Oh god yes. Running From Evil is such an underrated song, and it really carries that whole "Somebody's gon' die tonight" vibe to it, as if it's doomguy starting his quest to avenge Daisy and all of Earth as well.
Yup, that was my gripe. Not that all guitar covers are bad, I really enjoy Evil Horde's version for instance! Or anyone who can actually play the damn solo, because that's just impressive :]
As far as modern doom remixes go, here's a new idea: not everything needs to be metal! The original soundtrack was way more diverse than you probably remember (with all the ambient and slow tracks).
It was! It could be sad, it could be creepy, triumphant, angry, or even chilled out and relaxed at times. It could convey stealth, immense size, a sense of wonder or desolation. The soundtracks for Doom 1 and 2 were amazing!
The way the melody just fits together is simply glorious! Certainly one of the best remakes for one of my favorite Doom songs yet. Absolutely well done
Subscribed! Finally a remix of Running From Evil I've run across other than elguitartom to use a keyboard or in this case, an ORGAN for the main instrument! Now shut up and let me hum! :D
Haha great to see another one getting uploaded. Even if it doesn't change much i still prefer your version! Happy aniversary guys, and don't forget to check kvee's other (actual) remixes as they are superb!
its 5th of December and im sitting here listening to kvee's remixes of doom wondering if any anniversary track is going to be uploaded. Counting on you my friend!
I gotta be honest with you, i _do have a rough idea for a map02 remix, but no plans to finish it anytime soon. I can send you a preview though, if you'd like.
Sure would love to hear it. If it is in a state that you can actually present it to someone perhaps you could upload it on 10th anyway? Even if it's just a preview ;)
I haven't said it before (and I forgot to do it) but it also reminds me of Goblins a bit (the group that played some tunes in Argento's movies and Dawn of the Dead).
@@kveemusic Yeah! This remix would definitely fit in a Castlevania game, I love both Doom and Castlevania and some kind of "mashup" really gave me goosebumps
Check out this new version featuring the very talented Shai Baruch on guitar! ua-cam.com/video/-QZfQ-EMllc/v-deo.html

Well... it kind of is, of course.
Very much is.
D_RUNNIN: organ, low-level guitar, sick drums
every cover ever: guitar, guitar, guitar, excessive drums
Yup, that was my gripe. Not that all guitar covers are bad, I really enjoy Evil Horde's version for instance! Or anyone who can actually play the damn solo, because that's just impressive :]
Dont forget the bass
Exactly. Even Andrew Hulshult's covers are way too much guitar driven.
@CallOfEuropeanSpirit yeah he ruined into sandy with excessive guitar, he didn't even keep the harpsichord in the intro

the original soundtrack was almost entirely sampled from heavy metal songs. hahaha
@@twofacedvic940 You doof, he speaks of doom 2
@@waffleiron3695 Doom 1 and 2 were both heavily sampled from Heavy metal songs.

@@twofacedvic940 yes, but they didn't only have metal music
I'm very glad to hear the use of an organ for the main melody of the song.
Im getting tired of all of these "all electric guitar" remixes.
Hands down, one of the best covers of this song, if not *the* best.
Thanks :]
If you were to ask me "Are you glad you subscribed to Kvee?" I would answer with "Yes," but also "Who are you and what are you doing in my house?"
+CheatsEnabled Well I gotta get my feedback somehow!
Exactly
Probably my favorite Running from evil remix, ever. I love how you didnt change the rock organs to electric guitars. Great job!
This is the best remix I've heard of Running from Evil. Thanks for making it
+Neko9000 Glad you like it!
+TomGrus mind if I put it up on Soundcloud? I'll credit you.
+Neko9000 Please don't. I actually have my own soundcloud account and I've decided to only upload my 100% original stuff there.
Sorry.
+TomGrus could you give a link
+Neko9000 Sure!

Absolutely well done
+sonic007m Thanks!
This sounds.. Iconic! It really does, it has such a unique sound to it and I love it. Great job!
that organ makes me ascend holy cannoli
very detailed. nice
it's always cool when the drum set's bass drum part is included

Really nice cover. At first I thought this was too slick and sanitized, but the more I listened...Thumbs Up.

+MrMoroes I'm actually playing some Doom 2 cooperative online to celebrate :]
the changes are mainly different samples

Sent you a mail (hope you've got the same address). I won't do a public preview though.
My favorite non-guitar cover of this theme.
this is one of the best remixes of this track I ever did listen to with my own two ears
Thanks!
Check out the new version too :]

the remakes are already here! and they arrived.
this remix give me the same emotion that the original midi wants to give me, but higher!
years later and I finally found this majestic song
Glad you're here. Maybe you'd like the new version with an actual guitar solo? :]

*BIG F*CKING AWESOME REMIX!!!!!!!!!!!!! PRAISE THIS REMIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
I haven't said it before (and I forgot to do it) but it also reminds me of Goblins a bit (the group that played some tunes in Argento's movies and Dawn of the Dead).
This is so beautiful! Best remix hands down together with the one from nemistade. Slow start but amazing end.
Thanks :]
Have you heard the new version as well?
That's how I imagined the music when I was younger
Thanks, I'm glad to hear that!
this is amazing
Also thanks for putting organs (a great instrument on the same level as the electric guitar)
No problem!
I love playing the chords live, it's so much fun. If I ever get my hands on an actual organ, this will be my go-to song :]
Sorry for late reply but I am looking forward to hear that!
despite not having the guitar like in the newer version, this still goes hard
Castlevania vibes, love it
Really? Thanks :]
I mean I love Castlevania soundtracks too!

This is godl... Doomlike
This>>>>>>>>>>>>whole new Doom OST.
Sounds kinda like the xbox live arcade version with the main melody.
Overall really good!
This best version even better than the original
Brilliant
Ah yes.
The mapper's national anthem.
So true! :D

i know im a bit late, but can we get a midi file of it to put in the actual game?
Well, a MIDI would sound really close to the original, the entire added
value is in all the instruments and processing MIDI can't really
contain.
TomGrus Thanks for the response.
No problem. Don't forget you can use the actual mp3 file with modern source ports!
