.
Great video, made it even better because my god father was running the train
Ah cool... This explains a few things I noticed lol :)
ACAB ;)
Come on lol
First!
Epic? I dont see it. Looks like just another video to me.
