Akainu pre-timeskip: "I will kill everyone you love."
Akainu post-timeskip: "IF I LEAVE THIS DESK I'M FINISHED"
Akainu in Chapter 1124: I'm sorry, brother
@@misslady2639OH NO, CHARAXTER DEVELOPMENT
I compare it to Dragon looking east that why I think Dragon will be Akainu final opponent
You know, your comment on Sakazuki not doing anything post time skip makes me realize how he and Dragon are parallels to each other just on opposite sides.
Really adds weight to that theory where they were once comrades but Dragon decided to fight against the WG
@@TheJonas973 Which kinda gives me the feelingthat the big showdown with Sakazuki might not be with Luffy but with Dragon.
I like how, unlike the other villains, Akainu doesn't have a mugshot art as the thumbnail, because he's the one who forces people to get mugshots.
He is the mugshot.
The day Akainu gets off that desk for good will be a groundbreaking moment in one piece post time skip. That’s when you know it’s getting real🫡
Gets up to go to the bathroom
One Piece; a manga where a man getting out of his desk is a world shattering event!
But it's already real.......THE ONE PIECE IS REAL
Real
Its the day Dragon looks west
sakazuki is my favorite one piece villian because of how connected he is to luffy. he scarred luffy physically and mentally, he killed his brother and due to him, aokiji quit and defeated garp. seeing luffy possibly get ptsd just from looking at akainu and fighting through it excites me
Even the mention of his name had Luffy clutching his chest
And he has a connection to dragon
It’s crazy people think Sabo is gonna be the one to defeat him😭
@@yrnxkj7607Another Donut for Luffy to mourn about
@@yrnxkj7607 Why would it be crazy ? Didnt Sabo confront admiral blind on Dressrosa when he didnt have any control over his new df ?
Yes that panel of sakazuki walking like a Terminator with a chunk of his body missing is absolutely terrifying and also my favourite sakazuki moment. The guy doesnt stop no matter what you throw at him.
Only shanks appearing in marineford made him stop.
Two things immediately come to mind:
- Sakazuki succeeded so hard he was promoted to Dragon and now he can never do anything cool again
- This commentary on leadership really brings up a subtle example of how much of a genius Kuma is. Kuma didn't take on the logistics of running a kingdom and making it better administratively, he stuck to what he was good at and 'hired' King Bulldog to do that stuff for him. Old man got to do what he was good at under the protection of someone who was very good at tending to the ills of the kingdom that an administrator can't touch and also had the power level to protect said kingdom.
Kuma was the best ruler in One Piece, simply because he recognized the importance of delegating busywork.
At this point I hate the volcano man so much less then others because I pity him for being stuck in all the work he has to do
Nah, I'm happy he got promoted to a desk job
always remember: he wanted that job and he just got what he´d applied for. if he doesn´t like it, Sakazuki should just resign.
Paper pusher akainu.
Who tf hates him
@@t.kersten7695 Based on his interaction with Gorosei I won't be surprised if the dude already sent his resignation just like X Drake and Koby
I'm 500% convinced he's also the child of a pirate. and not like a Rocks pirate or something, just like a Diez Barrels level wannabe lowlife
That'd be like an inverse of Luffy🤯 I want this now
This can be possible x-drake look on pirates are the same as him and he's dad was a infamous pirate captain.
"Some people belive i am a puncher-guy with small brain. Maybe. Maybe. But i am yet to meet one to outsmart a lava fist." - Sakazuki, probably.
- Sakazuki, probably
Actually given everything we know about his accent, it's probably more
"Hi. I'm an Admiral, and I solve problems."
"It costs 400.000 beri for me to appear in a movie for 30 seconds"
-Also Sakazuki
@@johnsayles8032
"That means I solve problems, not problems like "What is beauty?" Because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy. I solve practical problems, for instance: how am I going to stop some mean mother Hubbard from tearing me a structurally superfluous be-hind? The answer, melt his heart, and if that don't work... melt his head. Take for instance this lil' old magma devil fruit eaten by me, perfected by me, and you best hope... Not used on you."
This is the reference humor I live for 😂😂 @@arealhumanbean3058
That one panel of Akainu smiling, his smile is so creepy, that panel should be put in one of the smile horror movies.
I don't hate it, the dude killed ace. What a legend. Did more in one episode than most did in entire arcs.
i love how Toei hates admirals so much that they even removed the scene of akainu stepping on WBs weapon with hands on pocket. they were like; nah we cant let that happen, lets remove his hands from the pocket and push his body forward to show he is struggling😂
Toei is just powerscaling the Admirals accurately because it seems only in the pre-timeskip era manga events of the Admirals Oda was glazing the Admirals unlike in the current post-timeskip era.
@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hr How can the author be glazing they're his characters they're as strong as he says they are
@@SenJenko , it's because in the post-timeskip era the Prime Yonko beats any and all Admirals.
@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hrIf anyone's glazing it's you lol, I'll take the author's statements over some biased 🤡🤣
@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hr prime yonkos doesn’t beat admirals, maybe for GB only bcos of his performance, but still he isn’t losing just like that. Dude went off to defeat an entire alliance of country that defeated 2 yonkos and he came alone. And I don’t understand by what u meant by oda glazed Admirals. It’s his fkn manga. He can make buggy universal level if he wants. It’s his story😂
That line relating akainu stepping on whitebeards spear to luffy stopping doflamingos stomp blew my mind. The layers to this show is truly wild. Akainu and luffy were really the only reason either side were successful in those battles.
If Kuzan had won the duel and became Fleet Admiral, Sakazuki would either retain his Admiral rank or resign and join SWORD where he can attack any of the Four Emperors without need of authorization.
🤤 peak piece but tbh aokigi probably would have made the Marines weak but kind
It's kind of funny that Akainu is probably about as frustrated with his lack of involvement in the actual action as the readers are.
He needs some serious credit for being one of the only people in the One Piece universe with a confirmed named character non-flashback kill count.
The are so few real deaths in the series (outside of flashbacks) that it a true shock to see someone actually die.
And with Whitebeard who died in the same arc, we can’t say for sure who killed him. It was a combination of Blackbeard’s entire crew and most of the navy. There was no one final blow so no one person can take credit.
“Sexy big baby momma” got me pretty good
Lmaoo
Is Akainu looking West from his desk while Dragon is looking East?!? I see a battle ahead!! 😂
they thinking when they can get off the desk and finally get to the bed together 💞
@@RogBearDthat was so peak. Truly they onepieced together
Another thing to point out about Marineford is that Akainu was 100% fully willing to figh Shanks, and only backed down because he recieved an order from a commanding officer.
10:21 big mom on her way for another delivery 💀
Sending 🇹🇹 trinidad love to the internet man glad to be a part of your crew
yuh dig
Luffy: exists
Sakazuki: “that’s not very cash-money of you.”
From a writing perspective it's a decent way to put sakazuki on hold. The man fucked around and got himself promoted to a desk job doing paperwork under the thumb of the celestial dragons, The very reasons Garp never took those same promotions
Absolute justice leaves you blind.
Man Littearly has the powers of Molten Magma and yet His heart is ice cold! As cold as the depths of Space itself! While Kuzan aka Aokiji has ice powers but a warm heart, I honestly hope Akainu gets what's coming to him by the end of one piece! I wanna see this bastard get Humbled! See him scared and so on!
Honestly I don't get this idea that akainu is evil, he's extremely stiff and strict but considering who his bosses are(I honestly think he didn't/doesn't know what the elders are actually like) his most evil feat was executing a deserting marine which irl was an appropriate response. I can't even say ending ace was evil since evil people make up the majority of pirates
@@samuraitadpole5459 , he tried to kill Koby, which in my eyes is the most evil act committed by a marine, so I can't wait for Akainu's defeat too.
@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hr Can you imagine if Marines were going after terrorists after 9/11 and some low ranking soldier told the general to stop fighting? The fact joby wasn't arrested and executed quicker than ace is honestly a miracle only possible in fiction, in reality not even garp's position could save koby.
People really don't understand how lenient the world government is to their soldiers and it's honestly shocking
Honestly, while Akainu is incredibly cruel, pretty much everything he has done was just him doing his job. Destroying Ohara was a bit overboard, but in real life, bombing raids catching civilians in the crossfire is often unavoidable. Excecuting the marine for deserting was the appropriate response, and while Koby had a point, interfering with a military operation is punishable by death in real life, so Akainu was justified. In fact, the only unprofessional thing Akainu did was to consider Luffy the biggest threat and target him instead of Blackbeard.
@@aquaknight2269yes real life truly is worse than fiction. Thanks for point that out.
As fleet admiral i think Sengoku was happy to have one last battle before havung to resign. Fleet adimrals must have a shit ton of office work.
It'd be really funny by the end, Akainu sees Imu for the first time, he outright decks them upon seeing true evil, and I don't know what'd be more poetic justice. If Imu shrugs it off like it's nothing and claps back at him or it's actually life-threatening to them. Something like Luffy and Akainu working together to defeat a common enemy, the one time Akainu of his own volition decides what is truly right.
Sakazuki, alongside the majority of the Marines, would have a collective epiphany since they would finally realize they were aiding and abetting (in secret) devilish entities all this time. Undoubtedly, that would break the straw on the back for all the Marines to turn against their overlords and fight back. That’s the key for an ultimate reformation in the structure of the Marines…
I think sakazuki not being on the front lines is stressing HIM out more than us readers because you see his ever-growing frustration with the beauracracy and being the middleman between the marines and the celestial dragons while the world is plunging into chaos so I would expect some pretty drastic actions on his part in the near future. his inaction is creating a lot of tension and resentment between him and his superiors, and if egghead showed us anything its that there’s a rift between the Marines in the world government.
Akainu - best pre time skip antagonist followed by crocodile
Doflamingo - best post time skip antagonist followed by kaido
But imo Doffy is still the greatest one piece antagonist
I believe in future, sakazuki will realise that the absolute justice he's performing and believing in is for the wrong people. That'll be traumatising for him.
Seems safe now... Rank Saturn before the dust settles
YES, JUST WHAT I NEEDED, MY NEXT INJECTION
Also all caps was necessary
I AGREE caps intended
I like me some intented well used caps
Since recent events I think it's time for Saturn to be analyzed next.
Fun fact, Sakazuki was so strong in the One Piece Card game, he got banned
more like fodder
Your editing is so smooth, appreciated it!
It’s not quite fair reviewing him now but if we have to A does seem fair. He’s literally and figuratively the only villain to leave a mark on Luffy and has elicits a real feeling of dread that I don’t even think Kaido pulls off. Blackbeard and his new crew running for the hills at his approach really sells it.
Also the only way I can see Oda actually killing of named characters for real is when he’s allowed to get back on the battlefield.
I think Ryukugu could actually be a celestial dragon, or one of the gods knights, who was "drafted" into becoming an Admiral after 'The War of the Best'
Why?
I have not seen anything suggesting any god knight has ever been involved in the military.
In fact. I don't think we have even seen a single god knight other than figarland. And there should be 9 of them.
Greenbull has been in the show for awhile.
And the celestial dragon threatened too kill him.
The group that killed myosgard.
I doubt even the celestial dragons would talk to a god knight like that or another celestial dragon. Especially one at admiral level of strength
Gods knights are celestial dragons and they would be above a draft.
I kinda get the celestial dragon thing tho - its just a hunch
7:01- also the time when he insulted whitebeard to Ace
Sakazuki’s main enemy post time skip is Office D. Esk
Sakazuki being busy with paper work and all that makes sense , think about it if the dude got involved , even Saturn wouldn’t make it to take action , like Dragon and Mihawk his one of those characters that will shock us at every turn in the final arcs. I’m willing to wait .
6:30 Lucci and Kaido weren't really known for their smiles. Neither was Krieg, Kuro, Crocodile, Magellan, nor Katakuri. So, I wouldn't say "often" when it's quite rare.
6:25 he did smile aw when he provoked Ace by making fun of Whitebeards name
Robin: "Even at Navy Head-quarters there are only three who hold the rank of Admiral! Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu!"
Nothing scarier than a super volcano that has been dormant for way too long....
I think I could take about 0.5 child-Akainus…. meaning he somehow lost both legs in an accident mere seconds before the fight.
Honestly after the ace, sabo and Luffy flashback I gotta say you're better than me
Idk, I feel like Oda has done a good job of representing the restraints that are keeping Akainu chained to his desk, and why he remains so inactive. He’s trying to make the Marines the premier military power in the world and is at the point where dealing with individual pirates is beneath him.
In some ways, his inaction makes him even more intimidating. For all of the crazy world events that have happened post timeskip, he hasn’t felt the need to get personally involved that often. That just tells me the scale he’s on now, especially after Egghead. One of the Five Elders was outside of Mariejois and didn’t even request that Akainu join because he had so much faith in his subordinate. The Navy under Akainu has become a legitimate threat to the old balance of things, and the whole world is taking notice.
Don't forget the New world was stated to be mostly ruled by yonkos so it makes sense that the marines are elsewhere mostly post time skip
If only Ace had some earplugs he could have just ignored that magma man 😂
Just noticed bro is so obsessed with one piece his nose turned into Doflamingo's glasses
I view Akainu more of an antagonist. As corrupt and evil and the WG is, most pirates are not like Shanks or Luffy, and do genuinely hurt the general public.
Akainu: lol yo father bald
Ace: and i took that personally
Whitebeard used to have glorious hair, though
@@beefiestsurprise269now it's in the shape of his mustache. (Plays dbz abridge "mustache")

I truly hope that after the series concludes Liam does one massive video revisiting any relevant characters to adjust their tier-placements!
After a video of such a boss ( albeit still incomplete) of a villain with Sakazuki, it would be nice to delve onto another gag type villain with Caesar Clown.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on his character progression.
You made post time skip Sakazuki sound a lot like Dragon.
Sakazuki lost dragon and aokiji as brothers (went different paths)
Luffy lost his brothers too in a different way
Maybe its a hint of akainu working with one of his brothers?
Just a headcannon
Strong agree Sakazuki scary. I'm very curious to see him interact w Hibari and if he is doting father lol
If oda was a chef hed own a buffet with how many side plots hes cooking
Oh boy! I can’t wait for Imu villain story. It will be a bittersweet summary of whole of One Piece. I hope I will see the day.
His backstory gonna be like "pirates did him and his family some extreme evil"
Kuma level painful backstory to the point he adopted his justice
"All pirates are criminals"😂
13:00
Reminds me of the Case Closed movies where they always tease you with a tangential relation to the big baddies.
I absolutely LOVE Akainu, he is my favorite character together with Marco and Ace. I always found him fascinating. If you think about it, with his goal and ambition, he might well be eligible for conquerors haki, cant wait to see if it will be true
The very second I leave this desk... ...there will be another mental meltdown.
Hey fleet admiral someone stole my sweetrole what should I do
I don't think Sakasuki is gonna keep being a villain. He doesn't look like pointing in that direction. His absolute Justice can shift focus if he starts viewing Imu as the bad thing, and thats possible.
St. Saturn next? Since he’s not doing anything anytime soon. I can confidently say he’s the villain of Egghead
True, though a lot about the elders and their origins/relationship with Imu is still unknown. I feel like there’s still stuff that we have yet to learn about Saturn.
Sure we have yet to get his backstory and haven't seen him do much outside of Marineford but that just makes it even more impressive how big of an impact he's had on the series by killing Ace. By doing so he turned Luffy's view of the world upside down and did the very same to those viewing the series.
Theory that has nothing to do with this video:
Edward Weevil will look just like Whitebeard in impel down after the greenbull suckin (he will be just as smart and good at battle iq as Newgate(my hot take))
Theory 2:
The man marked by flames is a former gorosei member that was supposed to die but resisted the black flames with immense haki. He was fired (literally) because he let the giant robot in to the holy land 200 years ago. He is able to create whirlpools with his immense haki or something.
Hey Liam I have a One Piece theory that feels a bit silly but the similarities are jarring a bit. I believe the Five Elders and Imu might be inspired by Berserk's God hand. Saint Saturns death reminded me of how Apostles die when they forsake the God Hand. They often times help humans ascend into demonhood, but if they fail them, die, or disobey orders they face a fate worse than death having their soul guranteed to go to hell. (And when this happens a lot of the demons beg for the godhands help as they look down at them in disgust due to their failure). The main demon in each series is also focused on a woman with a strong connections with our main character Griffith+Casca and Imu+Vivi both of these women also dont know that character is obsessed with them until its too late. And the room the Five Elders sit in could be viewed like the Hand of God the God hands assemble around during the Eclipses where they plan to control the world for their respective gods One Piece's being Imu and Berserks being the mystery god they serve or Griffith.
13:56 CONDORIANO?!!
I'm surprised you didn't mention his character when Kizaru chewed him out at the end of Egghead. I thought that'd be significant since he felt like someone who couldn't be told what to do by someone of lower rank, not even by the retired Sengoku but Kizaru yells at him and he instantly regrets it
I actually agree with Sakazuki's decision and logic to annihilate the evacuation ship.
I understand but don’t agree
@@crazybobert5243 Understandable answer. My logic is if I was a soldier whose mission was to eradicate 'Illegal' research the best way to accomplish it would be to kill everybody and destroy the island which Sakazuki did to a tee. Saying 'I agree' sounds a little too cruel but you know what i meant.
In the anime sakazuki flex’s his fade on ace which is another example of him smiling
Earned my like so fast when you said Goku vs the Simpsons LMAO, great one man
Since Luffy's super power is to convert people, my best guess for where Akainu's character is headed is a turn against Imu at the last second to save Luffy and die in the exact same way he killed Ace.
It's been satisfying to see him achieving the rank of Fleet Admiral has been more of a headache for him than anything. Fujitora's actions in Dressrosa, and especially the Celestial Dragons badgering him and all he could do was suck it up. Although he's certainly lucky that the Elders never decided he was a liability when he was mouthing off to them.
7:55 did not see that line coming. Hats off to you, man on the internet
It feels like we’ll never see him leave the desk for a long time
He is basically a space marine trapped in an anime
After vegapunk speach I guess we would have two factions in the world government as celastial dragon and navy leaded by akainu
Sakazuki getting off his desk will be the OP equivalent of Guts getting off the boat
Akainu found his ultimate enemy, not pirates, not revolutionaries but polítics and burocracy
i feel like cause he only laughed the one time it docent count as a smile. in one piece you have to be laughing if your smiling. i cant think of single smiley character who isn't chuckling every sentence
Akainu when he was young: ill hold hands like monkey d dragon. id love to see wut happened to his sword and to make him act like that he is today.
Been enjoying the heck out of this series!
Blue flame burns hotter than magma so Sabo awakening his fire logia would be the fight for Sakazuki. Plus, blue flame would just add to Sabo's already dope drip.
I’m calling it now. Sakazuki will be defeated when he smiles.

I think Sakazuki is a traitor.
Hear me out :
As a child Sakazuki suffered at the hands of the world government or even a celestial dragon and so he vows to take revenge.
He then joins the navy and keeps following all of their orders without question so to gain their trust and to climb the ladder within the world government but inside he is just planning and waiting for the perfect moment to strike them ( the world government or celestial dragons ) down.
Maybe after the paramount war when he saw luffy stand up again and seeing how pirates like whitebeard and shanks put their trust on luffy and how he defeated kaido and freed wano he also start believing in him ( maybe he us also a worshipper of Sun God ) and so in the final war he will side with luffy against the world government.
thank you, man on the internet, for putting this content into my computer!
Imagine if Sakazuki is the one who causes luffy to eventually wear the eyepatch
I get why we had to do Sakazuki. Running out and I do feel he will be coming into play sooner and sooner. And while watching I was debating on if you should do an update to him. Then, I finished the video and said okay. Glad we are on the same page. That's why you run the channel and I'm the addict.
I hope Oda shows an image of Sakasuki desk burning in the office, when he is officially out in action.
Sakazuki caught a case of "sitting around, doing nothing" post time skip.
He caught a bad case of "Dragon Disease".
I think most people are missing the point of post time skip Akainu. He's basically a metaphor for a volcano that's about to erupt. He's only seen getting frustrated because I believe Oda is building up tension until he snaps.
Both his speech of ohara and the one killing his own marine are absolutely valid.
Sakazuki is to One Piece as Jeff Goldblum is to Jurassic Park
I’d love to see Garcia Saturn next now that his arc seems to be completely at a close
Well to add salt to wound we can always say Sakazuki is the WG+Celestial Dragons Lapdog as well as the entire Marine Organization because its them who sign the marines paychecks also in Wano when Ryo went against the Vasals ... he said it clearly i dont care about the inhabitants of this nation "Humankind has lasted through the ages by creating and defining the inferior!! All the rest of us can look down our noses at you unaffiliated countries!!! Discrimination creates solace!!!" meaning the powerful should control the weak ....
I believe Kuzan is an underground agent working for Akainu, who sent him on a secret mission after their battle.
Might be cool to see St. Saturn get ranked now that his story has concluded before he could get the Jack treatment
