Nice review mate. I actually ordered one last weekend for my ktm 890. I was hoping to use it offroad on Gaia GPS app. Most of the reviews I've seen have been positive. Cheers for sharing
Looks great. My Norden has some crappy app and nav by Husqvarna. Very clunky. Ended up removing it all. I don't understand why the OEMs don't just go with Carplay.
Bought the 702Pro today. Probably the standard 702 would’ve been fine but it’s a lot cheaper than buying a Zumo XT2 so got the pro. I’ve been using a TomTom Rider 550 for awhile now but prefer Waze on the iPhone for urban navigating. With off line maps I’m hoping this unit will take over phone and TomTom navigation, plus the mega screen will be awesome. Hopefully doesn’t take weeks to arrive 😊
Interesting review, just wondering if it would link to a Garmin Explorer for those times when there is no CarPlay or Android Auto access. T7 sounds awesome.
I am curious how the device will perform regarding the Vibrations coming from the motorcycle. With all the other devices the always use an complex vibration decoupling which doesn't seem to apply to the Carpuride. If it keeps working that would be a really nice device!! :)
Well i have pretty much permanently fitted it to my bike, so it will feature in all my videos from now on.... you'll see if it breaks! Except my next video is from a few weeks ago before i got this device, so ignore the next one ;)
Vibration dampening is for the Phone Cameras, as the method they changed to do stabilization isn't as durable as the older style, but it is more compact as everyone wants/wants to make slimmer devices.
The square bracket is for thin bars. You can use the ball mount and clamp. I made my own 3d printed mount for the t7. If you have a 3d printer, I can send you the file. Or I can print one for you. I have moulded earplugs, but I know lots of people that use regular earbuds. Maybe get an exchange on your ears?
Yes. Ive ridden in the rain. It hasnt died yet. It says IP67. Its all sealed. Where I have it on my bike, and with the little visor it has, it doesnt even get overly wet. It is wettest when i wash the bike.
Hey mate, just checking if you looked at Apple connectivity and if it’s wireless also? Also, how did you record the audio from your headset with the video? Cheers
Ya, some Carplays are wired only for Apple, and most are wireless for Andriod. But still, routing a cable is not much of an issue just placing it in the tank bag... but if you charge at the same time moot point.
It works wireless with Apple car play just as well. I also have the 702 screen on my T7 and in fact, it doesn’t even offer the option to connect your phone by cable.
@@Nerb1 Problem solved. It turned out to be the VPN on my phone. Once I paused it then rebooted the device osmAnd worked perfectly. Hope this helps someone who might have a similar problem. Cheers.
Oooh new video!!! That's a great way to start my day! 🎉🎉🎉 Thanks Nerb!

oooh a built-in intercom feature! Need to try that feature on mine. Agree, the Carpuride is a pretty nifty device!
This set up looks so clean! It makes my car satnav held on with cable ties on my old T7 look like a joke! 😂
Thanks, you got my phone playing Incubus. Definitely not a bad thing.
I have been looking at these thanks for the review
Thanks, Nerb. My google nest at home just started playing Incubus! I kid you not.
lol.... well thats not a bad thing!
My google heard your google and started to play the news!😂
My AT wont let you touch the screen while moving but I have handlebar buttons to use

Agreed! I havnt seen a good built in one yet. Carplay is just easy.
great review Nerb san, I'm also looking at the Chigee AIO 5 Play for the beamer, legacy NAVI's just aren't cutting it anymore.
Carpuride sell a mounting bracket that connects this unit to the Bmw GS navigation base mount including power to the unit. Very handy.
Thanks for the review, interesting.
Good job on the "hey google" there bud 😂

Let me know how it goes. I have wayz and Gaia on my phone now. All work on the screen.
@@Nerb1 Did you go with Gaia Premium?
@@roysyntageros4191 I just have the basic/free version

Brendon, for the helmet itercom system, what would you suggest

looks good nerb... do you know if it can be used in portrait mode? cheers
No it cant. Landscape only
Hi Nerb. Very interested in purchasing a T7 bracket from you. How can I make this happen? Cheers, Bill.

I am interested in buying a 3D printed mount for my Carpuride 702Pro. I live in Northern Ireland. Can you give me a price? Thanks.
If you have a 3d printer, its free. If not, we can work something out. Email me at vlogonwheels at gmail
So the square bracket that is in the packge wont clamp on the t7? Also what ear buds are you using? I get wind noise and my buds always fall out.

@@Nerb1 OIC I thought you were using ear buds to hear the navigation or music. I will send you a FB message to discuss the mount if that is best.
Nice mate!
Have you tried the road book app that you use on the off road rally.
I just did... Piste doesnt work with android auto :(
I'll find one that does!
Have you used it in the rain yet? How waterproof are they?

No, I didnt check apple connectivity. I assume its the same. I could go check it if you want me to. My daughter has an apple phone.
@@Nerb1 would be nice to confirm if it works wirelessly… no rush though! 👍👍

@@Scooty9794 what iPhone you running?
Will the off road maps work off line with no phone reception?
Any app that works off line, works offline. Gaia, osm, hema etc etc. The Carpuride mirrors your phone. The phone does the work.
@@Nerb1 Thanks for your reply. I’ve ordered one. I still have the Doogee, but it’s bit hard to see. 👍🏻
Hey Brendan, did you purchase osmAnd maps?. It doesn't seem to work on mine unless I purchase the app.
No, im just using the free version.
Make sure it is ticked "on" in your phones AA settings
@@Nerb1 Cheers mate, I'll check it out👍.
Actually it works with Google maps etc but just not with osmAnd. Weird.

Wonder how this would go off road
Was this not off road?
Regardless.... it will see a lot more abuse over the next few years ;)
You must be working on the new bridge in Wye then 🤔 looks good though, I’ve seen the same thing for sale on those pesky TV paid advertisements
Ha, no, not the bridge. Im up on the hill somewhere.
@@Nerb1 I can imagine, there’s some great homes up there. You should come back in the dry and ride Wye track it’s a good one 🤘🏼
only good while you have cellular coverage.
@@Narcissistic74 With OSMand it runs offline. Google maps needs internet, but there is lots of apps that don't.
Don't u need phone data to keep mapping working .
You can download most maps/areas to your phone.
Google maps uses data to plot routes, but OSMand, Gaia maps and many others work offline.
@@Nerb1 yer u didn't mention the others ,I use ozi explorer on my rally bike tablet, good review thou mate.
