It seems like Kaido realizes what has been weighing on him and sending him into a deep depression was how the fight with Oden went and how he killed him afterwards rather than fight him fairly. He was able to lie to himself that only victory matters at the time, but it ate away at him. Despite him pretending to live by the same philosophy, he really has been stuck waiting for another fight to excite him like Oden did, but when Kaido finds himself in the same situation, all the years of guilt and regret hit him all at once. His eyes portray the sudden understanding thay what he wanted was a fair and equal fight, and he has lost that again, but I don't think he is going to allow himself to make the same mistake of accepting a shallow victory this time.
I kind of want kaido to beat down the CP0 guy, go sit on a rock, and just wait to see if Luffy will come back around to finish the fight. It would be a good time for him to briefly reflect on Joyboy and the coming dawn

I love how kaido has a big contradiction in this chapter. In the fight kaido calls the samurai weak and stupid for believing in honor and saying winners don't need rationalations but when CPO grabs Luffy and kaido hits him he is in udder disbelief despite that he won implying that he too believes in an honorable fight. 10/10 chapter
It might not be honor, but rather the want for a challenge. The last time he had the chance to face someone who was a challenge, he wasn't able to really fight him, as he was fighting with handicaps. So he might be like toguru and his true desire is to face defeat at the hands of someone worthy.
I agree with you. I think Luffy will expose this contradiction within Kaido throughout the next few chapters, somehow earning Kaido’s belief in him as Joy Boy. This then could reignite Kaido’s dreams (he is living for death right now, just drinking and fighting) and then start their true fight. The reason I believe it is important for Kaido to believe Luffy is Joy Boy is because I think it makes the possibility of Kaido leaving Wano without being killed more possible (because he knows more about the country’s connection to Joy Boy than we do).
Maybe Kaido is in denial of what he actually wants. He "should" want power at any cost, but actually believes in victory in a fair fight. He's trying to convince himself that been handled victory through trickery is okay for him, but in the bottom of his heart, he would rather lose fair and square.
One particular line I found interesting was Kaido saying that the movements of snakeman attacks shouldn’t be possible for luffy’s fruit. I’m 95% convinced now that the elders recent conversation about a fruit and the order to eliminate luffy is tied to his fruit.
I think it just hints at Rufy's awakening to be honest. Snakeman's attacks are literally changing direction midair, Rufy's rubber body shouldn't be enough to make him able to do that. However, if he's changing the properties of the objects/area around him that's a whole new ball of wax. If Rufy's making the air around the punches "bouncy" to correct their trajectory, everything suddently makes sense.

Nah, don't think so. Kaido has no idea how Gear 4 works and how Luffy uses armament to bend his rubber arms at impossible angles, of course he'd be surprised and confused. He ain't that smart.
Keep in mind Luffy said if his next hit didn't work it would be over, he didn't say that if he got it it would be over. I imagine Kaido's going to be distracted by Bob Lucci, and that gives Luffy a few moments to recover at which point he's gonna get up and have a "I didn't hear no bell" moment.

Honestly I kind of feel bad for Kaido always having his best fights interrupted. I can definitely understand how that would take him off and how being called the strongest would make him question himself.
I am so exited for this This isn't like the Flampe situation at all because the CP0 agent seems conflicted in what he's doing. If he doesn't get murdered to hell and back from Kaido next chapter he's probably going to have a relatively interesting character arc and I am STOKED because I'm already invested.

From what I see, CP0 was shocked at first because it’s a good idea to just let Kaido and Luffy battle to the death... then his boss just told him to kill Luffy ASAP. And he did jump in even after drake stabbed him. He is probably on his last breathe. It shows that CP0 exists only for the missions. It’s like “ you ordered me to die? The way ANYONE can just see how destroyed Kaido looks at the end of the chapter where he finally was in the mindset of "THIS is what i wanted with Oden and this kid might pull it off entirely fair" only to have another interference...I cannot WAIT and PRAY the next few chapters dive into Kaidos past a bit!
Here's what I think might happen next chapter: A flashback to his interrupted fight with Oden, Rage completely overtakes Kaido, he violates that CP0 agent, takes his transponder snail, announces that If Luffy doesn't get up, when the raid ends--he WILL come for them next. Making the World Government guys sh*t their pants. Which Leaves WG with two outcomes: 1. The Raid is successful, Luffy beats Kaido. 2. The Raid unsuccessful but now an ANGRY EMPEROR is on their hands. Leading them to pick obviously the first and less catastrophic option. Them begrudgingly hoping that Luffy gets back up and finish the fight.
Loved the chapter, Luffy clearly mentioned that this is his last gear 4, so now if he can’t go to gear 4 and can’t use haki (gear 4 drains haki for 10 minutes) i think that the only power remaining to defeat kaido is some sort of raw devil fruit power, not saying it’s some son wukong type of thing but just thing some crazy DF reveal is coming, that is of course only if luffy is going to defeat kaido in this battle itself, because there could still be more to go in wano than just this last round of luffy vs kaido
What i thought really stood out to me in this chapter was Kaido thinking that if Luffy's power is rubber he shouldn't be able to do what he does in snake man like switching the trajectory of his arms.
It doesn't make sense why the world government placed so much protection on a devil fruit that grants rubber powers. I think theres more to luffy's devil fruit than just becoming rubber and kaido knows it.
Watching one piece with my family is something I've dreamed of for over a decade. It finally happened after introducing my mom to the series. My dad actually caught up with the manga in a matter of weeks; He compares the feeling of reading the manga to reading marvel comics when he was young. He caught up today... what a chapter to end off on
I thought that Luffy would uncontestedly win but in classic fashion, he will be on the verge of death and I think that is when we will see his next gear. I think him starting to lose is how we will be introduced to the next gear. Kind of like Luffy's next gear is a last resort move.
With all the hints that Luffy has a legendary DF and kaido saying about luffys powers that it isn't a rubber DF just leads me to believe in luffy having a goku vs frieza moment where it causes his awakening (super saiyan transformation)

I think the biggest thing Liam missed was that despite Kaido being the strongest creature in the world who processes one of the largest armies in the world for the deliberate purpose of waging the biggest war the world has ever known, the world government still saw the need to intervene in his fight against luffy in kaido's favor because they still see luffy as a bigger threat to them. I'd imagine this would be world shattering for kaido since after all he's done and intent on doing he seems to never be taken as seriously as he'd hoped. He ruled wano for many years and the world government surly knows what he was doing but nothing to a big enough risk to them to actually intervene until he allied with big mom and more importantly up against straw hat pirates and allies.
I can just imagine Momo seeing that Luffy is knocked out and telling Zou to attack Kaido. Zou in turn impails Kaido, giving Kaido the honourable death he desires
Honestly really surprised at this turn of events, Kaido's face at the end of the chapter after repeating history just screams remorse and I'm really interested to see how he reacts. Edit: Something else interesting to note is Bob Lucci's words to Drake saying he was envious of Drake being able to follow his sense of justice indicating that he may not have his own free will. P.S. I really liked the beginning just because of how cool the interaction was with Drake saying "I follow my own justice" and the Bob saying "I envy you" I think it shows how many marines and CP members think about working for the WG and having to do the horrible stuff the WG stands for. I also think that this dialogue shows that Drake will be very important in the future

I always appreciate that Luffy still makes mistakes, loses, learns from them, & gets back up. He doesn’t just accept defeat/failure. I wish I was like that lol.
There's no divine decree saying you (as in you personally, mmem) have to stay down when you make mistakes or fail. If you get up you will be like Luffy, it is in your control. Easier said than done sometimes though, I know, but in the end it's up to you
5:24 but Luffy states something very specific in this chapter: "One more hit ...!! If that doesn't work ... then I've lost!!!" That tells me that he has no idea how to use Gear 5. He has no *active* way out of this. That does not exclude unintentional ways out like awakening of his devil fruit in a state of unconsciousness (like Goku and UI in DBS). I've been looking for a while and I can't find a definitive answer, so I'm asking Liam and the grand line fleet. How many gomu gomu techniques Luffy used over these 20+ years? I've been 'cheekily' positing that the dreams from the lanterns, or maybe some Wano citizens dream specifically, is to simply do away with or obliterate Onigashima completely. As in one, or many, of the lanterns (spirits of the dead and all) floating up, into the hole through the bottom and setting the explosives ablaze all at once completely exploding inside Onigashima and the explosive energy propels Onigashima like a rocket off into space; maybe to meet Eneru up on the moon even 😁. Perhaps after the heroes and innocents have escaped (or are no longer there for whatever reason supports my current headcanon) so that the explosion thrusting Onigashima to 'new heights' doesn't take any innocent bystanders, nor heroes along with it. I first had the thought from the moment Law's sword bore the hole down through the bottom, and also Kaido blasting Luffy through as well and each time this OnigashimAnus was highlighted, Yamato and company were yet again stressed about it immediately after. Confirming to me even further now, after I've been thinking this even more within this recent chapter (1042), there's a somewhat out of place, momentary context panel reiterating the people down in Wano sending their wish lanterns skyward, only to literally show, *in the very next panel* the entire island of Onigashima. Which, though this isn't a Hollywood movie, any film buff would say that this sequence is quite telling of the lanterns having a very direct effect upon Onigashima!
Gear 5th would be either Luffy's df awakening or something else entirely, and there's no guarantee he'll unlock it in this arc (but I really hope he does because that'll be awesome)
I think it’s highly likely as we’ve seen Law and Kidd awaken this arc. Luffy has to surpass both of these characters so it makes sense he would awaken as well.

Luffy is most likely to awaken his devil fruit in 1043. Ju (10), shi (4) and mi (3), the jushi ni mi which means Resin Fruit. This is one of Oda's word play and will likely reveal the true nature of Luffy's Devil Fruit.
11:20 I really hope the citizens watch the fight or catch a glimpse of them clashing (if luffy still got energy left) it adds more meaning knowing there's someone fighting for your freedom. I think Kaido hinted at Luffy's devil fruit not being rubber when he mentioned that his punches in Snake Man form were not indicative of rubber. I feel like this may have hinted that there is something else going on.

I never have reviewed a page for so long in one piece. I kept looking at the final couple pages over and over again. Something about it. Glad you started off with them because I felt the same way. Something so scary about how governments tend to operate.
Ever since I saw gear fourth I’ve had suspicion that his devil fruit was a ‘monkey king’ fruit based off the patterns on his body. It also made sense that he is immune to lightning just as the monkey king was and his body had the property of his staff which is to change and expand. The similarities with him and monkey king were just uncanny and I had my suspicions. Now with this fight between kaido (dragon) and luffy (monkey king) symbolises the fight between the monkey king and the dragon of the east bearing in mind that oda loves taking inspiration from deity lores from all over the world. This would also explain how jaecheondaesong (monkey king) fought against the heavens (gods/celestial dragons) to bring them down to earth. This are just my suspicions though

Am i the only one who thinks we have already seen Kaido's awaken form? Both in this chapters "homicidal drunk" and in chapter 1037's "Laughing drunk" he has a different form that's very similar in shape to the jail beast. Tho it might just be a different form since some Zoan users can do that. Food for thought i suppose
Id say the two big things for me not in this video are A) Kaido remarks on how Luffy's attack don't appear to be rubber and b) the lanterns would represent the sun and dawning of a new day, going on the Nikka Sun God theme. So we essentially had a possible confirmation that Luffys fruit might be the one the Gorosei were speaking of, which can play into whatever he does next power up wise. Also the Sun God motif may come in heavy especially with the presence of Zunesha.

It was in fact similar in the official English release by Viz. I know it launched a lot of speculation so maybe there will be a separate vid or just an oversight.
I must bring to your attention this "theory" that some bunglenut on Reddit came up with. They think that the egg on the Oro Jackson is actualy Joyboy and by extension, Luffy. Of course, literally no one seemed to take it seriously, but I thought it was a funny thing that you should know.
That would make a lot of sense tbh considering Sun Wukong was born from an egg and a lot of Luffy's character is loosely based upon certain aspects of Wukong.
Weird idea but Luffys gear 5 is bouncing back. Specifically healing back, giving him a new level of endurance on par with Kaido. People have said for years that the rubber rubber fruit is fitting since he always bounces back, but i am starting to think it may be literal

Theory: Each major fight in the new world has an interference that hurts Luffy but the enemy is noble and wants the fair fight... until Blackbeard, who will try to get interference just to win, but Luffy will see it coming and prevent it, forcing the 1v1.

Kaido was already in his homicidal drunk phase during the occasion so the eyes are a representation of that. Luffy isn't going to fall through the ceiling to signify his loss nor will kaido throw him off the roof like before only because of what happened with Oden. He's going to kill Cp0 guy on/off-screen and wait for luffy's few minutes to recover from G4th.

What could be a interesting twist is that the last attack from Kaido is acutally a a future that Kaido see. So before he hit Luffy he manage to stop himself and hit CP-0 before he attacks Luffy.
This. Some of Kaido's words suggests that he also has some future sight abilities and there's a possibility that everything we see after that dialog was Kaido's own sight into the future.
My personal theory is that the trauma of Kaido goes even deeper than being interrupted for the second time just like with Oden: Imagine that the reason Garp doesnt want to talk about God Valley is, that he only got the finishing blow on Xebec, because Xebec got distracted, just like Oden&Luffy. But back then it was Kaido who was the distraction/got held hostage and therefor (in his mind) killed his own captain. It would make his stroy so much more tragic and be a good segway into a full flashback. This also would mean that his "winners are winners, losers are losers, reasons dont matter"-philosophy is him trying to not feel guilty for Xebecs defeat.
One of the most interesting parts of this chapter was Kaido commenting on luffys snake man going beyond what rubber should do. It might just be a reference to future sight, BUT this is the arc they said that Luffy's devil fruit is special. It is not just a rubber rubber fruit, why would that be important to the world goverment? And why do they consider him more of a threat than NIco Robin now? There are two other 'Ds' beating an emperor. Not too sure on a theory, but I think Luffy's devil fruit has to be something different, maybe something like the power of realization, that would fit perfectly with his ideas on gears just being realized and being a bit of a stretch for what rubber can do. That would put into question why is he a rubber man? If the abiity is somehow related to my guess, maybe he only is because he was told it was a rubber rubber fruit. Yeah there are probably some holes, but a normal rubber rubber fruit is not a threat, there is something more to it, and Kaido's dialogue on rubber not being able to do that is incredibly sus. If this was true it could easily tie in to black beards hunt for powerful fruit and maybe the idea that shanks having something he setup.
I think Kaido would take a Katakuri-like approach, but instead of injuring himself, he’ll just wait for Luffy to get his haki back because he’s enjoying the fight, and doesn’t want it to be ruined like that. Or not, I don’t write One Piece.

Despite him pretending to live by the same philosophy, he really has been stuck waiting for another fight to excite him like Oden did, but when Kaido finds himself in the same situation, all the years of guilt and regret hit him all at once. His eyes portray the sudden understanding thay what he wanted was a fair and equal fight, and he has lost that again, but I don't think he is going to allow himself to make the same mistake of accepting a shallow victory this time.

I love how kaido has a big contradiction in this chapter. In the fight kaido calls the samurai weak and stupid for believing in honor and saying winners don't need rationalations but when CPO grabs Luffy and kaido hits him he is in udder disbelief despite that he won implying that he too believes in an honorable fight. 10/10 chapter
It might not be honor, but rather the want for a challenge. The last time he had the chance to face someone who was a challenge, he wasn't able to really fight him, as he was fighting with handicaps. So he might be like toguru and his true desire is to face defeat at the hands of someone worthy.

I agree with you. I think Luffy will expose this contradiction within Kaido throughout the next few chapters, somehow earning Kaido’s belief in him as Joy Boy. This then could reignite Kaido’s dreams (he is living for death right now, just drinking and fighting) and then start their true fight. The reason I believe it is important for Kaido to believe Luffy is Joy Boy is because I think it makes the possibility of Kaido leaving Wano without being killed more possible (because he knows more about the country’s connection to Joy Boy than we do).
It also might be that Kaido has a different sense of honor than the samurai
Maybe Kaido is in denial of what he actually wants. He "should" want power at any cost, but actually believes in victory in a fair fight.
He's trying to convince himself that been handled victory through trickery is okay for him, but in the bottom of his heart, he would rather lose fair and square.
One particular line I found interesting was Kaido saying that the movements of snakeman attacks shouldn’t be possible for luffy’s fruit. I’m 95% convinced now that the elders recent conversation about a fruit and the order to eliminate luffy is tied to his fruit.

I think it just hints at Rufy's awakening to be honest. Snakeman's attacks are literally changing direction midair, Rufy's rubber body shouldn't be enough to make him able to do that.
However, if he's changing the properties of the objects/area around him that's a whole new ball of wax. If Rufy's making the air around the punches "bouncy" to correct their trajectory, everything suddently makes sense.

Which Leaves WG with two outcomes:
1. The Raid is successful, Luffy beats Kaido.
2. The Raid unsuccessful but now an ANGRY EMPEROR is on their hands.
Leading them to pick obviously the first and less catastrophic option.
Them begrudgingly hoping that Luffy gets back up and finish the fight.

Loved the chapter, Luffy clearly mentioned that this is his last gear 4, so now if he can’t go to gear 4 and can’t use haki (gear 4 drains haki for 10 minutes) i think that the only power remaining to defeat kaido is some sort of raw devil fruit power, not saying it’s some son wukong type of thing but just thing some crazy DF reveal is coming, that is of course only if luffy is going to defeat kaido in this battle itself, because there could still be more to go in wano than just this last round of luffy vs kaido

What i thought really stood out to me in this chapter was Kaido thinking that if Luffy's power is rubber he shouldn't be able to do what he does in snake man like switching the trajectory of his arms.

It doesn't make sense why the world government placed so much protection on a devil fruit that grants rubber powers. I think theres more to luffy's devil fruit than just becoming rubber and kaido knows it.

I think the biggest thing Liam missed was that despite Kaido being the strongest creature in the world who processes one of the largest armies in the world for the deliberate purpose of waging the biggest war the world has ever known, the world government still saw the need to intervene in his fight against luffy in kaido's favor because they still see luffy as a bigger threat to them. I'd imagine this would be world shattering for kaido since after all he's done and intent on doing he seems to never be taken as seriously as he'd hoped. He ruled wano for many years and the world government surly knows what he was doing but nothing to a big enough risk to them to actually intervene until he allied with big mom and more importantly up against straw hat pirates and allies.
That lanterns giving luffy the push he needs to awaken into the sun god sounds like some Oda writing IMO, I'm here for it.
I can just imagine Momo seeing that Luffy is knocked out and telling Zou to attack Kaido. Zou in turn impails Kaido, giving Kaido the honourable death he desires
Honestly really surprised at this turn of events, Kaido's face at the end of the chapter after repeating history just screams remorse and I'm really interested to see how he reacts.

I really liked the beginning just because of how cool the interaction was with Drake saying "I follow my own justice" and the Bob saying "I envy you"
I think it shows how many marines and CP members think about working for the WG and having to do the horrible stuff the WG stands for. I also think that this dialogue shows that Drake will be very important in the future

I've been 'cheekily' positing that the dreams from the lanterns, or maybe some Wano citizens dream specifically, is to simply do away with or obliterate Onigashima completely. As in one, or many, of the lanterns (spirits of the dead and all) floating up, into the hole through the bottom and setting the explosives ablaze all at once completely exploding inside Onigashima and the explosive energy propels Onigashima like a rocket off into space; maybe to meet Eneru up on the moon even 😁. Perhaps after the heroes and innocents have escaped (or are no longer there for whatever reason supports my current headcanon) so that the explosion thrusting Onigashima to 'new heights' doesn't take any innocent bystanders, nor heroes along with it. I first had the thought from the moment Law's sword bore the hole down through the bottom, and also Kaido blasting Luffy through as well and each time this OnigashimAnus was highlighted, Yamato and company were yet again stressed about it immediately after. Confirming to me even further now, after I've been thinking this even more within this recent chapter (1042), there's a somewhat out of place, momentary context panel reiterating the people down in Wano sending their wish lanterns skyward, only to literally show, *in the very next panel* the entire island of Onigashima. Which, though this isn't a Hollywood movie, any film buff would say that this sequence is quite telling of the lanterns having a very direct effect upon Onigashima!

Luffy is most likely to awaken his devil fruit in 1043. Ju (10), shi (4) and mi (3), the jushi ni mi which means Resin Fruit. This is one of Oda's word play and will likely reveal the true nature of Luffy's Devil Fruit.

I think Kaido hinted at Luffy's devil fruit not being rubber when he mentioned that his punches in Snake Man form were not indicative of rubber. I feel like this may have hinted that there is something else going on.

I never have reviewed a page for so long in one piece. I kept looking at the final couple pages over and over again. Something about it. Glad you started off with them because I felt the same way. Something so scary about how governments tend to operate.
Ever since I saw gear fourth I’ve had suspicion that his devil fruit was a ‘monkey king’ fruit based off the patterns on his body. It also made sense that he is immune to lightning just as the monkey king was and his body had the property of his staff which is to change and expand. The similarities with him and monkey king were just uncanny and I had my suspicions. Now with this fight between kaido (dragon) and luffy (monkey king) symbolises the fight between the monkey king and the dragon of the east bearing in mind that oda loves taking inspiration from deity lores from all over the world. This would also explain how jaecheondaesong (monkey king) fought against the heavens (gods/celestial dragons) to bring them down to earth. This are just my suspicions though

Both in this chapters "homicidal drunk" and in chapter 1037's "Laughing drunk" he has a different form that's very similar in shape to the jail beast.

Kaido's PTSD was definitely triggered by that CP0 guy.
Id say the two big things for me not in this video are A) Kaido remarks on how Luffy's attack don't appear to be rubber and b) the lanterns would represent the sun and dawning of a new day, going on the Nikka Sun God theme. So we essentially had a possible confirmation that Luffys fruit might be the one the Gorosei were speaking of, which can play into whatever he does next power up wise. Also the Sun God motif may come in heavy especially with the presence of Zunesha.

I must bring to your attention this "theory" that some bunglenut on Reddit came up with. They think that the egg on the Oro Jackson is actualy Joyboy and by extension, Luffy. Of course, literally no one seemed to take it seriously, but I thought it was a funny thing that you should know.
That would make a lot of sense tbh considering Sun Wukong was born from an egg and a lot of Luffy's character is loosely based upon certain aspects of Wukong.
Weird idea but Luffys gear 5 is bouncing back. Specifically healing back, giving him a new level of endurance on par with Kaido. People have said for years that the rubber rubber fruit is fitting since he always bounces back, but i am starting to think it may be literal
I really hope what we saw was just Kaido's future sight and not what actually happened already or Luffy's gonna awaken df maybe to come back I just know I can't take anymore interruptions lul but seriously CP0 agent is a lot tougher than I thought got stabbed through by Drake but still able to move around towards Kaido

Theory: Each major fight in the new world has an interference that hurts Luffy but the enemy is noble and wants the fair fight... until Blackbeard, who will try to get interference just to win, but Luffy will see it coming and prevent it, forcing the 1v1.
I reread that final few pages over and over to just let that reaction from Kaido hit again and again.

Kaido was already in his homicidal drunk phase during the occasion so the eyes are a representation of that. Luffy isn't going to fall through the ceiling to signify his loss nor will kaido throw him off the roof like before only because of what happened with Oden. He's going to kill Cp0 guy on/off-screen and wait for luffy's few minutes to recover from G4th.
i'm surprised you didnt mention kaido's statement on how snakeman luffys armbending isn't a thing rubber is supposed to do further hinting at the fact that there is more to luffys power.

What if that part was just Kiado future sight and the darker part is his reaction to that vision and he's gonna punch the cp0 agent instead to avoid their battle being interrupted but takes the full blast of Luffy's full powered Gear 4th attack
Do you think the lanterns may light up the sky and project the image of Luffy's Boundman fighting Dragon Kaido akin to the post-Enel battle shot of Luffy in the clouds? That'd be an epic way to show the people of Wano that the battle for the soul of Wano is taking place and/or coming to conclusion. Kaido wondering about snakeman and the actual physical properties of rubber feels like an overlooked detail
What could be a interesting twist is that the last attack from Kaido is acutally a a future that Kaido see. So before he hit Luffy he manage to stop himself and hit CP-0 before he attacks Luffy.

Some of Kaido's words suggests that he also has some future sight abilities and there's a possibility that everything we see after that dialog was Kaido's own sight into the future.
My personal theory is that the trauma of Kaido goes even deeper than being interrupted for the second time just like with Oden:
Imagine that the reason Garp doesnt want to talk about God Valley is, that he only got the finishing blow on Xebec, because Xebec got distracted, just like Oden&Luffy. But back then it was Kaido who was the distraction/got held hostage and therefor (in his mind) killed his own captain. It would make his stroy so much more tragic and be a good segway into a full flashback.
This also would mean that his "winners are winners, losers are losers, reasons dont matter"-philosophy is him trying to not feel guilty for Xebecs defeat.
One of the most interesting parts of this chapter was Kaido commenting on luffys snake man going beyond what rubber should do. It might just be a reference to future sight, BUT this is the arc they said that Luffy's devil fruit is special. It is not just a rubber rubber fruit, why would that be important to the world goverment? And why do they consider him more of a threat than NIco Robin now? There are two other 'Ds' beating an emperor.
Not too sure on a theory, but I think Luffy's devil fruit has to be something different, maybe something like the power of realization, that would fit perfectly with his ideas on gears just being realized and being a bit of a stretch for what rubber can do.
That would put into question why is he a rubber man? If the abiity is somehow related to my guess, maybe he only is because he was told it was a rubber rubber fruit.
Yeah there are probably some holes, but a normal rubber rubber fruit is not a threat, there is something more to it, and Kaido's dialogue on rubber not being able to do that is incredibly sus.
If this was true it could easily tie in to black beards hunt for powerful fruit and maybe the idea that shanks having something he setup.

Kaido gets his fight cut off with Oden and then 20 years later same thing happens with luffy I am sure it's gotta hit kaido kinda hard
I think Kaido would take a Katakuri-like approach, but instead of injuring himself, he’ll just wait for Luffy to get his haki back because he’s enjoying the fight, and doesn’t want it to be ruined like that. Or not, I don’t write One Piece.

The relevance of the stab is that the CP0 guy is mortally wounded, but still does his duty and follow order. (especially since he doesn't want to)

I think 1 bullet was not as strong as kaidos breath but all of them were Pluss kid bullet does not focus on damage every were it is focused on damage in one point
