Chauvet 4Bar Solution For Master / Slave Operation With 1 Footswitch Flex LED Lights
Thank you. Been struggling with this for a while now. Can't thank you enough.
Thank you very much. Saved a lot of frustration. Thank again, brother!
Thank you. I now understand this
Glad it helped!
Holy cow, Hayseed Dixie as the intro! I actually have that album on mp3 and i listen to it constantly. Great stuff!!!
Gotta love Hayseed Dixie my man!
Do you know of anywhere we can get a new controller cord, our's got cut and Chauvet doesn't list it and can't find a 4 pin cable. This is how we would like to set these lights up like and this video is very helpful, Thanks
Not sure if you can still comment on this… my 4bar cant seem to switch from 3-ch to 15ch. Im stuck with 3-ch and been trying yo get the lights to work on my obey 40 controller. Does this thing have a reset. Pls help.
Ok the trick is turn on together same circuit. Works again thanks .
Thank you!
Once again a groovy solution. Thanks...
This was extremely helpful, thank you so much for this!
Thank you.
I have 2- 4 bar lights. It doesn’t give me an option for D. My options are sound and auto. And I can’t figure out how to change it from A
Who did the cover of kiss at the start? Sounds awesome!
Could totally use some help trying to connect my two 4Bars together!
Thank you soooo much Groovy. I have 4 Chauvet connected and working awesome, but I have another one that can't seem to get it to work. It's just flickering. Even after I unplugged the mic cord. Any tips? Thanks in advance
Try powering them all on at the same time via a power strip. That usually cures it.
Is that Hayseed Dixie performing 'Rock n Roll All Night' at the beginning of your video?
Doesn’t change colors via sounds? Like our drummer would trigger changes? Or is it all manual foot stomping
It should changes via sound when set to do the sound option on the back. You'll also have to change the sensitivity of the microphone that is in the back as well.
Scott, have you tried it with Chauvet 4PLAY CL and the 4Bar? Thank you for the video and Info.
Can you trigger the Chauvet with midi? Thanks in advance! Really enjoy all your videos, long time watcher here!
Thank you so much for the simple steps solution!
Worked for my friends 4-Bar, when I tried it on mine, I realized I must have an older version; no power out on these bars, there is no 3-CHL or 15-CHL setting. Master had to be set to SND, and slave to "A 1". After sitting connected for a few seconds, it switched to "D 1". Still didn't work until I turned them off and turned it back on again and they finally synced up.
Nice, I like the 4bar flex as it has places to add lights on top. the setup shown plus a couple derbys, a laser, and something else(centerpiece) would be great! I've got a 4Play CL and have thought about adding a 4bar flex, along with a small laser like MinLaser RBX, and possibly one other center light. To this I'd add my pair of Mini Kinta derby lights and some uplighting. Should make for a decent show.... thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks for the videos. keep shining bro...
Jorge the footswitches are not the best on these units, i have 2 4bar flexes one of the footswitch died on me but im lucky the other still works, so you might probably have an issue with the footswitch, your best bet would be to just master slave off the master unit instead of using the footswitch, maybe hooking it up to a dimmer light switch or a basic dmx board might fix your problem or just hit up chauvet for a replacement footswitch
HELP! I have the 4bar flex, two actually. One is set on stage, other is 30 feet in front used as front lighting. That's scenario, I can't get the 3 footswitch to work at all which I use as the master for both. Here is how I set up. Working with the front lights, nothing is plugged in at all, I then plug the power source in, it flickers, then I plug the footcontroller in. It flashes once, I hit preset and nothing happens. The menu is set to d.1. It has worked in past and normally after the mast is set, I plug in the dmx which goes to second unit on stage. However this time, the footswitch is not working. I have 2 footswitches so I tried the other and same thing. Called Chauvet and they claim its both switches which I find hard to believe. Unit is less than a year old. Am I missing something??
Is there a way to have two lights operate as mirror images of each other?
Maybe spin one unit around and rotate/flip the lights to face backwards. Or if you don't care if the mount is on top or bottom, just flip one of them completely over and compensate for the height
My Gawd !!! Thank you so much !
Great Video...Thanks
Very handy video!
I own two of the following units: Chauvet DJ 4BAR USB LED Wash/Effect Projection Lighting Effect.....The have wireless foot switches
How do I synchronize the two separate units to be controlled with one wireless foot switch?
Quite frequently I will step on a pedal to control a function, i.e. blackout, and only one of the unit will blackout while the other one stays illuminated. And when I step on the the same foot switch, the other one will turn off and the first one turns back on.
Can one be set as "Master" and the other be set as "Slave" and function wirelessly?
Help please!!!
Terry Wood have you solved this yet? Was thinking to use the IR foot pedal to control the closest bar as a master, then DMX cable to 2nd unit as slave
Thank you...very very helpful !
My pleasure. I know a TON of people use these and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM have this problem. Just happy to have a solution for you.
I have these two systems - will they work together as well?
DragonX 4 Bar LED mobile DJ Stage Lighting Packages/LED Wash Stage Light System
CHAUVET MINI-4BAR LED DJ Stage Wash Light System
thank you so much!
always learn from ya , thnaks
Ok it worked the first time couple hrs later tried again and couldn't get them to work in slave wth ? I'm running one 4bar as master and another 4bar as slave opposite stands . Is it a power up issue ? Please help so I can master this .
Howdy my friend. Yeah, they are tempermental. Simply unplug the one unit from the wall and plug it back it. That should be powering up all the units. They may not come in synch right away, if they don't, they will within about 30 seconds. So, they must remain in an outlet that is left on all the time and is never switched off via any kind of power on/off unit. So, the only on or off should come from the supplied 3 button footswitch.
Interesting !
Groovy Productions ... whaaat ... no more groovymusiclessons.com?
are you looking to head off in a new direction away from the guitar ... or?
Howdy my friend. I've actually got a few businesses under my MAIN NAME which is Groovy Productions LLC. So, the DJ business is here: www.freewebs.com/groovyproductions/index.htm Lots of irons in the fire! lol
groovydjs Man that's super awesome and super smart!! It's always a good idea for someone running their own business to have more than one source of revenue ... just in case. Peace, my brother ...
OH ... PS --
As for me ... (LOL) ... I have my main source (which is DFI) and then I'm also a specialist at holding my official "Will Work for Food, God Bless" intersection sign. Additionally, I can also use a freshly stolen five-gallon bucket with dirty water and squeegee-wand in the other hand!! (lord forgive me, I shouldn't use these things in humor)-(but the devil made me do it!!) ... lol
Thank you, thank you, thank you
George Schmidt My total pleasure. That is one crazy thing to have to work through huh? lol Enjoy!
Yes. I think the couple times I did it, I clearly just lucked into it. Set up the lights today and I'm like.... how the hell does this work.
You saved me. Thanks again.
George Schmidt I lucked into it myself. I couldn't get them to do anything, the manuals were useless, the online help in forums were useless as well. I just started hitting each and every thing one by one and writing them down as I sat there with the foot switch and those 2 banks of lights on that stand. I got them all to go to one color MANY times, but SOMETHING would always be off somewhere thoughout the pedal until I came up with those numbers and as you said, it worked a 2nd time. I simply had to post them on here at that point so I wouldn't forget either. lol So, I'm simply glad that you got some use out of it too and didn't have to freak out too terribly long with the problem. Cheers!Scott
