Adding a basting stitch to your embroidery design when there is no basting feature on your machine

Do you have to lengthen your stitch on the rectangle? How do I do that?

Unfortunately, there's no way to change the stitch length of built in designs. I recommend only using this on items where you can leave the basting stitch in or you can cut it off.

@@AmyBullock Sure! You could absolutely do that. This is for machines that are embroidery only or those that don't want to remove the arm for sewing mode.

Unfortunately there’s no way to change the stitch length for built in designs.
I have used this to secure material to my stabilizer when I plan on cutting around my stitched design (like when doing Keyfobs or other ITH projects).

Unfortunately, there's no way to change the stitch length on this. Personally, I'd only use it if I'm cutting away that "basting" stitch for my end product (such as key fobs).

Yeah, it’s more or less meant to use to hold down materials for ITH items like keychains or other thing that you’d trim around with scissors. If you need an actual basting stitch there are some digitizers that have them on their sites for free or a small charge.

Some of the stitches are pretty small, so I'd recommending doing a test stitch before you stitch on anything important. I mostly use these to hold down fabric for ITH items like keyfobs.

I have an Innovis 4000D. I tried this---it did not have an "ok" button but it show black coming up like yours before my design colors. Which Innovis do you have?

This is the 2750 which is quite a bit newer than the 4000d (that was my first machine!). You may need to play around with your machine to determine the steps to take to merge designs.
