- This is the 4th video for my entry into the Great Guitar Build Off. In this video I will be laying out and cutting my fretboard, doing all of the inlay work, and bending and installing all of the wood binding.
Work like this can be very therapeutic and satisfying.
The destination is beautiful however the journey is the real treat and why you end up there.
Great work Sir.

Beautiful Inlay Work !
Glad you like it!
Outstanding workmanship. Just subbed.
Thanks and welcome
Your work on the inlay is inspiring! I need to practise.
That wire inlay is not as hard as it looks. Much less precision required.
The Lion is beautiful!
Thank you
amazing work! your video inspired me to attempt my own wire inlay. would love to know what kind of wire are you using and where to get it. I found some flat stuff but it's only colored. once sanded it becomes silver.
I sent you an email but just incase. I used a jewelers brass flat wire. any jewelers supply place should have something similar, but I got mine from Riogrand.com. Its just a soft flat wire of a brass alloy that look about the same color as 14K gold. The stuff I used was 0.020" thick and 0.125" tall. hopefully that helps you.
Love the video, very awesome end result as well. I was wondering what the material is you used for the headstock inlay? It looks like a plate of brass or something.
Thats exactly what is it is. It's a type of brass sometimes call jewlers brass, a type of red brass that's 85% copper and 15% zinc. They use it all the time as a substitute for 14K gold.
Just curious, have you had any issues with color change for the type of brass you are using?
Pleasure to watch, btw how did you recut fretslots with the lion inlays? I doubt that it was done with the same saw.
With the Proxxon. just went back and cut through the brass in the fret slot and back cut it away from the slot slightly in either direction so it wouldn't interfere with the fretwire.
what wire did you use for the inlays? awesome work man
It is a flat brass wire used by jewelers to make bezels for stones. The brass is a type used as a substituted or gold.
Looking for the little flush chisel. I’ve bought many but not happy with them.
I got a small set off of Amazon a while back, they were cheep and work ok. Not the best. Im still looking for a good set myself.
What wood is this? Zircote?
Yes its Zircote.
