A lot of job for a little piece of aesthetics. Thanks for the great tricks!
Great work, it’s looking stunning. Card scrapers are one of my favourite tools.
Patrick, I find this the most interesting and informative channel, with the close ups and repairs all thrown in. I learn so much. Reminds me of when I discovered the Bakelite and super glue trick if I undercut a new nut by mistake . Top stuff and great video. Till the next one 👍🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
I for one would like to see a demonstration of your card scraper sharpening techniques! Cheers!
So impressed with your attention to detail sir, the little touches most would not even bother attempting, you turn them into an art form!!!
This is really coming out exceptional Pat, bravo!
Yes to a video on sharpening card scrapers and chisels and anything else in the shop that 19:34 needs to be sharp. Thanks once again for a thorough and informative video on guitar making. Mark in Maine
Can not get enough sharpening tips Patrick.. cheers..!!
So much more beautiful than plastic
Lots of great tips in this video. Yes, please share your card scraper sharpening tips. Just yesterday I was struggling with mine. Cheers
I too would appreciate a card scraper sharpening tutorial.
That aside, I am thoroughly impressed with your wenge binding results thus far; cannot wait to see how the headstock turns out!
Add another vote for the card scraper sharpening demo from me. Looking forward to seeing your process and also how this headstock binding job comes together!
I'm totally new to card scrapers, so I would love a demo from you on sharpening and using them
Yes, for the card scrapper sharpening video! Please!
A lot of problems that beginners have with any sort of woodworking is tool maintenance. The card scraper guide is a great idea. P.S. Looking good.
Definitely would appreciate a tutorial on sharpening scrapers... 👍🏻
Something I learnt recently re wood binding that will change your life. Pinch Mrs Shed's iron before you flush the bindings off - If you've got any gaps you can literally just heat up the glue and press them back into the channel properly with the iron.
Great tip!
Beautiful job on the headstock binding. And I don't think the filled gaps show up at all. Looking forward tp your next episode.
Magic Wenge Dust! brill. Gappage? What a great word. Definitely want to see how to sharpen a card scraper. I have idea i can make some from an old hand saw blade.
Nice! It would be a void filler, so bring on the card scraper episode!
On the way :)
Great job Patrick! All we builders have to fill binding from time to time. Nice thing about plastic binding is the patches really are invisible. I am however loving the wenge and the fills are as good as they get.
Hi. Please share your card scraper Knowledge. BTW Love your GGBO Guitar build videos. Going to give a guitar build a try because of your video's. :)
Excellent idea using a socket as a matching caul! Try holding a micro tip with pliers and heat slightly with a lighter. Then pull fast and hard it snaps off and creates a nano-tip.
That's a great tip, I'll give that a go.
looking good!
Looking really good. I for one would like to see your sharpening technique for card scrapers
Like it, I heard you say gapage, great terminology 😊 card scraper sharpening would be welcome if you have the time, keep up the great work 👍
Gapage really is a good word isn't it :)
😁
Amazing work on the binding repair! I've seen many videos on card scraper sharpening, but I still can't do it. Would love to see your take on it.
Yes, please, to the card scraper demo.
I’d like to see a card scrape sharpening tutorial!
I would like to see your card scraper sharpening technique. Thanks!
Yea to the card scraper sharpening demonstration 😅
I'd definitely like a guide to sharpening card scrapers, I love mine and want to keep them in good shape. There's something very satisfying about how much control they give me over the cut.
On the way :) They really are a great tool.
I’d love to see your sharpening method for card scrapers.
Hi Patrick great video if you're aware of Jerry Rosa's channel he uses scrapers a fair bit ( perhaps I should say used as he's retired from instrument building and repair !) So a card scraper lesson would be excellent . Ps I've started re watching his old videos ( he's also a great creative clamper 🥸👍👍
I didn't realise that Jerry had retired, I have watched a bit of his stuff over the years, card scraper vid on the way.
@@Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams he has severe arthritis all over but his hands are extremely painful but you know Jerry he's improving his farm now the only instrument work he does is for friends and family he's building a waterwheel+building fed from a spring he passed 100k subscribers ten days ago he's coming up 69 in a few weeks (just after I turn 68!) He's determined to build a Dobro before too long since try and catch his daily vlogs . 👍🥸
Hey man, I really dig your bumper music. Are those Conner guitars we are hearing? And that`s you doing that choir type singing ain`t it? Your show is the Shit! As good or better than Crimson. I`m proud to say my ancestors are also British. That`s why I never stop playing I guess. Rock on you bitches!
I would love to watch you sharpen your card sander
I would have been happy to see you use the white plastic binding on this build but, having seen the results, I bow down to those that demanded a wenge finish. They were right, of course they were right, how could I have ever contemplated anything else! This is a gorgeous build, I am looking forward to seeing it completed.
I’m looking forward to seeing that headstock binding taper and merge into the fingerboard binding. Nice, GGBO calibre, touch!
just started using card scrapers and they work great for the body contours and to get rid of pesky scratches, the wenge binding took it to the next level for sure.
Card scraper sharpening, Please!
What would be the benefit of using dust and superglue instead of making a filler by mixing dust And tight bond? (P.s. I'm not a woodworker, just curious).
Pat, at 2:35 you should blur that part out.
Can’t be showing these youngsters those techniques. Lol.
Did you go to Crimson guitar building course by any chance?
