Spellbreak was such a good concept, it was a shame it died. They should have added more elemental gauntlets though, we were stuck with the same six from day one. Maybe we could have gotten one that let you control plants that slow enemies, or one that lets you control water for large, sweeping attacks that hit multiple foes at once.

Warframe’s element system is somewhat similar to spell break(even thought it’s not a battle royals but a looter shooter) , you can mix elements there too which have many varying effects

Im glad Macro felt the same about Hyperscape, i remember commenting around nearly 2 years now and mentioning how great hyperscape's br was, and the potential for crazy combos with the different abilities was great. It's a shame it's gone now
Blizzard owns Proletariat, the original developers of SpellBreak. It was renamed to Blizzard Boston, but they still own all Proletariat I.P. if I'm not mistaken. All of SpellBreak's issues were in the lack of manpower, so if they brought it back I highly doubt it would die again.
I’m definitely a huge TitanFall fan but I’d say I’m most nostalgic for Hyperscape (Mainly because I still play TF2). I remember the fun rooftop gameplay and dropping in mechanics, and even running around with what was essentially a rampage before it existed in Apex. And welcome to the schizophrenia club Macro, we WILL get TF3 because TF1 + TF2 = TF3
And in Apex there is three legends conected to three titans, Valkyrie and Northstar, Ash and Ronin, Conduite and Monarch. It is three Titans so they will definitely make a Titanfall 3? Right? RIGHT?
I've seen macro constantly say good things about tf2 movement (which is deserves) but the taitan mechanic it self is very fun, and deserves more love :(
thats what makes it a top 3 fps game for me. 50% mastering pilot movement and combat and 50% mastering the titan combat and matchups. thats not even counting the different builds you can make with each pilot or titan class. love that game.
Not just mixing abilities but countering abilities too. Like when someone threw down a poison cloud and you could freeze it to stop it doing damage. Being able to mix abilities with your opponents attacks to either strengthen it or nullify it was a mechanic that was well ahead of its time

For the first Slot you have 7 Options, for the second only 6 and the third 5 and so on. Also how did you get 7 if there are only 6 Elements. That means there are only 6*5 Options or 30 Combinations
Spellbreak actually had a domination-style PvPvE mode later in its lifespan. As you got kills and captured points, you’d get money to upgrade and buy new equipment throughout the game. The PvE enemies weren’t too much of a challenge, but they helped keep things fast-paced, sorta like the grunts from Titanfall. I have a lot of fond memories of this mode, if they made a Spellbreak 2 or a spiritual successor like that I’d get it in a heartbeat.
I haven't played Hyperscape (tho I wish I did, it looks super cool) but I've heard that the biggest problem with it was how insanely high the skill cap was and that because the weapons had perfect accuracy at any range, it lead to pros absolutely dominating new players in the small player base which made it die quicker (or so I've heard at least)

NFS Prostreet is one of my favourite dead games. That game made me fall in love with cars, racing, the different genres of music and the style of what the game was going for. Spent so long customising and tweaking cars in that game. Included a car that became my dream car. It was the only racing game I’ve played where driving fast is terrifying with the motion blur and camera angles. Split screen drag racing with my dad on the PS3. It was perfect.

Hyper Scape was a game I couldn't really get into at the time but after its death I really liked they design of the map, characters, abilities and more. I think its concept is better as a single player game or co-op like destiny 2 or shatterline. If it were single player it would likely be something with a dope campaign maybe even tiptoeing around cyberpunk

you should cover every indie game that you think have potential cuz that'll help a lot with the gaming community cuz it's really hard to find a game that's actually enjoyable
at 3:31 : it most likely wouldn't be 7 factorial as 7 factorial would imply that cases exist where all 7* or so elements would be used in tandem, which would be very difficult to implement as some abilities would negate others, but even if you placed a hypothetical cap of 3 elements it would be 7C3 which would equate to 7*6*5 or 210 combinations, which is incredibly complex and it only gets crazier if you go to 8 or 9 elements. but the increased complexity of element combination was the thing that got me hooked on spellbreak back when it was in EARLY development and made me play it to the bitter end.

I'd say Warframes a better comparison: cold + heat = blast, or heat + electric = radiation. Each element having other effects beside more damage.
