[8W][4k] Running High & Low, Norfolk Southern Trains on the Piedmont Subdivision, GA 05/25/2023

- Welcome back to the Georgia section of the Greenville District on the Norfolk Southern Piedmont Subdivision. Interpret the video title as you wish; it will be all in the video :) Trains can run at high and low speeds, but also low at street level or high above the ground across a trestle. It's all in there. The trestle is in Toccoa, GA (Wells Viaduct) and local trains do street-run through Commerce, GA on the Lula-to-Center branch line. Plenty of rail action is guaranteed int his video, as always. Besides the local trains, there are the manifests and intermodals, or a mix of both. Don't miss the 5-minute long sequence of NS 153 with six engines screaming atop Toccoa Trestle, a sight and sound one doesn't often get. Enjoy the video and have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Nice! 👍Thumbs up! 😊😊
Thanks so much!
28:20 is one of the coolest clips ever in my opinion. Engineer giving you a heads up and then the fast and friendly local with a P5, Love it man.
Yeah, this was neat. Great you like it.
Never realize how much you need train content in 4k till it’s gone glad you’re back bud
Haha, that's a good one. Happy New Year!
Love this video mbmars you're still the man
That's cool you like it. Lol :)
Good one!! 😃😃👍👍
Thanks! Good you like it :)
The GOAT is back!
Lol
Nice catches! Really love that shot in Alto, GA. Everything went right with that one! Optimal track speed, a nice-sounding horn, a friendly wave from the engineer, and a decent-sized freight! I might have to check that spot out in the future.
I agree, but light could have been better...
Welcome back!!
Thanks :)
Great to see you back. Excellent as always. Keep them coming. Happy New Year.
Thanks, Happy New Year to you, too!
Great video and welcome back!

Vielen herzlichen Dank! Ich hoffe, es geht Dir und Deiner Familie gut und du kannst schoene Feiertage verleben. Ich wuensche Dir ein gesundes und hoffentlich froehliches Neues Jahr!
Always great when you post a video. Hope there won't be such a long gap in between this one and the next.
Thanks. Yeah, I hope so, too, but producing a decent-quality video is extremely time-consuming and impossible to do at times.
Awesome video, interesting locations.Happy to see you shooting videos again. Happy New Year!! Looking forward to more videos.I received a new camcorder for Christmas and I'm sure going to put it to use railfanning!
Happy New Year! Great you got a new cam. I hope you'll put it to good use :)
Nice to see you back on UA-cam. I really liked your video of the NS Piedmont, I was really impressed with that massive trestle with that manifest on it, looking forward to your next video.
It was nice that it was a long NS 153 that went over the bridge. The engine sound was awesome. The cam did a good job catching the audio.
Great video bro 😁👍
Thanks, Boris! Happy New Year.
Nice!
Thanks!
I really like the locations here. I think we haven't seen yet the Toccoa trestle in your previous videos. I'm a big fan of trestles and this one is very neat. It's awesome when the long train goes over it and the engines' sound echoes everywhere. The variety is great, we see a lot of foreign locomotives. Fantastic upload, thanks so much for the entertainment. I'd like to wish you and your whole family a very happy and prosperous new year.
I also like the distant engine rumble when trains cross valleys like this one. I also wish you and your family a joyful and healthy New Year!
Great video. Happy New Year!
Thanks. Happy New Year!
Excellent video as always.
Thanks again!

I wonder if some of the power units on the locals are ones that take up residence at the Amtrak station in Gainesville.
*Nice Catches*

Always looking good. Thx.
You're welcome!
I hope you back Man missed the videos you make on the CSX and Norfolk Southern
I know... Missed it, too, but life and work sometimes keep one quite busy lol
Absolutely great as always. Really enjoy your work. Look forward to seeing the next one
Cool. I'm happy you like the videos here!
I am so glad you're back!! I was having serious withdrawals, such that I watched several of your old videos from 7 years ago!
Ah, the soothing sound of steel-on-steel and the good ol' fashioned clickety-clack. I'm a happy guy!
Toccoa, and especially Toccoa trestle, are just so picturesque and downright spectacular. Beautiful scenery. I've always said that your videos are more like works of art.
Here's hoping you have a tremendous 2024! Happy New Year!
Great you still enjoy the videos here! This was a great day out there with some truly interesting shots that I also like very much.
Nice shots brotha! Glad to see you back!
Great you like it!
I realize it states 05-25-23, but I am glad you are back. Hope all is well with you. Have missed your videos. I love the long trains.
Yes, thanks, I'm fine. It has been a busy time the last couple months.
It's so great to see that you're doing well. This video was definitely worth the wait with the great and interesting catches that you made! Have a happy New Years!
Good you enjoyed the video! Have a great New Year, too!!
Excellent video, and glad to see you back. Happy New Year.
Cool, thanks! Happy New Year!
Incredible!
Good you like it!
@@mbmars01, you’re welcome.
338,600 total YT competitive railfanning points awarded
Nice, how much was the trestle shot ;-)
@@mbmars01 6,000 bonus points lol
I hoped for more lol. My arms still ache from keeping the cam leveled for more than 5 minutes... Happy New Year!
@mbmars01 That was 6,000 bonus points added to the base points of the train lol. Since this was a long video with a very high point score, I wasn't going to list every individual train capture point value in the comments lol.
You received 3,000 bonus points for an "over-the-bridge shot" and an additional 3,000 for "stealth long-distance recon railfanning" lol.
For the total point value of that train, the horsepower rating of each locomotive equals the point value + the generic manifest point value of 3,000.
1,000 additional points for graffiti lol.
Add 3,000 per any fallen flag rolling stock captures lol.
Add 3,000 for any horn salutes and crew waves.
"PRS length" bonus which includes additional points of the DPU (in horsepower) lol.
Remember none of this is really serious and YT competitive railfanning "foamer points" is a running joke lol.
Haha, I am aware of the fun part of it lol. Yet it looks like you're consistent with your point assignments, which is amazing after all those years :)
Bnsf conductor here bro u should make a vid on the Birmingham subdivision we have plenty of action there especially when u get to amory Mississippi and Tupelo ms
Good to see you guys again (HNY)2024 and this time I'll be careful what I post don't wanna embarrassed myself again 😁👍
HNY! I don't remember that post lol
@@mbmars01 back to when I said I was about to unsubscribe since I've haven't seen your videos in a while when you said it take time and patience
Ah, right! I hope the new video was worth the wait :)
@@mbmars01 you and the crew still got the midas touch after all these years 😁😎👍
It's only me... (which is why things take so long at times). Thanks so much, I really appreciate it.
Bonitos arbustos
Kayak di Daop 2 Bandung, bang😀👍🏻
It’s been a while!
Well, yeah, time flies for whatever reason... :(
Oh okay.
I've seen rider 22 film in that location Cornelia
Cool.
My brother in Christ, how did you find a spot to film the Well's Viaduct? 😭
Well, there's that spot in the neighborhood south of the bridge. Thanks for reminding me of the name of the viaduct. I had totally forgotten it.
Great video, which editing software do u use?
HI Jacob, I use Final Cut Pro X on a Mac to edit these videos.
@@mbmars01 awesome thanks!
Excellent video
Come sometime to Serbia 🇷🇸
in the east, to film EMD G26HW-2 locomotives hauling copper ore
Thanks. Yeah, that would be cool to watch.
What happened to your old intro of trains
I changed the intro several times in the past.
What your next video going to be
Not decided yet...
Guess what I got, I got 10 subs, 110 views and 15 likes
That's great! Keep it up.
Thank
Do you make money on these videos and if so, how much? I live right along tracks, I could get videos like this without even leaving my house.
The revenue covers some of the expenses for this hobby, which is nice, but that's about it.
*Promosm* 💔
Hey mbmars01, I did not want to rush you but if you don’t make a another video. Oh man they will unsubscribe to you if you keep waiting so long to make another video, not rushing you just telling you.
He films and uploads as health allows. May want to ease up.
