just some FYI.. if you make the line too long.. it won't work right... if you want really long run.. you will need to get one that runs 24v .. I've seem them a tad of 60' but 2 x 5 meter(16'x2) runs,... will not run off one 5v feed...
is it not hard to open those connectors? i bought similar like that. and it even has a pick to open the connectors but to no avail, i could not open the connectors..
I see a lot of conflicting comments regarding the 4-pin RGB+ being used for RGBIC style LEDs. Can the 4-pin L connectors in your video be used with RGBIC?
I'm gonna go round the top of my room with them in coving but what's the chances of every corner ending at a copper contact so how do you connect them then when the corner has to be an exact length do u use connecters
It's all down to visual and proximity from the wall behind : too close you need the 90° angles, or if you have visual, you need the 90° angles, otherwise it's much better to just gently bend the strip, but not push on the bend. Every time you can avoid having to solder on this is really a relief!
Thanks! Didn’t know about pull the gel back on water proof models. Also like your message about paying cash, not point going into debt for discretionary/ unnecessary stuff!
Hi @TipsNNTricks, do you have any suggestions on how to use the 90 degree connector to do a left turn after a right turn. It seems that once you start, you can only use them to turn either only to the left or to the right, ultimately forming a square...
I affixed my LEDs to aluminium strips (20x1.6mm) shaped to fit neatly on the rear of the tv. This acts as an heat sink which will extend the life of the strip immeasurably and looks better too. Also those clips are a pain in the arse but cheap! Love from Australia.
I have the problem with the 90's not holding connections and the segments turn different colors :( so I am trying again. with some 90's that are hopefully better quality because if this fails.. I will just make my own 90's with some thin wire and soldier them.. which in my opinion is the best way anyhow... and if you use wire then you can make different angles without the hardware.. you just bend a little or you can shorten the inner wires proportionally to the angle if you know what I mean oh and use shrink tube heat it and form to what ever angle you need.. ...... thanks for this vid... it did help...
I have the same problem regarding the change in color after the first connector. At first, I thought it was because my connectors have the + R G B sequence, while my LED strips have the + G R B (G and R flipped), but someone told me it doesn't matter what's written in the connectors, and that the only thing that matters is the you connect each letter to each letter of the other end of the STRIP, NOT THE CONNECTOR. So I ask you, are the copper part of your strips that go inside the connector bent or damaged? Because mine are pretty bent and I think that's whats causing the different colors right after the first connector. My other connectors in the circuit don't display different colors so that's my guess (and those other ones slipped inside the conector super easily, but the ones that are giving me problems are not)
I have a question. Let's suppose I have a 15ft LED light strip that gets powered by a 12V adapter. If I use a corner connector to connect it to another 15ft light strip, will the lights get dimmer? Is it the same case for soldering? I'm asking this because I was about to buy corner connector, but the store didn't have it. They said that I could connect the strips with a soldering iron, but the lights would get dim.
Hey I've got a question! Is there any way to change the direction of the l-shaped connector? Because apparently as long as you start taping the led lights on, you can only go one way with the angle - it only goes left (direction from the power), but I need it to go right....
The +RGB on the connector doesn't correspond to the +GRB on my light strip. The red and green won't work properly because of it. What am I supposed to do about that?
I just installed led lights non waterproof and they are hard to get the led strip under the contacts in the connectors and slid them in with the double sided tape. You basically have to get the double side tape off the back of the strip where you cut the the led strips or it will stick before you can slid them under the contacts. I agree that its just better to loop the led lights in the corners.
Great video! Thanks for sharing! 🙏🏻 I have a question about the leftover led strip… because I’m gonna have this case here at home and I would like to reuse it… my question is: what do I do with the part (the end) that I will cut? I mean, one parte is going to be on the first “project”, in the end of it… can it just be “alone”? I don’t know if I made myself clear! 😅
See? I did this but my connected strip doesn’t transmit the correct colors. It won’t turn on for orange or green colors and I have the “+” mark lined up properly. Idk what I’m doing wrong.
I like that you ask the question "is it worth it?". Because it costs extra, is extra work, but looks cleaner. I think I'll be non-perfectionist and go with looping the corners this time, otherwise I'll overthink and never get it done. Good video, turned out really neat!
I went with the clean 90° angles and everything worked great … for a while. Those plastic connectors are so cheap and temperamental. If any of the RGB connections are weak you can see a colour difference and/or light intensity difference after the connector (and there’s 3 connections so good luck). After 1.5 years I’m just going full strip and looping the corners.
@@gyo911 Thanks for the input man! Yeah I went with looking the corners and everything has been working perfectly and hassle free ever since I mounted it! The only thing I did was helping it stick to the tv better by using some strips of electrical tape on "stress points" where the adhesive would get loose such as at both ends of the loop in ever corner. And it has stayed up just fine and haven't gotten more loose in the months since I mounted it! Best of luck with yours :)
i’m so mad.. i bough LED strips and connectors, matching the amount of pins and read EVERYTHING in the description of the two items because i messed up the pin amount last time. The LED streps we’re too damn small for the connectors. And they even had the same size displayed as the connectors!! I’m not even able to get a refund either. Stupid.
Thanks mate, just started my led journey and was afraid of pushing the cut off bit too hard, thanks for showing how to do it. Much appreciated
Dude this fixes everything. I could never make them as long as I wanted to without bending or multiple outlets. Thanks!
You got it JRP:) it's a game changer:)

Power injection is not difficult, 2 amps every 5 metres should rectify any voltage drop issues!
90 degree angle do u have to buy separate or cones in packages

Do those 90 degrees work on any strip or a specific brand?
Anyway tomdo it without this thing's ? I cant find it anywhere

Just use wrong angle connectors, they go left!
this works with GE cync lights ?
What if I have In corner connector different pos.. And led strip different pos
.. Is there any sense to make it work

Tryed this but when i connect one strip to another after i have cut it i get differant colours on the leds
I think the connection might be bad try another connector and make sure the connection points are touching properly.

maybe im missing smt but turn it around?
Can you do this with govee rgbic?
I wish you showed how to appeal the gel.
The content is great sir, but I must know where'd ya get the wedding band?
Omg you should incorporate waterproof in the title bc I was looking all over for a. Waterproof LED cutting video
The +RGB on the connector doesn't correspond to the +GRB on my light strip. The red and green won't work properly because of it. What am I supposed to do about that?
Can you cut the strips on the golden lines? Will it keep glowing? It will it stop working
How'd you get the led connector to stick to the back of the tv when they come without adhesive??
You don't need to as the meters worth of led strips hold them in place
Thereee we go. Thank you for this

Lift the tabs until a loose fit and the snap down cover pushes them back down tight!

Keep left overs to connect together and get a free length eventually!
Just dab a little lube on the end of the led's, it'll slide under the metal contact's easily. I used a little Vaseline, worked a charm.

Learn to solder.
The BLACK version of these would look a little better. Wish the video showed the 'no connector' folded strip option so we could see the difference...
he did lol
0:22 he does in this part
Do you have to take off the carbord on the bottom
One strip wont light with the angled connector with + RGB because they're on opposite sides.😢
One strip lights up and the other strip doesnt!😔
Doesn't it blink
I'm having issues slipping it in
I did at first but after I spat on it, it slid in quite nicely.
I had that problem at 1st so I just used lube but now she's had two kids it's no longer an issue
If you cant cget it ubder get a pocker knife and push the silver things upwards and put the leds under then push the silver prongs down
Thx for this video 😎
Clean look with all the dust on the tv 😂😂😂 hope you wiped it before installing strip 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah those 90 clips are very difficult to slide strip under. If you pry them up a bit to make room the clip no longer works. Don't use them!!
Thanks u
Thats NOT a cleaner look at all
Yeah, the OP noticed the same thing in the end. At least get the BLACK version if you're mounting on a dark surface.
Mine broke don’t bother
Ok
Thank you for watching:)

Awsome
man fy, i think you MAKE a conector not USE one aff
Hello Chris
Hello Jeanetta:) Thank you for watching and I hope you can install some sweet lights in your home:) Have a great day:)
Those 90 connectors are absolute wank. They’re proper shite
I litterally messed everything up.
