I’ve always felt that Joshua represented the best that religion has to offer in the modern world. He’s not self-righteous or preachy, he doesn’t force his faith on the people around him, he simply chooses to believe because it helps him process and heal from his past and current struggles, as well as look toward the future with hope for what is to come. He’s not scared to admit that he’s flawed, and says himself that God will not fix all your problems. I don’t know if I’ll ever find The peace I seek, the quiet mind. Hardship… yes, I know it well, I’ve wandered long through heaven and hell. The path I walk is full of thorns, Of sleepless nights and endless mourns. I’ve tried to pray, I’ve tried to heal, But some wounds never cease to feel. They gnaw at you, they drag you down, They suffocate, they let you drown. But through it all, I still believe That love and faith are not deceived. Though twisted once by hands like mine, They still can heal, they still can shine. This wasteland, cold and full of pain, It needs more love than blood-stained gain. The tribes, the people, all the same, Are lost in search of wealth and fame. But love is quiet, love is true, It’s what you give when skies aren’t blue. And faith… faith is a fragile light, That flickers on through darkest night. I’ve seen the worst of man, I know, But there’s still hope beneath the woe. A campfire, small, a gentle flame, Is all we need to start again. So, Courier, hear my words tonight, Though the road ahead is dark, there’s light. You’ve walked through shadows, just like me, But love and faith will set you free. It’s not in conquest, not in wrath, That you’ll find your true, intended path. It’s in the quiet, in the small, That we rise and answer the call. The hardship never leaves us whole, It takes its toll, it scars the soul. But love endures, and faith survives, In the quiet corners of our lives." His words hung heavy in the air, As if the night itself would share The weight of all he’d seen and known, Of all the seeds of pain he’d sown. The Courier, silent still, looked on, At Joshua, scarred but never gone. A man who’d walked through fire and flame, And yet, somehow, remained the same. A hushed wind stirred the desert sand, As Joshua stretched his weathered hand. "Love," he whispered, "is all we own, The only light we’ve ever known." And in that moment, by the flame, The Courier felt, through all the pain, A flicker, faint, but true and bright- The hope of love, the gift of light.

"Zion is a place, and a state of being, that has been lost to us serveral times in the past. Each loss is a new fall of man." If you truely wish for holy righteous state that is zion than "stop weaping in in the strange new lands" you have found yourselves in and build it back. You don't need to lead a whole congregration I was able to reconnect with god thru a bible study I was invited to and later helped grow during college, it won't be easy or glamorous but we can't expect God to do all the work.
This is a beautiful video, Joshua Grahams character is such an interesting one. Also, could someone tell me the name of the soundtrack playing at the very start of the video?
Beautiful. A message profoundly important, especially these days. I have so much gratitude for the love of family and of Almighty God. I strayed far from Christ Jesus for decades yet when I cried out to Him in agony a few years ago, He was right there. And now the fire that burns within is brighter and more enduring than any could ever hope to be outside.
I was raised and grown in the LDS church. I still believe. And I committed horrid sins I can not name. But in the end he forgives and loves. Its comforting. I love Joshua hes a man that done horrid things. But he found god maybe in the after life He might be forgiven for those he killed. God is a very forgiving person don't worry. if you left or wish to join just know that he is always willing to accept.
I always found it interesting how Joshua and Daniel are so very different when it comes to being men of God, but still have that same core of compassion while not fearing getting dirty. Daniel favors being a healer, doing his very best to care for those in his charge, and ultimately works to preserve the innocence of said people, even if it means giving up their home. Joshua is a fighter, through and through. Years with in service of the Legion has made him a capable warlord, something he leverages to great effect, but still he tries to return to at least a speck of innocence he had before Joshua died, and the Malpais Legate was born. And their endings reflect their relationship with others, and their own beliefs. There is no ending Daniel turns out happy or better off. New Canaan died, and part of him went with it. He is stuck trying to preserve parts of the past with the Sorrows as the new New Canaanites (which is running theme in New Vegas). Like Father Elijah before him, and potentially several others, staying there will crush him, either literally or emotionally. On the other hand, Joshua is stuck in the past. That flame in his heart, that anger, hate, and bloodthirst smoulders within him just like his skin still does from his immolation. He is wrestling with a faith that he gave up on, but never gave up on him. His attempts to return to his faith, however, seem him not truly dealing with his two clashing pasts, and in his endings he either disappears or returns to being a Warlord. Unless, that is, the Courier pushes him on the "righteous" killing of Salt-Upon-Wounds. When faced with the fact that, while Salt-Upon-Wounds is deserving of a terrible fate, Joshua has to give up his anger to truly find forgiveness. Daniel fears the tribals loss of innocence, but, to a degree, he cannot truly handle preserving it, because he still has his. Joshua, however, has been done this road before, and is headed back down it, which makes Daniel right to fear it. But to save their innocence (as much as it can be) and their souls, someone has to help them, and only Joshua can be pushed into facing down his own sins and ultimately make the right choice with how to grapple with them.
This reminds I was raised catholic and I have long since left such. A faith behind and have gone through pain and suffering and as god found Joshua the spirits found me. They guide me in this void we call a universe and lead me to. my found family my found brothers and sisters those who had taught me lessons I will never forget. To heal the scars both mental and physical to not be ashamed of the person I am to lead to the potential person I can be.
Though I may not be of faith or belief of trust in heart but in mind, but this character really helps with some pretty bad experiences with my own Christian family tree with just mind boggling amount and capacity for new ailments to be left to grow and fester and become a permanent scar slowly growing in size and seizing there faces only a few of them are what I consider Free which is something YOU should figure out for yourself.
God, hearing his words and the immaculate delivery just makes me so happy that i, too, have God, my dearest friend, and even if we don't share the same religion, i love the Lord all the same, it's nice to be loved unconditionally
I've always waited for something like a Christian community in Fallout, given it was a game that was a satarized and apocalyptic version of ours rn. And then I discovered this in a New Vegas DLC. Not only that, but it was portrayed beautifully, like a poem. Honest Heart's is basically poetry from Graham and his fellow Daniel allthroughout. To have them as the compassionate bunch teaching tribes the word of God, in contrast to a tribe that thrives in war and oppression, symbolized as a bunch allied to Caesars Legion - this scenery is very similar to the bible itself. I dont know, I just love this more than those of Children of Atom in the 3 and 4 series. They dont even have depth and are not even giving justice to why people believe in certain things, taking people for being inherently idiots I wish they couldve made religions with more depth.
In fallout 3 it's explained there's an organization that looks out and seeks religious artifacts amd tou find one of they'remembersin the Point Lookout dlc. Let alone there's a Catholic church in rivet city.
Is it... Is it bad that I find him and his vouce hot? Like, I have a bad opinion on most Christianity, Catholicsm, and all it's variants, but holy shit I could listen to this man for hours. This animation is amazing! The fire is memorizing! Everything about it is amazing!

A broken tool of God’s own plan.
I don’t know if I’ll ever find
The peace I seek, the quiet mind.
Hardship… yes, I know it well,
I’ve wandered long through heaven and hell.
The path I walk is full of thorns,
Of sleepless nights and endless mourns.
I’ve tried to pray, I’ve tried to heal,
But some wounds never cease to feel.
They gnaw at you, they drag you down,
They suffocate, they let you drown.
But through it all, I still believe
That love and faith are not deceived.
Though twisted once by hands like mine,
They still can heal, they still can shine.
This wasteland, cold and full of pain,
It needs more love than blood-stained gain.
The tribes, the people, all the same,
Are lost in search of wealth and fame.
But love is quiet, love is true,
It’s what you give when skies aren’t blue.
And faith… faith is a fragile light,
That flickers on through darkest night.
I’ve seen the worst of man, I know,
But there’s still hope beneath the woe.
A campfire, small, a gentle flame,
Is all we need to start again.
So, Courier, hear my words tonight,
Though the road ahead is dark, there’s light.
You’ve walked through shadows, just like me,
But love and faith will set you free.
It’s not in conquest, not in wrath,
That you’ll find your true, intended path.
It’s in the quiet, in the small,
That we rise and answer the call.
The hardship never leaves us whole,
It takes its toll, it scars the soul.
But love endures, and faith survives,
In the quiet corners of our lives."
His words hung heavy in the air,
As if the night itself would share
The weight of all he’d seen and known,
Of all the seeds of pain he’d sown.
The Courier, silent still, looked on,
At Joshua, scarred but never gone.
A man who’d walked through fire and flame,
And yet, somehow, remained the same.
A hushed wind stirred the desert sand,
As Joshua stretched his weathered hand.
"Love," he whispered, "is all we own,
The only light we’ve ever known."
And in that moment, by the flame,
The Courier felt, through all the pain,
A flicker, faint, but true and bright-
The hope of love, the gift of light.
Joshua Graham is the best charecter in fallout NV but the dlc was too short and OWB cracked me up and the X 13 stealth suit was amazing but the fathers story is so heart warming these 2 have the best story lonesome road was hard AS SHIT but really fun and I'm sorry dead money's trash
>he doesnt enjoy Dead Money
Cringe
@@uberd3323 I like Dead Money’s story, but I’m not a big fan of the gameplay; I don’t hate it, I just get real tired of the radios and ghost people after awhile.
@@NobelTheKnave I agree but I just Hate that you can't go back
@@thecourier874 Also true
I love your work.
This is a really good channel!
I keep rewatching this. It is a really good video and I love the visuals associated with the dialogue. It feels so symbiotic. Amazing work!
I used his uncertainty quote as my senior quote. It’s an amazing quote.
This was really good man.
As an LDS, Joshua graham is a really good representation of a religious man, but as a human, he’s a really good representation of redemption.
My favorite character ever.
I needed this video today. And I am so happy that this video is here.
We need more this is so good
New subscriber and I’m loving your videos
My favorite character in the entire series. Only Lily and Dogmeat come close.
I dont know who is mine fav NPC in Fallout NV but I know Joshua is in top3
That's an unreasonable amount of bandages.
A DLC character has even more impact on you more than all religious leaders' preachings. 🙏✝️🕊️
I share this video any chance I get, it's beautiful
Thanks dude, I appreciate that!
Joshua sound like my gramps :D
Absolutely Kino
I’m not Christian but the burned man is one of the most interesting characters EVER
It saddens me that a character like this would never be made now
wow
damn it that was years ago
More fallout please
I lowkey want joshua and nick valentine to meet up and go on an adventure together and go deep into what makes someone human and whether or not nick has a soul and whether or not nick is a child of God
Beautiful
Great work bro, makes me want to replay New Vegas.
This was beautiful.
Dude
Nice animation
Thanks dude!
I show this animation every chance I get
This video always gives me hope.
One great animation. May you find great fortunes in these times of crisis. Thank you.
It's so Amazing OwO 👌
I really wanna know what the song is that’s playing in the background
Sorry for late reply but here's the video I used ua-cam.com/video/1qlJUF0oanE/v-deo.html it's " Still Valley ll"
This character has actually converted people
For those in the comments saying you wish there was a church with the values that the DLC tried so hard to remind us the then go find Zion.
All I know is I've heard it new vegas a billion times lol
This feels me with peace
This needs more views than it already has
Nice animation, also what music did you used?
Really fits the background.
I play this on repeat to help me sleep
I was raised and grown in the LDS church. I still believe. And I committed horrid sins I can not name. But in the end he forgives and loves. Its comforting. I love Joshua hes a man that done horrid things. But he found god maybe in the after life He might be forgiven for those he killed. God is a very forgiving person don't worry. if you left or wish to join just know that he is always willing to accept.
Which God did he find? Since the LdS believe That the father son and Holy spirit are 3 separate gods and that the father has a spirit wife?
How to nail the perfect religious character in all video game history
"Spirits"
I aint religious or nothing but goddamn this speech hit me like a truck
Though I may not be of faith or belief of trust in heart but in mind, but this character really helps with some pretty bad experiences with my own Christian family tree with just mind boggling amount and capacity for new ailments to be left to grow and fester and become a permanent scar slowly growing in size and seizing there faces only a few of them are what I consider Free which is something YOU should figure out for yourself.
Thanks friend
I wonder what it would look like if Joshua graham said the ending for fallout
They should make an AI where Joshua reads the entire Bible.
Name one character in Fallout 4 or the show half as interesting, inspiring or intimidating as Joshua.
God, hearing his words and the immaculate delivery just makes me so happy that i, too, have God, my dearest friend, and even if we don't share the same religion, i love the Lord all the same, it's nice to be loved unconditionally
Mind proving the source of the music? I would love to have this playing in the background while I write
its Still Valley II by Northumbria
Such a based character
Joshua makes me want to believe in god again lol
They dont even have depth and are not even giving justice to why people believe in certain things, taking people for being inherently idiots
I wish they couldve made religions with more depth.
In fallout 3 it's explained there's an organization that looks out and seeks religious artifacts amd tou find one of they'remembersin the Point Lookout dlc. Let alone there's a Catholic church in rivet city.
Very cool animation
Is it...
Is it bad that I find him and his vouce hot?
Like, I have a bad opinion on most Christianity, Catholicsm, and all it's variants, but holy shit I could listen to this man for hours.
This animation is amazing!
The fire is memorizing!
Everything about it is amazing!
Catholicism = Christian
You think Protestant = Christian
