    Great to check this out again and relive it. There's no way that I'd be able to do this ride now. I need to regain my fitness!

    Great video Nerb1 think you really captured how tough a course it actually is, I've been riding/racing mtb for 20yrs and found it tough. You guys did well!!! Good to meet you out there, looks like you enjoyed the climbs from the TBJ ;-)

    Nice vid Nerb. Plenty of uphill hey? Glad I will have my eMTB to ease the suffering a bit, I am heading up there with friends sometime this year. Are you getting out on the MTB a lot these days?

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  6 років тому

      Did you do this trail yet Tori? For some reason I didnt see this comment. It would be awesome on the e bike!

    Nice Smooooth Burms at 14:00 ish. Very long track that, well done.
    Quick question. Just scored a Free (never used) Giant Talon (Tempt3 or 4?) Might be ladies bike (TBC) Plus I allready own a starter Trek 3700 (modded for RockShox custom headstem setup 4me blah blah), anyway.
    Which one better in the bush?? The Trek is a heavy frame, but the Giant is super light and Disc.
    I don't wanna break the Giant (feels light/weak in frame compared to Trek??).
    Short story Long...Which wont break with my 'Torture'? Should i sell the Giant now? (if it is ladies bike)
    >:)

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  9 років тому

      MrFalloffalot If it is a giant Talon, keep that one for sure! That would be an awesome bike. If it is a tempt, then you have a decision to make. If the tempt is considerbaly lighter, I'd be likely to keep that over a heavier Trek, regardless of it being a "ladies" bike. I doubt you will break it unless youre planning on 6 foot drop offs?

    • @MrFalloffalot
      @MrFalloffalot 9 років тому

      Ahuh, wasn't sure bout the frame. Goog searches are leading me to the 'Tempt', but some have that label...'Ladies'...
      Nice score then, coz prices are from $899-1399.00 RRP WIN!
      Just gotta re-do rear wheel bearing (loose)
      Thanx for the advice Nerb. I'll get a vid up next day or so of it.
      >:)

    ugh my god this is so amazing! lucky dogs! what would you say compares to this area in the US Nerb? just curious it looks semi arid and green too.

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  10 років тому

      Moto XO Our hills are babies compared to the USA. Mt Bulla is the third highest snow skiing resort in Australia and its only 1600 meters (4800ft)... the highest is only 2200m (6600ft). Its quite temperate so only 2 or 3 months of snow even at that altitude. Your neck of the woods is cold cold cold right?Maybe you will just have to visit!

      Luz Getting Lost State park only I think. It would be awesome on something with an engine, but also a quick path to prison :)

    Not sure that my Cannondale SuperSix would have liked that terrain much hence I didn't go. Maybe I should dust off and get my old mountain bike rolling again?

    What did your mate on the DH say?
    Was it easy or pretty difficult? I did delatite trail and that was pretty easy

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  10 років тому

      callum mackay No one in the group thought it was an easy ride, but we have just come out of winter and no one had ridden much.
      Delatite is graded as intermediate. Have you done stone fly? Thats a 10km section that the epic uses.It is graded as expert. If you thought stonefly was easy, then you probably wouldnt have much trouble doing the whole epic. The epic is graded extreme, mostly because of the length I think.

    • @mackay820
      @mackay820 10 років тому

      Yeah I did Stonefly That was pretty intense in spots. But that looked epic man... hahah pun inteded haha

    Excellent edit mate! You certainly got a bit of footage of me in there. I am pretty sure that I got a lot of footage of you as well. My pushing style is trademarked, do not copy it!
    All that uphill pushing was almost totally forgotten after a few km of downhill! That was so much fun!

  • @stevenavramov3677
    @stevenavramov3677 10 років тому

    How do you think a hard-tail mountain bike would go on this track

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  10 років тому

      A hard tail will be fine. There are no large jumps or anything rough enough to really justify a dual suspension bike. Just make sure you have some fitness. Its only 40km but its pretty rocky and more uphill than I thought there would be.
      Have fun!

    • @stevenavramov3677

    Nice job Nerb, I think you captured that really well. The scenery going through the place would have been spectacular but I think I am a little too broken and out of shape to be trying something like that any time soon, so Thank you for taking me with you on that adventure :-) don't know what all the fuss was about, I found it pretty easy from where I am sitting :-) LOL Great vid mate, something different and well worth the watch. Stay safe out there Mate!!....... OH, is the Thailand footage going to be coming out soon?

    • @MrAusadventure
      @MrAusadventure 10 років тому +1

      It was a lot bloody easier watching it from home than doing it, I can tell you!

    Nice ride, can I ask how long it took you guys from start to finish ?

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  9 років тому

      +Bret KTM It was mentioned near the end... we were a leisurely 6.5 hours. Moving time 5 hours.

  • @tailtaptailtap
    @tailtaptailtap 8 років тому

    Very confused. Why didn't you guys use the chairlift and ride the downhill track? there's very limited uphill

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  8 років тому

      Because we went to do the epic. If we went to do downhill, I guess we would have. Not sure why thats confusing?

    • @tailtaptailtap
      @tailtaptailtap 8 років тому

      +Nerb1 because you say 'hopefully lots of downhill'. ... id have chosen the 'downhill'. seems obvious

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  8 років тому

      Fair enough. Well none of us had ridden the alpine epic trail and thats what we went for. We can do downhill another day.

    AWESOME effort and experience! I really want to do it, just need something a little better than my hybrid (Giant Roam XR2). No doubt the camera doesn't do the trail justice!

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  6 років тому

      Ahhh, but did you enjoy this version? I think you should have some more commentary or your vids ;) Tell us if the track is enjoyable or not. Thoughts?

    • @trailogr5790
      @trailogr5790 6 років тому

      Nerb1 everyone's opinion of enjoyable differs, and my opinion of talking over point of view riding videos is that it's annoying. Cheers

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  6 років тому

      How come? The way I see it is your videos are a review of all the tracks you ride. Some comment could add a lot to a review. Unless you are just catering to cripples who cant ride a bike but want to pretend they are?

    • @trailogr5790
      @trailogr5790 6 років тому

      Haha the way I see it, people can make their own mind up from watching the videos

    Is that all one way track? Didn't see any oncoming cyclists. Are you on map my track then? P.s. That music wasn't quite rainbow factory status ;)

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  10 років тому +1

      lol... its hard to find a decent 17minute long tune.It is designed for 1 direction, but only some sections were officially 1 way I believe. I used an app "My tracks". Some others used Strava. I try to "sign up" to as little number of tools as possible.
