Nice connection you made there in 2 Corinthians 5:17. Luke 15:7 comes to mind too. I rejoice whenever I hear someone comes to faith in Jesus especially after they've led a sinful life before. It's a reminder to us all of just how much He loves us, His grace and how He's willing to forgive us if we believe in Him. His story sounded a lot like surrender as well. God bless!

Yes. We all should rejoice when someone comes to faith. That’s the attitude of heaven. Thanks for sharing that key Bible verse

I never liked Russell Brand, I believe that he is a new creation now. I believe that the Lord will use him to reach people that normally preachers cannot. Glory to God, he's not willing that any perish. Even if it's only 1 in 10,000 the Holy Spirit will do what it's been sent for. A little church may have a self-righteous belief that they are doing something right of themselves but grace is used that nobody can boast. So many people have treated my little church like cultist. I believe that for the longest time it was a form of persecution. I'm happy in that Christ was persecuted first and he said that his followers would be persecuted to. Most people that have proclaimed to believe in God, their hearts were far from him. Most people were never persecuted because their actions showed that they were of the world. I don't know that everyone that loves the Lord will be persecuted, but they probably are I just can't always see it.

I had heard that Jim Carey had “gotten saved”, but after listening to his “testimony” was utterly disgusted, as he was describing a gnostic antichrist experience. He was preaching another gospel and a false Jesus.
I was hesitant to listen to Russell, hoping to not become more cynical.
    Thank you for sharing this.
I am encouraged to continue praying for those so deceived by glitz, glam, and the rest of fleshly lusts.

We are saved by grace, let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he falls. Let's thank God that we see and have received the joy of salvation in Chris Jesus and pray that those who do not see , see and receive his light

We heard of Russell Brands belief in Jesus but not how it happened. Disappointing.

I don’t understand what you found disappointing. He came to a crisis of faith. He said his faith had been in fame and fleshly lusts, but God showed him that He is the One who has power and Russell turned from his idols to the living God.
      That’s what he described.
He found the True Source of all that is worthy of his trust. God, alone.

I found it to be a wonderful testimony! I am never disappointed to hear these words said aloud: "The Lord Jesus Christ".

How can Jesus be the eternal God when Jesus say’s Himself?
Jhn 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Is it cos you believe in 3 co-eternal persons as one God? If that’s true God has no Son and Jesus has no Father they being co-eternal.
