Thank you for this tutorial. So happy to have found you 😊. You explained the basting stitch better than the manual or any other tutorials I have seen. 😊
I have had my V5 LE for near on 12 months. Had no lessons due to Covid so struggled thru. This is the best video I have ever watched. It’s amazing, I have had 2 incidents where my needle has hit the edge of the hoop and frightened me to bits. This video has educated me so much. Your expositions are fantastic, thank you so very much. Going to look out all your other videos as intending buy a Brother scam n cut so hope you do more videos for V5LE and Brother Scan n Cut as well. From the bottom of my heart thank you for exposing so clearly and without hesitation these superb videos. So delighted to have found them. 💕
Thank you for the great video. I already know how to use the basting stitch but cannot get it to catch. It does the first tie off stitch then jogs around the design but there are no stitches. Is there anything I can do to rectify this please?
you could look in your settings to see if you can adjust the size of the basting stitch, or try and lower your foot height also from the setings. try holding the thread tail out of the way when it first grabs to see if that helps also
Hi very informative thanks! I, too, just got the V5LE this week. Compared to my previous machine, it's like having a rolls Royce! Do I need to digitise any of my drawing patterns before transferring it to the machine
It is a great machine, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "drawing patterns" but you cannot stitch anything on your V5LE that isn't a stitch file, so if you mean you have something that has been printed or drawn, the only way you can have you V5LE stitch it out is to have the design digitised. I don't do digitising its an art in its own right, you can buy software to do it for you but again i don't have that, but from what people have told me its not always easy to use or get a polished finished result. You are better to get a professional digitiser to do it for you, hope that helps
How great is that! I have a Brother Innovis 1250 which I need to get my head round, this video has inspired me. Thank you. Did you actually put your tea towel in the hoop Ashely, I couldn't see and what stabilizer did you use? The one I purchase is much more heavy duty.
Floating is where you only hoop the stabiliser and then you lay the fabric over the top its good to do with clothing sometimes or thick fabric like blankets and towels.
Sometimes the designer will include a pdf of the design with crosshairs in the stitch file when you purchase it, so you can print it off, but i have a lot of designs that do not have them, so then you need software. Also software helps you tweak or set up the design on screen, for things like adding to it, adjusting it and positioning all before you stitch out the design, so software is very helpful.
in the settings on the machine you can do that, i suggest going through page by page of the settings to see what you can do, you may not understand all of them at first but just play about, anything which is a default setting will be white text in black box so you can always turn things back
Ok what do you do when wanting to transfer to your machine, I have a freebie one and I cannot put the design on a usb stick? I tried to send it over but had no success 😔
I download a file from the internet to my computer, and then put it on a usb stick. For the stick it just has to be the PES file, not the whole folder if the design came in one. Then i put the stick into the V5LE and go to embroidery

Hi no i said in the video that i was floating and i also showed that too and i used tear away stabiliser
Thank you, I wasn't sure what floating meant, something else you have taught me 🥰

Hi, how do you do the design print off, without software?

Hello my machine is due on Friday can you change your measurements from centimetres to inches?
in the settings on the machine you can do that, i suggest going through page by page of the settings to see what you can do, you may not understand all of them at first but just play about, anything which is a default setting will be white text in black box so you can always turn things back
That’s great I will study the book love your videos keep them coming xx
I like that design, I’m thinking of using the embrillance software do you merge designs with your software?(put two designs together)?
Yes you can do that with embrilliance essentials.
