Well here’s the thing and I’m not bashing Christianity at all I just need to say this cause people have based Christianity on the King James Version. Which is Ironic cause it says in the Bible GOD never liked false idols. So he created the Nephilim to guide the hue-mans. Yes it’s originally spelled like that the Bible but every said it a silent e so it should be taken out like the other languages of the Bible. Anywho the one known as Jesus Christ was born in Israel and walked to China. On his way back from China he disappeared somewhere in Roman Empire. Along his journey he aided any he could for asking for nothing in return. He didn’t fight rather he would just leave if anyone mistreated him. Now he was said to have features of all humanity. Dark skin like Africans cause he walked through a desert, slanted eyes to deal with harsh winds. Dense bones & muscles like Norse and was hot-blooded like Spanish. Why cause if you approach religion as history the way it’s intended then everything in the Bible is real. A man walking from, Africa, Europe & Asia and helped those he walked passed is well simple. Approach this with the year before money was invented and boom you got this awesome guy. The only issue that began in Christianity was because it was so new. They used the term Messiah which means Divine Messenger. Causing all the Messiahs to ever be born into one person that has perfect face, hair and nails. When people also forget King James was an effeminate man who played the role of Messiah in plays. People forget idiots live throughout time & space. So someone saw a play(media) and thought this show is awesome why would I read the book.

@@WaspLife Telling friends “they should” do this or that. The word should is actually an abusive word. Telling friends how to spend their money, not their business. The Bible is filled with “stay away from toxic people.” It also says every word that comes out of our mouths needs to be of encouragement and to build up, not tear down. The Bible also says “mind your own business.” Plain manners tells us to leave adults to their business.

If you don't believe, then there's no reason to come here and comment just to pick fights.
@@mattslater2603 Arguing the existence of God is simple. It's *which* God that most intellectuals are actually debating. Even modern science only goes as far back as "Well, suddenly everything existed". To deny the existence of a creator in general denies cause and effect. With that being said, now you have to figure out *which* God is correct and that becomes a lot easier once you get past denying causality.
@@mattslater2603 While I can’t prove that God exists, I can give you evidence that points to His existence. It is as follows: 1. Order and design come from an intelligent mind. The order and design of this universe come from an intelligent mind. You don’t get order and design by chance or mere coincidence. It points to a designer. If you buy a designer shirt, it was made by a designer. If the sun were one kilometer closer, we would overheat; if it were one kilometer further, we would perish. Isn’t it unreasonable to think that it all happened by chance? 2. Everything that has a beginning has a cause. The universe had a beginning; therefore, it has a cause. The best way to understand this is an uncaused cause, which is God. To me, it is more reasonable to think that life comes from life and not from non-life.
4:30... "Love does not require 'approval'..." I recently had to explain this very thing to someone who tried to refer to me as "phobic." I said, "You do realize that it's possible for me to love you; and disagree with your lifestyle, at the same time, don't you?"
I was (shamefully) hard on my mom as a pre-teen. I screamed at her for not being my friend - she told me “I’m your mother, not your friend - you’ll have plenty of friends in life, I’m your only mother and my job is not to be your friend.” Praise and Glory to God for giving me so many good things that I don’t deserve, not the least of which, parents who have truly loved me.
Friendship doesnt mean approval. I dont approve of my friends bad behaviour. You can totally be your kids friend. But the definition must change if you think it requires approval!
There is definite truth in this comment in a psychological context too. I've met a few people who described the moment that they realized their parents weren't all-knowing when they were kids. Some people shrugged and said, "Who knew?" And others, it was quite devastating. A toddler does see their parents as the all-giving, all capable. A toddler doesn't know the struggles a parent must go through to provide their home, their bed, and their favorite snack. As children, we begin to understand. Some really understand by older childhood, teenage hood, or young adulthood. Spoiled and blinded people sometimes never realize and expect to be provided for their entire lives.
"We will sacrifice them for our benefit, rather than sacrificing ourselves for their benefit". When he said this it hit hard. As a people-pleaser, that is exactly what I'm doing. What a perspective shift.
Turek has stated on many occasions that he is the second coming of Christ, that he is the smartest person ever born, and that he should be the ruler of the world. You are taking advice about humility from the least humble person on the planet

They may hurt your feelings, but will they reject you if you don't live up to what they want? Even Jesus said He would never leave us or forsake us. Too many people are rejected by their families, friends AND churches for being who they are - even if you think that's not who they truly are - and that's sad. And if people say that they love their loved ones as they are at the point in time (it may change), then they're "loving them into hell". Is it more "loving" to reject someone and push them out of your life when they need you the most because they don't meet your approval? I just want you to think.
In my experience, parents who stand by as an audience with their children's lives rather than disciplining them and giving them sound instruction leave those kids for the world to mislead them and they become adults who harbor resentment for their parents because they didn't say no, explain why not and lead them in the right ways instead. Children don't want cheerleaders. They want coaches in the game of life.

@HUNTSMARTFASTHARD: I'm far more educated than you are. My comment stands, because, as quiet as it's kept; NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU "THINK!" And that's all you have to offer: your biased, jaded opinions!
@HUNTSMARTFASTHARD: Well, I should be entitled to assume that you are less educated than I am, because you began your interaction with an insult. Insults are the default response of little children and illiterate adults. Our society forces all manner of things on children; school, being the first one! I believe in the rights of parents to guide and instruct their children. Atheist parents have the right to bring their children up believing there's no God, but once the children reach adulthood, and they become Christians, what right do you have to protest? I mean, for crying out loud; there are people in this society who are advocating "procedures" for children who are not even cognitively developed enough to understand themselves yet! Do you believe THAT is wrong?
Sure, I am all for telling people "the truth", but that includes that you tell them that you are only giving them *_your opinion_* of what this "truth" is. Don't tell your brother he will go to hell if he marries his boyfriend; tell him that *_you believe_* he will go to hell if he marries his boyfriend. That is the real truth.
What a lovely empty platitude. We're not talking about sharing "your truth" or "lived experience" with a stranger here. We're also not even just talking about preventing "someone you love" from choosing a path you believe is destructive, with irreversible consequences to immediate choices. As a parent you are their guardian, and that means you have authority to make choices and enforce them if you believe it is for their ultimate benefit. That's the hard line you walk in love. If a child is running into a busy road, you don't "inform them of your opinion", you stop them, physically if necessary.
The truth doesn’t need to be watered down by saying “it is my opinion”. The Truth is Gods word. There is NO covenant with God in a marriage between same sex individuals. That is The Truth.
@@stephenkeen6044 You said: _" What a lovely empty platitude."_ Well thank you Stephen! You said: _" We're not talking about sharing "your truth" or "lived experience" with a stranger here."_ Not with a stranger, but is it now suddenly OK to lie, or not be completely honest with relatives? And anyway, aren't you supposed to care just as much for strangers as for yourself and your loved ones? But quibbling about who you are admonishing or preaching to is beside the point I was making. I think it looks exactly like "sharing your truth". You are telling the other person, whoever that might be, your opinion about "truth", you are telling them what you *_believe_* to be true; not what is undoubtedly, verifiably, objectively and knowably for all "True" (with a capital "T"). So sure, go ahead and give your loved one your honest opinion, but don't pretend that it is more than that. You said: _" We're also not even just talking about preventing "someone you love" from choosing a path you believe is destructive, with irreversible consequences to immediate choices."_ Correction; with *_your opinion_* about irreversible consequences to immediate causes... Just be honest, please. You said: _"As a parent you are their guardian, and that means you have authority to make choices and enforce them if you believe it is for their ultimate benefit."_ And as long as we are talking about little kids, that attitude may be justified. But Dr. Turek is not only talking about little kids, is he. He is also talking about teenagers and adult children, and about spouses and siblings as well. He is certainly not talking about little kids when, at the 2 minute mark, he talks about "someone you love" getting into "aberrant sexual practices". You said: _"That's the hard line you walk in love."_ I agree. But that is no reason to not be honest. If you declare your own opinions, your own beliefs, to be universal truths, you are not being honest. You said: _"If a child is running into a busy road, you don't "inform them of your opinion", you stop them, physically if necessary."_ Sorry, but that is not the kind of situation Dr. Turek is describing. In fact, in this analogy, the question can be raised whether there is a road at all. It seems to be your firm opin ion that there is a busy road for your kid to run into, but I can't see it. And anyway, you don't stop them with unnecessary force. You don't break their ribs to stop them from running into the road when a gentle nudge would suffice.

The Bible also says “mind your own business.” Plain manners tells us to leave adults to their business.

While I can’t prove that God exists, I can give you evidence that points to His existence. It is as follows:

My son took it all the wrong way It’s been two months since he’s communicated with me. He’s strayed, lying, going down a horrible road. I’ve had another sleepless night.
He always thought I was out to get him when in fact I really tried to guide him to his best life. My heart is broken in a million pieces
I feel for you. I haven’t been the best example for my sons. My oldest has been against God and blames God for his circumstances. I/we(husband, but more me) have enabled him too much and now we are dealing with a 34 year old child who hates to hear their are consequences for your decisions. @@HUNTSMARTFASTHARD The Old Testament correctly predicted Israel would become a nation again on May 14, 1948.
It was prophesied that in the end times in book of Revelation, the Euphrates river would dry up - that is happening now. First time ever.
It was predicted that an alliance of Turkey, Russia, and Iran would form a partnership to go against Israel. This happened last year for the first time in recorded history. (Ezekiel 38 & Ez 39).
It was predicted in the book of Revelation that people would buy and sell using a biometric mark in their hand & forehead. And that buying and selling would be controlled by a globally controlled government. This is happening now with people getting chips in their hand in Sweden to buy things. Amazon One, Whole Foods, and many more are coming up with biometric sensors in the hand.
Here is the verse:
"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is 666." -Revelation 13:
This is just a small sampling. I have been studying this for many years. the Bible has correctly predicted the future every time. In the Book of Daniel, every nation was predicted by name and correct order to come into existence. People don't even realize this. sad.

Wow.. that last one, if love required approval God couldn't love me. That hit hard.
Awesome, I couple years ago I went to a baby Catholic baptism, it was hard to stand there and listen to this priest talk about the Jesus was all about love, love love. When I had a chance I corrected his lies. I asked him what about Matthew ch 23 ? That’s not loving, he became upset and replied that’s your theology, I replied no! That is the Bible you supposed to read and teach! Liars not priest!
I would also have questioned the priest’s view that a baby is saved through baptism alone.
I would personally say that this was a different ‘dimension’ of his love (forgive the strange wording). Akin to how God’s love and justice caused him to exile the Israelites of Jeremiah’s day. It would not be loving if he did nothing to stop their decent into falsity and evil.

@@HUNTSMARTFASTHARDreal educated to argue against something that you believe doesn't exist.

Well said
What a lovely empty platitude.

Well thank you Stephen!
You said: _" We're not talking about sharing "your truth" or "lived experience" with a stranger here."_
Not with a stranger, but is it now suddenly OK to lie, or not be completely honest with relatives? And anyway, aren't you supposed to care just as much for strangers as for yourself and your loved ones?
But quibbling about who you are admonishing or preaching to is beside the point I was making. I think it looks exactly like "sharing your truth". You are telling the other person, whoever that might be, your opinion about "truth", you are telling them what you *_believe_* to be true; not what is undoubtedly, verifiably, objectively and knowably for all "True" (with a capital "T").
So sure, go ahead and give your loved one your honest opinion, but don't pretend that it is more than that.
You said: _" We're also not even just talking about preventing "someone you love" from choosing a path you believe is destructive, with irreversible consequences to immediate choices."_
Correction; with *_your opinion_* about irreversible consequences to immediate causes... Just be honest, please.
You said: _"As a parent you are their guardian, and that means you have authority to make choices and enforce them if you believe it is for their ultimate benefit."_
And as long as we are talking about little kids, that attitude may be justified. But Dr. Turek is not only talking about little kids, is he. He is also talking about teenagers and adult children, and about spouses and siblings as well. He is certainly not talking about little kids when, at the 2 minute mark, he talks about "someone you love" getting into "aberrant sexual practices".
You said: _"That's the hard line you walk in love."_
I agree. But that is no reason to not be honest. If you declare your own opinions, your own beliefs, to be universal truths, you are not being honest.
You said: _"If a child is running into a busy road, you don't "inform them of your opinion", you stop them, physically if necessary."_
Sorry, but that is not the kind of situation Dr.
