I just installed this cold air intake there's a lot of steps that he didn't mention, for instance attaching to the throttle body depending on how big your throttle body is the tightening strap that came with a kit was too big and I had to use the strap from my Mopar cold air intake to tighten it down but I learned the easiest way to do this. Also the hose that comes with the new kit is too long so if you try to attach it it's going to make your connection almost impossible so you have to trim it down. Another good tip is to install the airbox already connected to secondary tubing go ahead and tighten that down to your air filter box that way the easiest part is connecting to the throttle body makes things a lot easier also the tightening strap you can completely undo it and take it off get everything set up and then put it back on to tighten down everything. I highly suggest pre-measure tubing before install
Exactly why this one isn’t an easy sell… to remove the air element for cleaning requires the entire intake box removed from the hose that’s bolted to the throttle body. Really poorly designed and should have had a removable top where the air element could be removed or replaced…
Yeah.. So.. Why not just use a more appropriate sized hose clamp for the throttle body instead of like 4 inches of unused bolt? Mine doesn't even tighten down and I have to run out to buy hose clamps. Is it a big deal... No. But for $500 kinda rubs me the wrong way.
Looking back now across the months, what would you recommend in the way of a cold-air intake for a 2022 Dodge Charger GT (V6) at this point? We are looking to pull the trigger at the end of Summer. Thanks!
It's hard to pick just one to recommend, honestly! Brands like AFE, K&N and Airaid all make great products with perfect fitment. The SR Performance option you commented on earlier is a great choice too if you had a budget. Performance and sound between all of these will be similar. Open-element intakes will be louder, closed box systems will be quieter to the enclosed airbox. -Zach

To replace the filter, it appears the inlet tubing has to be disconnected and removed. Seems a bit much

Yea it's about a good hour. The bolt screws are super long so u need some deep sockets
