Funny thing is- that OEM intake is engineered with millions of dollars and thousands of hours of work from a team of designers. And the location of the inlet is as far from any heat or dirt you’d normally encounter. 😂
Yeah...that's funny. And also incorrect. The stock intercooler and intake are undersized and lack the ability to dissipate heat. The stock intake air flow is only 295 cfm that uses a small paper filter. This intake flows at 375 cfm and uses the same inlet location as stock. This isn't a naturally aspirated mustang.

Nice video, thank you. After a painful 2 month wait, I received my AFE yesterday. Today is the install date for my '21 F350 XLT w/7.3L Godzilla. Last weeks install was the UPR catch can. Went in way easier than I thought. Thanks again for the video and yes, you have a new Retired Veteran from NoVa as one of your subscribers.
I'm thinking seriously of getting an F350 with the Godzilla engine. To replace my 2006 F350 with a V10 gas engine. It sure looks much easier to work than my V10
Did you notice any better fuel mileage? And do u need a tune? I’m thinking about ordering the afe cold air intake, and possibly long tubes next for my super duty,
I noticed a big improvement all around and yes, it increased the fuel mileage. There is no tune required but a tune would compliment it well. You will have to get a tune for the long tubes though if you order them.
I installed this same Dry intake on my 2021 7.3. I also have the sct x4 from 5 star and I'm getting a drone/rattle from the intake. Almost sounds like a heat shield rattle or a kazoo sound. I installed it and re installed it with the same results. I put the stock air box back in because it was very annoying. I messaged AFE and no response. Can't find much feedback other than this video.
@@streetslayers410 mine is in the intake air box. I found a harness connector touching the bracket that holds the air box (for the rubber grommets). I wrapped it with pipe foam insulation and took care of the kazoo sound every time i hit the gas pedal. I can still here and feel the rattle drone sound when i hit the gas pedal. You may not here or feel it if you have louder aftermarket exhaust. I have stock exhaust with just the coffee can resignator just before the muffler removed. It just has a little more tone than stock. I choked all four tires, applied emergency brake then power braked the truck with the hood up. Once it got to that just rite rpm/load it would make the sound from the air box. I still want to ride in another similar set up to confirm what I here is normal.

Yes a catch can is basically an oil separator. UPR and JLT makes them. I have not not put the truck on the dyno. It was in the plans but I no longer own the truck.
Looks good been on the fence about buying one you may have pushed me over the edge lol. I’ve got a 21 regular cab 7.3 brand new dual exhaust jlt oil separator and either and afe filter or intake soon as they make it lol. How are you liking your tune? Is it worth doing?
So far, everything I've done has been a massive improvement over stock. The tune is definitely worth doing. I think the exhaust was the best mod so far. I definitely need an oil separator after watching Palm Beach Dyno pull the heads off of theirs.

Why??....Why spend the money to add a "cold air" intake, when the unit draws HOT air from the top of the engine?.... No "cold" air whatsoever. The factory air intake system drew colder air from the bottom of the engine!....AND...you just messed up the factory computer's sensors and timing. ZERO HP added and a Total waste of money, friends
It's a closed air box that pulls air from the same inlet as the factory air box....so no it doesn't. And, I was tuned by Palm Beach Dyno. And as the dragy testing will show, I had decent gains where it counted the most, friends.

Interesting. I had something similar in the mid range rpms. I did a data log and sent it to my tuner. Mine was actually in the intake manifold though

UPR is what I just installed 2 weeks ago on my '21 F350 XLT w/7.3L Godzilla...I just got the AFE after 2.5 months...today is the install date...
